Cashier said let me do this for you it will be much faster. Ok went thru all the answers and questions got a email confirmation with a code he said check it and give it to me. Ok I did he said your all set check your email to finish the purchase. It was from Fortiva Credit card thought it seemed funny but figured it was Lowes special card. Cashier made the purchase had me put it into my google wallet so he could scan it to make the purchase.Well no 20% off asked where it was he said go talk to customer service. I did they were so confused they didn't know what to do. I said cancel the whole purchase and refund it back to the credit card. After all the BS. I said what with the credit card they said you weren't approved for a Lowe's card so it defaulted to a Fortiva card which is a HIGH RISK card for people with bad credit and now I'm having more difficulty trying to cancel that card. I went to the service desk to ask for help and the lady working at the service desk was very rude. Did not want to help at all. She's pointed and goes. It's over there just do it and I'm like I don't know how to do it. She's like figure it out seriously what is wrong with people? The staff here may be "nice" people at their core, but some are inept and incapable of answering basic questions. Specifically Roy, who not only has a bad attitude but lacks any basic knowledge of the store he represents. Beyond basic lack of awareness and the ability to interact with customers in a respectful manner, Roy can't problem solve. If you don't know the answer, find someone who does. Asking questions to Roy is like pulling teeth. And he'll make you feel bad for trying. Altogether a bad customer service agent who shouldn't be in a customer-facing role. Beyond personnel issues, the store itself is poorly organized, particularly in the lumber department. Tough spot to shop, so I find myself using Home Depot and/or Menards for basic essentials. Five stars all the way. We are doing some renovations in our home and were shopping around for high quality, yet affordable waterproof vinyl plank flooring. We stopped by this Lowe's and were approached with help right when we walked in the department. Steve was our guy!! He gave us some helpful tips about the different options that they had, what was in stock, and he even gave installation tips. We have learned that it is not always this common to receive this type of genuine, knowledgeable service. Thanks Steve for being you! Update to my original (12/16/22) review of replacement windows from the Lowes store in St. Charles, IL. Below is a timeline of what has happened. Bottom line: There is no way I would ever order windows from Lowes or Atrium again. NO WAY. It's been 12 months since I ordered replacement windows that they said would be ready in 2 months. They didn't install the windows until 5 months later, and how here I am 12 months after the initial order STILL WAITING FOR THEM TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE SASHES AND SCREENS. It's been a nightmare -- mainly because nobody at Lowes or Atrium (the manufacturer) gives a shit. The installer (a third-party contractor hired by Lowes) has been great. But that doesn't make up for Lowes and Atrium. Timeline: Aug 2022: I ordered $15K of replacement windows from Lowes vs other vendors because the Lowes sales rep said Lowes could get the windows by Oct 2022 (everybody else was saying Dec). Dec 2022: The windows that were supposed to available in Oct are finally manufactured -- and then the windows sit at Lowes for 2 weeks while Lowes works out a dispute with the installer. (Nobody contacted me to tell me the windows were done. Nobody contacted me to tell me there was a dispute with the contractor. I only learned this info by making multiple phone calls myself to find out what was going on.) Jan 9, 2023: Windows are finally installed - but with multiple defects (short glazing beads, crooked grids, defective sliding door, defective sashes, torn screens, etc.). Installer provides a punch list to Lowes on Jan 12 and tells me replacement parts usually take ~4 weeks. Feb 2, 2022: I call Lowes to check on status of replacement parts. Lowes has not ordered any of the replacement parts. March 9, 2022: I call Lowes again to check on my replacement parts. (BTW, Lowes NEVER calls me with updates...it's always me calling them.) I learn they ordered replacement screens and sashes, but they did NOT order the biggest defective item: a sliding glass door for the patio. Why not? Apparently Lowes was waiting for Atrium (the manufacturer) to come inspect the door. But Atrium declined to send anybody. March 13, 2022 (3 months after the initial install and report of a defective door): Lowes finally orders a new door. April 25, 2023: Installer replaces defective door and some of the defective screens and sash. But some of the replacement items from Lowes/Atrium were wrong (sent lower sash instead of upper sash, half screens instead of whole screens, etc.). June 13, 2023: Installer again replaces defective screens and sashes -- but some of the replacement items from Lowes/Atrium are STILL wrong and have to be re-ordered. August 6, 2023: I am still waiting for replacement parts. Meantime, I spent half a day