I've been with Law Security since the 1990's. Their customer service is everything you would want and expect from a local company. Not to mention, the best monitoring price in town! Recently, we set off our alarm and could not reset the keypad. We were going to call the office to have them walk us through the process. But instead, by chance, two Law Security technicians were in our neighborhood. We asked if they could answer a fairly quick question for us. We went home and followed their directions to reset the keypad. Everything reset in less than two minutes!! The technicians were leaving their service call and we're headed to our house without us asking them to come by! I had Law Installed a home security system in 2019, in 2021 we had a snow storm hit the San Antonio area. The power went out during this time for days and the alarms back up battery also started beeping as it was going out. As soon as power was restored the alarm keep beeping so I called Law customer service who said they would come out and check it, after two weeks I disconnect the battery and called again this time talking to the owner. She advised me she could go over the installation with me over the phone, I advised her I would prefer a technician come out and check my system and she said she would have someone come out. This was back in 2021, fast forward to May 1, 2023 I'm still waiting for the technician to come out!! I canceled this service because the customer care is not there anymore. Terrible Company, would not recommend to any one. RC Update!!!!! 5/1/23 I just received a call from Law Security customer service to see if there's anything they could do for me, I told them no just wanted my service canceled and was disappointed in their service, she then asked if I would consider taking down my review. NOPE the truth has to be told before someone else falls victim to this poorly run company. read more

After years and years of ADT and paying outrageous monthly fees (that kept going higher and higher yearly), I was ready to do away with my landline so I checked with ADT only to be quoted a ridiculous upfront cost and increase in my monthly service. So I decided to check out other providers- local if possible. Of course I turned to Yelp to guide me and found Law. I reached out to Law security via Yelp messaging. Within a few hours I was contacted and provided a quote - wireless service & decreased monthly payments (from what I was paying with other). I scheduled an appointment and they were prompt and on time! In less than an hour they took my existing equipment and added the wireless feature. Viola! So about a few weeks ago, there was an error message on my panel and within a few minutes I received a call from the company alerting me. I scheduled appt for the following week and taken care of within a few minutes. ADT? Had NEVER alerted me when error message appeared. I also set off my alarm by accident and quickly turned off the alarm. Usually ADT would not call since i had entered the correct code. LAW? Yup, you guessed it. I was with ADT for years. Paid for monitoring, which it turns out only provides the ILLUSION of security. When burglars broke in they cut the phone line and ADT never even knew (in spite of assurances that they'd be notified if a phone line was cut) My mom turned me on to Law and its been great ever since. I'm not sure what happened to their services but it is not the same as it once was...I was a happy Law Security customer for a few years before I had to move,but after three years, I came back to San Antonio, got Law Security Services again and was very dissapointed. ## Started off Bad ## We asked for home security service to include camera installment services. They gave us a day they would come out and said they would be out between 11am-1pm. We called the same morning to confirm our appointment. Around 3pm the tech calls and says he is going to be an additional 45 minutes. We were already 2 hours outside of the scheduled time and could not wait another 45 minutes, so I called the office to reschedule for another day. Pam told us that we would get our first month free. Cool, we thought, this business makes thing right...so we thought. So the tech comes on another day and he didn't have the cell box, so we had to schedule for another day. I don't know why he would come without cell boxes if he knows they are starting our services? Anyhow, now we had to miss THREE days of work, so we can get services started with Law Security. To make matters worse, each time we talked to Law Security (to start services,to confirm appointments, the three times the tech was here) we asked about the camera estimates. Each time they told us they would email the prices and each time we reminded them that we were waiting for the estimates. We also did not get a Law Security lawn sign. The tech said he was out of them and would be back the next day to give us one. Yeah, that did not happen! Never got one. ## Continued Bad - False alerts ## We started getting alerts every day around 1:30AM! We called Law Security because these alerts were not low battery alerts, we had not armed our alarm etc...and they explained that the ppl who monitor the system were doing tests and somehow that is why we were having those alerts in the middle of the night. They told us what to do to stop the alerts, so we continued our service and moved on. Another day we get a phone call during the day from the monitoring ppl asking if everything was okay because they had an alert that our alarm went off due to an open window. Nope. No alarm went off, nothing is displayed on our monitor. Everything is normal and nothing was activated. Weird. So my husband explains to them how we were getting those weird alerts in the middle of night but at that very moment nothing was alerting or should be alerting. So then we get the finalizing contract in the mail. BTW, they totally jacked up my husband's name to the point the post carrier put a question mark asking if it was ours. So as we looked at the contract we realized we really shouldn't sign with them: -They are not reliable or come when they say they will. Demonstrated when we had to miss three days of work to start services;they never came back to give us a sign for our front door and they never gave us estimates for the cameras! Something we specifically asked for from day 1 and five times later! -Their monitoring services were not reliable for us. As they called us when there was no alarm and then they activated alarms during testings. Do I really want to deal with False Alarm fees and argue which ones were or were not caused by me? ## Ended Bad ## So my husband calls to cancel our services. I was there, he was very polite and requested our services to be canceled. The woman who answered asked why and my husband said that he has had so many problems with their services from the very beginning. The woman got upset, her tone changed, didn't ask for specifics and said they would need to pick up their cell. My husband said he would be available that week and she hung up. He was waiting for her to schedule a specific day. So now I am even more glad we didn't continue services! Who needs a company who hangs up on you, on top of providing bad service? Oh and BTW, they called us back the end of week to schedule a day and charged us for that "free" month. read more

I've been a Law Security customer for over a year and a half now. I wanted to use them for at least a year before leaving a review. So far so good. My truck was broken into and nearly stolen, so it put me to mind to get an alarm system. It was important to me to use a local company and I've had bad experiences before with large companies like ADT and I wanted to be able to get someone on the phone if I had issues. A neighbor recommended Law Security, and in our neighborhood most of the homes with security systems use Law. I also noticed the provide the security systems for Bill Millers down the road. Once I did my research, I found out that Law uses the same equipment as bigger national companies, like DSC panels, with the advantage that their prices are much better. I was able to get them to show up for installation quickly. The service and installation was painless. The monthly cost is better than I was able to find anywhere else. I was a customer for approximately 2 years. The last few months we started having issues with sensors making causing the alarm not to arm in certain sectors of our home. The fist appointment I scheduled with LAW service tech did not get met. They showed up early and I was out. (To their credit Lisa did call and advise that someone was in the area and could come earlier but could not nail down a time frame so she said she would call back when he was preparing to head over...didn't happen and no call when he got there either) The second appointment was scheduled between 10-12am. I called at 12:15 after the technician did not show up and was told my appt. was not between 1-5pm and they were under the assumption that I was having cameras installed?! To no avail I referred to an email from Pam Wood verifying my appointment time of 10-12. The organization and scheduling there is horrible. I chose this company due to their advertisements referring to their BBB rating and Angie's list awards. If you are employed and have to go to a job site, don't rely on these guys to show up, especially if you're already their customer. They'll get there on time to set you up...follow up visits are the problem. read more
