His tone felt dismissive and unprofessional, and at one point it seemed like he was mocking me while asking what I wanted to do. In the end, the store did exactly what I had asked from the beginning -- process the return and give store credit. When I asked for the manager's last name, the cashier refused to provide it and only whispered her own name when I asked. I've been a loyal HomeGoods customer for years and even have their credit card, but because of this interaction I will not return to this location.