documenting the BIGGEST problem with my order that neither Atrium (the manufacturer) nor Lowes wanted to bother inspecting: The installer noted multiple short glaze beads. Short glazing beads can let cold air and water into window frames that are supposed to be insulated. The installer said Atrium or Lowes should come out and inspect the windows -- but Atrium and Lowes both declined to do so. So Ken, the millwork manager at Lowes in St. Charles, IL, told me I needed to document everything myself. So I went around the house today, moving furniture, tilting in the windows. inspecting glaze beads, taking photos, recording warranty numbers, making a list, etc., etc., BECAUSE NEITHER ATRIUM NOR LOWES COULD BE BOTHERED WITH A QUALITY ISSUE. My original order was 1 sliding door and 16 windows (16 upper sashes and 16 lower sashes). 10 of the sashes have short glaze beads. Another 6 have crooked "grids" (grids placed between panes of glass by the manufacturer to simulate a multi-pane window). So in total, 16 of the 32 sashes need to be replaced -- something that you would think Atrium or Lowes would want to see for themselves. But like I said, they don't give a shit. read more

Buyer beware when purchasing appliances from Lowe's. If you do not purchase with their credit card, you have 48 hours to ask for a return of a large and expensive appliance that does not work correctly. They will not take back an appliance (dryer) that does not dry and then finally does not allow the gas line to work. The dryer slowly (within four days, not two) died. Lowe's will not replace it because it is after the two day return policy. The dryer is a lemon. read more

Purchased a freezer on Black Friday and was provided a December 21, 2024 delivery date (needed by 12/24). Received a call from the delivery vendor (not even Lowe's) on 12/4 advising me the delivery date was being pushed to early February 2025. I was transferred to a Lowe's representative and advised the delivery date had been changed to 1/17/25 because the product was out of stock. Loews' customer rep was condescending and rude, insisting I was to blame bc I purchased the item at a discount. The rep hung up on me while I was waiting to speak to a supervisor, 25 minutes wasted. Another 40 plus minutes to be offered 10% off an LG comparable freezer that cost $270 more than list price ($324.90 more than purchase price). I believe this is called Bait-and-Switch; the fridge they offered is also listed on the webpage for the fridge at question (see pic). Stopped doing business with Lowes. Their installation service is a scam (as I learned this week). Very disappointing. Bought a washing machine from Lowes for $800.00. Paid $50.00 for the haul-away of the old one. Paid $160.00 for a Lowes service plan. The washing machine came with free installation. One delivery day, the Lowes crew insisted that they are only allowed to perform installations on galvanized steel pipes, and they are not allowed to detach the old washing machine for haul-away due to the same reason. They advised me to have my copper pipes replaced with galvanized steel pipes. I called 2 different Lowes and their Customer Service number, all three of which confirmed this policy. I then asked my plumber for his opinion; he stated that copper pipes are superior to galvanized steel pipes, that many newer homes have PVC pipes, and that steel pipes are generally not installed anymore because they are subject to corrosion. His opinion was that Lowes "policy" was a dodge. A second plumber confirmed my plumber's opinion. I cancelled the Lowes service plan I had purchased, got the washing machine installed, and informed Lowes that they had lost my business for life. The End. read more

My Aunt bought an old house a few blocks away from this store, and since it's the nearest place we can get the service we need, we went here to take a good look of their service and tools. I did not understand why other reviews are just one tar for their customer service but they did a pretty decent service for us. The staff in this shop assists us in a friendly way and really knows her job. Since we are new here we asked a lot of questions and surprisingly the staff knows it all, he even added additional information which we think is great. We get most of all things that we needed and I can say that they are of good quality and some of them are in sale so we save a lot of money. And also the parking lot is also spacious so you don't need to worry about parking. read more

