I am very happy to see how our experience with HJT transpired from a negative to an extremely positive review! Flying from LGA to Denver this past Sat. afternoon and at the last minute, Southwest delayed our flight almost an hour and instead of landing at 5pm, we arrived after 6pm. We had 2 seats reserved for 6pm departure from Denver. I called Home James and talked with Marybeth (I believe that was her name). She was kind enough and empathetic with our situation, but we weren't given much good news on just how we would get to Winter Park that evening, since they didn't have a 7pm and the 8pm shuttle was completely full. It really stressed me out for our entire flight. I was told to call back when we were boarded, which I did so and again, no solution for us and was told to get to Denver and hope we could make our 6pm. I knew there was zero shot, so we were looking at rental cars, but thankfully did not book. In addition, we would be out the $165 (for 2 people) since it is a non-refundable fare. We arrived at DIA after 6pm and hustled down to luggage and of course the 6pm shuttle was gone by now. I called the # and the office was closed, but it said to leave a message and I did so. My phone was acting wonky in it's new environment, but I finally got ahold of someone in the office and they gave us the best news ever. They realized our flight would not make it in time, so they sent a larger vehicle to account for two more people and we could relax and get on the 8pm. I thanked them over and over and was glad that they were certainly looking out for us, as it felt uncertain from calls earlier in the day. Shuttle was great. On time and very friendly. A full bus, so a tad tight, but that's all good. The return shuttle arrived right on time for our trip back to DIA and another super friendly driver. This was my first time with Home James and Jordan B. hands down made this a 5 star experience. He was courteous and accommodating, especially because our group was staying in several places and he had to drive to each one - while waiting for each sub group to check in since we all wanted to end up at the same place at the end. I booked a ride from Denver to Winter Park with Home James. A minute later, my friend texted me to tell me that he was going to pick me up. A minute after that I emailed Home James to cancel. A few minutes after that I got an email back saying the booking was within 48 hours and was non refundable. I replied that this was uncool, etc and didn't hear back. This situation was an error and it didn't cost them anything. It is sad to quote policy in this situation. Poor training and terrible customer service. If you book with Home James, make sure to read the cancellation policy. They are not reasonable or empathetic. read more

My latest visit to Winter Park/Fraser Colorado to visit my daughter, happened to coincide with record breaking snow and cold temperatures in the area. I delayed my trip home by a couple of days but the snow continued as well. I was made aware of Home James transport and caught a ride with them, rather than my daughter make the icy journey through the mountain pass to drop me at the airport. I booked a ride from Winter Park with Home James because I was told the Amtrak would not be running. This was booked in the evening. Early the next morning we found out that Amtrak was running. We called to cancel and they said that the booking was nonrefundable. The cancellation was within hours of making it and did not cost the company anything because we contacted first thing in the morning. they just quoted their policy to us. Terrible customer service. I wish I had read the review below. If you book with this company, read the cancellation policy. They are not reasonable or empathetic. H&L in Winter Park is a better service and much more empathetic. My friend cancelled with them and received her money back. read more

My friend and I made a reservation to go to Winter Park. The website says cancellations up to 48 hours prior to trip. This is NOT TRUE. We cancelled same day booked which was two weeks prior to the trip. They charged 4% fee for the two rides. We ended up booking a return trip but they didn't credit that fee they charged either. Oh my gosh, I never thought I would find myself writing a Yelp review about a van ride, but this was one I won't soon forget. I had taken a quick ski trip to Winter Park, and needed to get back to Denver for my evening flight. Unfortunately on the day of my departure a massive blizzard hit the Denver area (all over the news) and roads were shut down like crazy. Accidents everywhere. Near whiteout conditions at times. Nevertheless, the van showed up as promised with our driver Matt behind the wheel. Matt drove expertly through the blizzard, navigating us around a highway closure that had cars backed up for miles. On top of just driving, he also filled us in on the history of the area along the way, which made the trip much more fun and enjoyable (I didn't think I could enjoy a van ride to the airport, but now I know I can!). While many other cars ended up in accidents or stranded on the highway, Matt got us safe and sound to the airport. I cannot speak highly enough of the professional service we received. If you need a ride anywhere, this company has amazing drivers that can get you there. Highly recommended! read more

