I want to be clear that the staff and free breakfast was amazing. Our room was just not. The room smelled of spilled ketchup. The bed set did not smell completely clean. The tv was unplugged so for a good minute my kiddo could not figure out how to work it till I decided to look back there. We accidentally went to the East location after a long 14 hour drive originally, and they would not even attempt to transfer the reservation over. I was very disappointed. Truly a horrible and disgusting hotel run by rude employees. This hotel is a disgrace to the Hilton Brand. I recently stayed here for the weekend. After a long day of hiking my partner and I returned to the hotel to find that our room had not been cleaned or addressed. When calling the front desk we spoke with "Wookie" (Not sure if this is his real name or some kind of a joke but that is what his nametag said). Mr. "Wookie" was an absolute jerk to speak to. He started by saying the cleaning people had all gone home and that he wasn't going to do anything about the room that "room cleaning isn't included in the room rate" (yes this is quoted). I asked to speak with his manager and he said his name was Kevin and hung up the phone on me. I went down to the front desk and asked if we could switch rooms, he said he wouldn't do that, he also said his manager was out sick (Kevin) and his other manager had worked in the morning and he wasn't going to bother her with something petty like a guest room not being cleaned. We asked him for clean linens so we could make our own bed he provided them by dropping them off and walking away. Never offering to help or be of assistance in any way. Truly horrible experience with a disgusting hotel run by terrible staff. I will never stay here again. read more

My experience at this place was actually pretty good. We always travel with our dog so finding a dog friendly hotel, that offers rooms for a family 5 is not always easy. But we found this place that was on our way to New Mexico. The location is actually perfect. You'll find restaurants, grocery stores, gas station and even buccees within 5 min drive radius. The rooms were spacious and very clean! Given it's a new hotel! We spend two nights here. On our way to our vacation destination and on our way back. Front desk was helpful and friendly. We skipped breakfast after our first stay as we didn't like the choices and I have to admit out of all other home2 stays it was one of our least liked breakfast. This hotel did something I've never seen before: they handed me a piece of paper with the dog friendly restaurant patios nearby, emergency vets, and kennels. Great check in, great front desk staff, clean room, love that it was a suite, comfy mattresses, blackout shade, quiet, nice gym, great pool, satisfying breakfast, free parking, great WiFi and Optimum Cable. We were very weary senior travelers and have come to expect a level of courtesy and comfort on our twice yearly travels. The hotel wasn't brand new but we got a fabulous nap and good nights sleep. We are members and are always treated like old friends when we book through our app. We pulled in early as we were just hitting the terrible wind storm from the current winter storm. We had stayed in a sub par hotel the 2 nights before as we were coming from rural Nevada and this was great! The bed was fantastic as was everything else. I used the gym and tried the Peloton for the first time. It was nice to have a guided workout and watch the weather channel. I also did a second cardio workout on my phone while I did a load of laundry. Breakfast was typical but so nice to have before hitting the road again. We really like Home 2 Suites by Hilton, so anytime we can stay in one when traveling we do. We prefer the king or queen studio which is an open concept bedroom area, living area and kitchenette, with a small bathroom. The one-bedroom suite is also a really nice floor plan and gives you additional room (larger bathroom, separate bedroom, a small kitchen table, larger kitchen and living room area). For the two of us, the studio is plenty big. As usual, we booked and checked in online and used the digital key so we were able to go straight to our room when we arrived. Our room was clean and comfortable and except for a barking dog down the hall who apparently had been left alone (who does this!?). We reported the dog situation to the front desk and she did attempt to call the room and no one answered. Thankfully, the owners must have returned shortly afterwards because we didn't hear the dog once we got ready to go to bed. Since we are on the road for 10 days, my wife wanted us to catch up on laundry. We checked at one of the prior hotels on our trip and they were charging $3.50 per load so we decided to wait. When she inquired here, she was told it was only 75 cents per load. Needless to say, we did laundry! The laundry facility was adjacent to the gym area and was super clean, the machines all worked (which seems to be a rarity in hotels) and were all available. Caitlyn at the front desk was amazing. She was very busy throughout the evening as we traveled back and forth to the laundry area and we witnessed her being very friendly and efficient to both guests face to face and over the phone. The maintenance man (we do not know his name) was also friendly and helpful. We were also able to got caught up on some sleep, the bed and bedding were very comfortable. This is a great hotel to stay in and I will always seek out this brand. Very roomy rooms, lots of amenities. Pet friendly. This particular hotel had a great staff and both times I stayed here the rooms were very clean. Also great location with good eateries within walking distance and a theater too. The only reason I don't give it 4 stars. It was a bit noisy. (Ask for the 4th floor!) And one of their Tesla chargers was broken. Both times I stayed here I couldn't use the charger and that was a bummer. If you do need them make sure you let them know they have to turn them on. Cuz they flip the circuit off. (The staff is very spotty on knowledge about the chargers so beware) read more