I bought all new appliances within the last year. The fridge was the last. Ordered two weeks ago and first one showed up almost 2 hours after their afternoon window with three giant fork lift dents in the side. Sent back and waited another week. Asked twice to deliver in afternoon and they showed up first thing in morning. Hooked up water line and left. Never took packaging out and fridge did not have humidity control attachment. Left without leveling and I can't because of bad knee and no held to lift. Had to call again and schedule for next week. Guys who delivered did not speak any English so I could not communicate with them. Lowes used JB Hunt for delivery. Obviously they are not training or assuring that at least one on a crew can communicate. On call no 6 and going into three weeks on a fridge that should take 5 minutes to install. Lowes sold out. Lowes employee, Michelle, came to my rescue and spent nearly 15 minutes helping me to find what I tried to describe, as well as alternatives, with no success as what I was looking for didn't exist. We had a terrible experience with a whirlpool washing machine. Spent MONTHS fighting with whirlpool. The Lowes team took care of us. All of the staff were amazing and helpful. But Ken, the appliance manager, went above and beyond. He took care of our problem and was quick, and helpful about it. Had a terrible experience with a return. We had purchased a $200 Christmas yard airblown inflatable which tore shortly after Christmas. When we tried to return it as defective we were refused based on no returns after Christmas. We barely made it into the store and the store representative turned us away. I typically don't mind paying the higher prices bc this store is very convenient for me but I recently had a terrible experience when I tried to order a patio door through the mill work department. I wasted my time, money and I missed out on a Home Depot window and door promotion because the Lowe's process of ordering a door was so so slow and ina. I would not recommend using Lowe's. Francis answered the phone and insisted the information was on the website and I could find it myself. When I advised him I could not find the information he insisted it was on the website. His overall tone and behavior was belittling and insulting. This is not the standards I have come to expect from Lowes. Can I give less than a 1 Star?? We are currently going through a home renovation and decided on Lowe's because they had a good deal on kitchen cabinets. That's about the only good thing we found from this place. Every department we have worked with has absolutely screwed us. Kitchen department: one of the cabinets came at a wrong size, 7 cabinets doors were damaged, the employee placed an order wrong twice for the molding and our contractor decided to just make his own and got material from a different store, finally the Lowe's employee told us the wrong sink to buy for the counter tops (that were also placed through Lowe's). Bath: We ordered 2 custom bathroom countertops and were told they would be ready for store pick up in 3 weeks. We got a call from the store a bit later and were then informed 4.5 weeks. We placed a call to the manager and listed a bunch of things that have been very frustrating and an hour later an employee called and said the countertops would be back to the original 3 week timeline. The Tuesday they should have been delivered I placed a call to customer service at the store and they looked up the two counters and said yes they should be in today and we would get a call that day. Fast forward two days later we get another call saying the counters haven't even been made and they won't be shipped for another 1.5 weeks. We talked to the manager who is offering no help. (Side note: Phil from the this department has been very kind and helpful). Paint: Our contractor has sanded and repainted the doors and trim in the house. We asked the Lowe's employee for the best paint and bought what they recommended. About 3 weeks later we noticed all the paint could just be scraped right off with a finger. The Lowe's employee blamed us for freezing the paint (which we did not do). Then the valspar rep said it could take a month to dry despite the claim on the product saying 3-4days. So we had to buy all new paint and repaint it all. And I think the worst of this is that management offers no solutions or help. read more

Do not purchase any door from Lowes where they have am invested partnership with the door manufacturer. My door is under warranty and it been over a month for Lowes to try and figure out which manufacturing plant to file the warranty with. These plants pass the buck, don't respond timely with the store. I am the one calling once a week checking on the status and I get a new excuse (lame) at that every single time. I am really not understanding the reviews here. My husband and I just moved to the area and bought a house needing some minor repairs. We have been to this Lowe's several times over the past month and a half, on different days of the week and different times of the day, and I will tell you I don't think I have ever been to a Lowe's with more friendly and helpful employees. Everyone we have dealt with has had the best attitude and someone is always greeting us or asking if we need assistance as we walk through the store. I used to always go to the Lowes, it was the closest to my home. I have been really surprised by the continuous terrible service. The woman who runs customer service during the day is by far the most unprofessional person. Today I needed to by a power tool and blades. No one could answer my question. I asked a woman who worked there and she did not know. This employee told me to ask some old guy running the parts area, I was warned that he can be crabby. He told me instructions are in the box. When I wanted to check out it was self scan. I tried the self scan but my one item was not marked. I went over to customer and that woman