I was super impressed with the entire experience, which isn't something I thought I would say when talking about a van ride. Right from the get go, our driver Jordan was ready and waiting for us, helped load up my things and off we went. The van was clean and comfortable, my wife and I didn't feel cramped at all. Jordan was very safe driver and certainly helped make the ride more entertaining. Although it's not the shortest drive, time flew by pretty quickly. Our driver for Home James had no regard for safety, courtesy, or property. We used to like this service, but when we asked our driver if he could open a window for COVID safety, he violently threw our bags out of the trunk and on to the ground, damaging our equipment. He first feigned leaving without us when we called the company to complain, then returned, once again violently threw our bags into the vehicle without our consent, and called us rude epithets as we reboarded without any option for another ride. He complained about us making him late, but took several extra minutes to yell at us before leaving. He continued to harass us and ask for personal medical information and political alignment throughout the drive. This is going to be a long story, but it's all true and I'm still angry about it 9 months later. Back in January of 2014 I was given the task of driving my boss' Jeep Wrangler up to his house in Tabernash. Since I was going to be leaving the car up there I needed a ride back down the mountain and to DIA so I could fly out that night. I booked a shuttle from Home James to take me from Tabernash to DIA and everything seemed to be looking just fine. So the day finally comes, I drive the Jeep up to Berthoud Pass with plenty of time to get to the rendezvous point and the pass is closed due to an avalanche. So I sit in the town of Empire for like 2 hours seeing if the pass will reopen. No traffic is getting through going up or getting down the pass and I take that opportunity to call Home James and explain to them what is going on. They tell me that they are happy to reschedule the trip for me, but they can't do any refunds, it's against their policy. I tell them that I don't need to reschedule as I need to get back to Denver to get to the airport in a few hours and if this has to happen another day, then my boss and his family will take care of it when they go up to the condo for the weekend. Home James continues to tell me that I am out of luck, they will not refund my $96. So I go back down to Denver and call the owner to explain that even if I had been up at Tabernash, he could not have gotten down the pass to complete the route. No traffic was moving through the pass at all so he would have had to refund my money anyway. He said that they refuse to do any refunds for any reason, even due to weather. I explain to him that if I had missed the shuttle then yes, this would be my fault and no refund would be expected, however it was physically impossible for him to do the route even if I had been able to get up there so a refund should be given. He flat out refused. This kind of service is unacceptable in my opinion. If the pass had been open and I missed the pick up then yes, I agree with the no refunds. However if the company cannot physically make the trip, then a refund should be given. read more

I have used Home James for three years now on my annual trip to visit friends in Winter Park. I have only used them from Denver airport to Winter Park. Pickup is prompt, and one time I was running slightly late in picking up my luggage and they help the van for me. With a short stop on the way for gas where your can get out and use the restroom or get some snacks in the adjoining convenience store, it's really a smooth ride up. The vehicle is about a 10-passenger van, but the most I've ever had in a van was five of us. Luggage goes inside but skis/boards are strapped into a compartment on the outside. The rides in the evening are usually quiet, but the drivers will answer any questions you have. The drivers are friendly and knowledgeable of the area. They are also very concerned where you are getting dropped off. I am always asked if I am meeting people or have made arrangements to get the condo key since it's after hours. I have seen drivers walk passengers into hotels to make sure they get in, pull right up to people's front doors, and I've had drivers walk me to the elevator door of the condo complex. Customer service over the phone has also been great, from making the reservation to making sure you get to the right pick up place at the airport. I also like how I can charge the entire amount including gratuity ahead of time online so I'm not fumbling for cash at the end. I will continue to use Home James on my trips out to Winter Park. read more

Drive was 1.5 hours and I can tell you, honestly, everyone of us on Matt's shuttle had a memorable time. He gave us CO history and pointed out interesting sites. He was phenomenal! We used Home James Transportation to get from Winter Park, CO to Denver International Airport. The only thing I can say about their service is that they are just Awesome! The driver (Neil) was in front of our condo 10 minutes before our scheduled time, he came to our door to help us with our luggage and had a big smile on his face the entire time. He even offered us cold bottled water, wow! Talk about hospitality. The shuttle was very clean inside and out. The ride was smooth and very comfortable.
