The chicken sandwich here is perfectly crispy and delicious and the fries are great too. It's a welcome addition to the neighborhood. I just wish they didn't have that $5 delivery fee. They forgot to include a cheeseburger one time we ordered delivery and told us to just reorder it, which means we would've had to pay the $5 fee again, and the outside service they use for delivery takes forever. Seamless ended up giving us a coupon to knock off the delivery fee, but by the time that happened it was 9:45pm, they were almost closed, and it had been well over an hour since we originally ordered - add on how long it takes for that delivery service and who knows when that would've arrived. If they fixed their delivery issues I'd order all the time, because the food is fantastic and really hits the spot when I want that crispy chicken goodness. read more

I always order from here. Tonight...was awful. Usually when you go to pick up there are several delivery bikes huddled around the window requesting their orders. I have had to fight my way through the crowd several times. Tonight, after ordering a Burger & Fries for $19.00, I went to pick up my food. To my surprise there was no delivery services huddled around the window. I thought, wow, this will be smooth. I walked up to ask for my order, like I have done 15+ times. I stood patiently waiting for a couple minutes, in the cold, and saw that the employees saw me, but no one cared to walk over and assist me. I decided to press the buzzer to grab my food. Upon pressing the button, their plexi window fell in, it's super cheap and I'm pretty sure it's not the first time this has happened. Everyone on the other side of the glass was looking at me all crazy, I apologized and said I didn't realize it was so flimsy. The NASTY employee, who saw me standing there previously and chose not to just help me, had the nastiness attitude and came over and proceeded to school me that the pick up window was literally three feet over. She spoke to me like I was an idiot. I told her I have been here several times and I've seen dozens of delivery services pick up from this window, and I always pick up from this window. She doubled-down and continued to school me on windows that are literally three feet apart, and not one person behind me. No need for all this ridiculous. She had next level attitude when speaking to me, so clearly things escalated. Everyone in the kitchen, and some older woman sitting on a bar stool with glasses on, all sat there giving me crazy eyes and attitude. How could picking up food be so difficult? The nasty employee asked me my name and made me repeat it three times. Clearly pushing buttons. She shut the window in my face and proceeded to go get my bag. Upon making her way back, she stopped and chose to have a conversation with this woman on the bar stool and held my food hostage as in "I'm gonna make him wait longer." How is this great customer service? The entire kitchen staff was also in on the convo, as I can see everyone. They were all smiling and looking at me waiting for my food. When she finished MAKING ME WAIT, she opened the window and YES, I snatched my bag from her. She proceeded to hang her head out of the window and yelled at me as I walked away. I placed an order on Seamless mainly because the estimated delivery time was 30 minutes. After an 1.5 hours my food finally arrived and the order was incorrect. I ordered a double cheeseburger (ok - for my husband) and a double hamburger for myself. However, 2 double cheeseburgers were delivered...I have a dairy allergy which is why I ordered the hamburger. I immediately called Home Frite to explain the situation. After asking my name and address they then hung up on me. I called back and spoke to a different person...this man did not apologize once. It was so crispy and juicy, their sauce was amazing, and even the bun was out of this world. Had my mind made up on what I wanted , and delighted Home Frite was opened. FYI due to high demand orders will not be placed over the phone. Place order on Home Frite website. I ordered the crispy fried chicken salad , fries and a mango whiskey lemonade. Everything was freshly made and prepared to perfection. The salad was great , however wish added croutons was an option , and a lil cheap with the chicken ; but would definitely order item again. Fries were great but next time I will try the wings or chicken sandwich. Ummmm the drink was jealous , thought I would taste more juice than whiskey ; but definitely a even balance. As a protection against COVID, dining in is not an option but takeout is still available. Staff is friendly and happy to help make decisions regarding orders. Burgers are delicious, particularly the blue cheese bacon burger, and are affordable while being quite hefty. Fries and sauces can come off as slightly underwhelming in comparison to the intensity of flavor in the burgers, but the truffle fries really knock it out of the park! I just picked up takeout today around 3pm. I was really excited to see Home Frite near me since I always have to get their fries at Smorgasburg. Smorgasburg fries are 5 star fries every time. The fries at this location are a 2, maybe a 3 at best. Way overcooked. It was like they were crunchy but so over-fried that some parts of the fry would just taste like oil. It was also a bummer that the sauces in my online order were wrong. I didn't imagine they'd be so busy at 3pm that they couldn't put the right sauces in the bag. It wasn't even a huge order. I ordered two lunch specials with two orders of small fries. I'd like to think that the whole point of ordering from Home Frite is try a number of sauces. I asked for 4 different sauces and got 3 (of the 3, 2 were the same). So that was pretty disappointing. Surprisingly, both the chicken sandwich and veggie sandwich were pretty good. I rarely leave reviews and they are rarely one star. I hear the food at this place is tasty. However, I wouldn't know because they decided not to fulfill our order. I called the restaurant at 9:15 and got no answer even though google hours claim open until 9:30pm and Yelp says 10pm. Grubhub claims order fulfilled at 9:01pm which simply wasn't true as I was sitting on my porch. They use their own delivery drivers and grubhub could do nothing besides tell me to call the restaurant, which was closed, and refund my order after 90 minutes. I normally order from here regularly and usually my order is close to perfect as all requests are met; however yesterday order through door dash was by for horrible. Whoever prepared this meal did not care they did not treat my food with care but rather as a garbage. My food came sloppy missing ingredients, thy put condiments on my food that I didn't ask for for example I ordered two salads and they put Mayo "Mayo on both salads how gross I am highly allergic to it and I normally order anything f without condiments so it does not come soggy. Welp this was the case for every sandwich the chicken sandwich I asked fo no sauce they put sauce, the bbq burger no sauce came with sauce and without the bacon advertised with it. It was such a bad meal yesterday I will be taking a very long break from this place. Great local place for a burger or a delicious chicken sandwich (!). Fries are great, thick and crispy, just the way I like them. Everything is made to order and is fresh, and I feel like you're given a good portion for the price. My favorite dip is the lemon garlic aioli and some ketchup on the side. I also tried the crispy chicken salad the other day and the lettuce was all fresh, and the dressing light and flavorful. Definitely a great neighborhood addition, and as you can't get nicer or more welcoming staff, (with great tastes in music) I hope this location stays. read more
