When the manager (name tag said Chad) arrived, he acted as if he didn't know what was going on even though the situation had just been explained. He then said the issue was that the purchase was over 30 days old, which neither the cashier nor I had been told earlier. His tone felt dismissive and unprofessional, and at one point it seemed like he was mocking me while asking what I wanted to do. In the end, the store did exactly what I had asked from the beginning -- process the return and give store credit. When I asked for the manager's last name, the cashier refused to provide it and only whispered her own name when I asked. I've been a loyal HomeGoods customer for years and even have their credit card, but because of this interaction I will not return to this location.