was on the phone. When she saw me standing there with al my items she said, "What do you want?" I told her I could not do self serve and she said "Why not?" I told her the plant I was buying was on sale and I did not know how to ring it up. This woman takes the plant turns it all over the place making a mess and says, "There is no tag on this, I can't scan it."I looked at her and said, "Then what do I do?" she tell tells me "Just hang on already!" After being treated consistently bad at this location I will not go back. I would complain to the store manager but I have never see them. I have sold my stock in the company. I ordered 3 doors from this Lowes last year and they were installed 4/1/22. The front door and the screen door were installed without a hitch. The fire door that was installed came without the required fast closing hinges. When I reported this to my salesman, he told me that he'd have to contact the installer. After 2 weeks without the promised phone call, I called the store. I was told my salesman would call me back - which he never did. I reached Brian the following Monday. He said he would talk to the installer and get back to me. The installer had informed me that the door came in without the proper hinges. Ten days later I called the salesman Brian back. He hasn't talked to the installer yet. Says the installer is doing a big window job. A week later I call Brian again. He said he ordered the self closing hinges and they should arrive within 2 weeks. (Why don't they have them in stock?). A month later and I haven't received or heard anything about the hinges! Called the store 3 days later (Monday), Brian is not in and I am transferred to his boss Ken. Ken calls at 4 pm and informs me that he will discuss this with Brian the next day. The following day I am told that I will be getting a call from the installer in several days. Almost a week has passed and nobody has called. I guess Customer Service goes out the window once they have your money! Meanwhile I have a door that swings open and hits the wall in my family room. read more

Horrible service. I ordered blinds in January...we are in May. I still don't have my blinds. The installer has been out to my house 3 times. That's 3 times I had to miss work, rearrange my schedule, and all three times there were issues (missing parts), blinds did not have any tension to roll up, one blind was crooked (manufactures incorrectly). If you try to call them the phone just rings and rings with no one to pick up because they are dealing with a customer in person. I called and spoke with a supervisor last week who walked over and had the individual working the blinds department call me back. He called me about an hour later and said he would get to the bottom of it and get back to me. It's been a week, no phone call. Enough said. I would NWVWR recommend them to anyone. Jim in the flooring department is a fraud. He and other members in the department like to continually say that "Jim is on vacation" but he'll help you anyway. I was trying to place an order for five weeks and constantly heard this excuse but was told that he would help me anyway. The last straw, after he didn't follow through with my requests to 1. Determine if the carpet that I wanted was in stock, and 2. Confirm the total number of sq feet that the installers required, was when I requested him to break down the total cost of my project. His first response was: carpet pad is $.99 a sq. foot x 120 total sq. feet = $135.60. When I told him that this doesn't equate, his response was: "these are the numbers on the screen. I can't make up the numbers. If you're not comfortable with the expense then it must be too much for you. Don't make the purchase if your gut tells you no." He talked me out of it so quickly that 1. He knew the numbers didn't add up and wanted me to walk away or 2. My purchase wasn't important or large enough for him. Either way, I walked away and have to start all over. You decide. This spring we decided to embark on a bunch of home projects. You know how it goes. One project started, completed, and before you know it you're moving room to room making improvements. Stripping wallpaper, painting, backsplashing, carpeting....whew! We had a shoestring budget to make these renovations and purchases. In the middle of everything, our dryer stopped working. We shopped around at all the big name stores and also some locally owned dealers. Specifically for the carpet and dryer, Lowe's had the best prices and installation deals. The staff in the store consistently are personable and knowledgeable (without being overbearing) and the delivery and installation teams were fantastic. No complaints, we were very happy with our services. If you are shopping carpet, be sure to check the back wall. We found a good Stainmaster on the back wall that was much less that on the actual Stainmaster display. Sure, the back wall doesn't have a huge selection, but for those on a budget there may be some worthy options. Remember one of the most important components of carpet is the pad! Our carpet pad was more expensive than our carpet. We continue to come back to Lowe's for smaller purchases and recommend this store for carpet and appliances. read more