They are getting their money even through this pandemic, for Amarillo specially. The morning was nice and fresh, and out of nowhere, it should I say from every direction there was cow horse and or donkey stench. Gross! Couldn't enjoy sleep as the walls have no sound prof. Also my neighbor above me, Mr. Thunder-feet, apparently couldn't get their feet up and stop all night and all morning. It is incredible to believe people have no common sense courtesy for others. Our room was not ready and also there was a family of two small children that had the same problem. We requested extra towels and tea bags for our room hours before our arrival, nothing. There was a lady changing a baby's diaper on the Lobby lounging chairs, right in front of the desk attendant. Also several employees were not wearing their face mask. And the staff apparently allowed several guest to walk around like no pandemic was in affect. Last time we will ever use this chain. Also breakfast was a joke. I can literally go the entire stay without getting within 6 feet of another person if I want! Another bonus is the fact it has a Tesla destination charger! Reserved a room three months in advance and was given a room that the bathroom door would not close. Went to the front desk and was told since the restroom was used she could not give me a different room. I asked her what she expected me to do since I was traveling with family and we need a room with a bathroom door that closed. She said she could have maintenance come the following day to repair it. So I asked her what I was supposed to do until then. All she did was shrug her shoulders. So I asked to speak with the manager, she stated he would not be in until the next day, so I asked for his number. I told her that I know it was not her fault then she told me I was disrespecting her. Really awful customer service here. Don't waste your time or money here. We arrived after 10 pm and the check in was longer than usual. I noticed the indoor pool was open till 11pm and there was lots of activity and wetness all over the lobby floor and elevators. (Be careful!) The rooms were very clean, and that was appreciated! Here is the reason for a star removal. Red Hot Moments! We walked into a 77 degree, hot and stuffy room. Seriously? Why waste your heating? People do not want to sleep in hot stuffy rooms. What a waste of money. Here is the worst part. We turned down the air and the compressor would not come on. We actually had to view 3 different videos (on overriding air) and then shut the main power to room (yes there is a box on the window wall). Just for a squeeze of cold air. Loved the cleanliness but can't deal with the hassle. read more

My wife has pointed out a lot of things that made our stay uncomfortable and left us feeling unsafe. Another few things I would like to point out, the elevators were too slow and cleaning staff DOES NOT not have any service elevators. They took too long to arrive and rules specify that ONLY 2 people per elevator. Secondly, the breakfast was a joke, the sausage egg and cheddar breakfast sandwiches missed the fried egg. Both sandwiches had no egg in them. Plus they are advertising OMELETTE but guess what? NO OMELETTES, so it defeats the purpose, why can't they remove it from the menu? Coil unit get sleep, you can hear everything from the top floor. I literally woke up at 4am thinking something or someone had fallen down. The hallways were very dirty, stains all over the carpet. I had high hopes when I booked this location, but none of my expectations were met nor exceeded. The booking process went very smoothly. I appreciated the texts before check-in to see if I had any room requests. It was a nice personal touch to my stay. We ended up getting there an hour before midnight, and the woman at the check-in counter was super polite. A friendly staff goes a long way when you've been driving for what feels like an eternity. While all of our room requests were fulfilled (first floor, close to the EV charger), the room itself was a disappointment. I don't know if they're in the middle of renovating or if THIS was the reno, but the bathroom looked dirty, the shower floor had this dirt-like stain all over it, the bed was uncomfortable, and the pillows were flat. The room itself also didn't feel clean -- like, that "I've been sanitized" feeling wasn't there. It felt like a pre-COVID sloppy wipe down was done even though one of their selling points online is that everything is sanitized. One positive, and a factor into why I booked here, is that they have a free EV charging station. I really enjoyed the peace of mind of charging my car overnight and not having to worry about going to a supercharger before continuing the drive. Besides the friendly staff and the EV charger, this hotel doesn't have much going for it. read more

Booked this hotel room hoping it would be better than the Hilton Homewood Suites we stayed in a couple weeks ago. This hotel is newer but it was not much better. The bathroom was not well cleaned. There was hair in the shower and on the counter. Hilton seems to be cutting corners by using what appears to be mattress pads as a comforter/ duvet. I thought it was due to a poorly made bed at the last hotel but this hotel made the beds this way as well. The lamps are falling apart and the vinyl upholstered headboard has scratches and holes. The room smells like mildew. The location is convenient and the full size fridge and mini kitchen is nice to have. But otherwise, I would not recommend. Might have to find a different town to stay in during our Houston to Colorado road trips because there doesn't seem to be anywhere decent to stay in Amarillo. read more

I'm a diamond member and this is location has actually replaced the double tree in Schaumburg, IL as worst Hilton property I've stayed at. It's not just tired, it's not clean. The carpets on the 4th floor are stained and smell. My room has an odd, bad food smell to it. It's just bad. If I was t so exhausted from being on the road all day, I'd eat the points and go somewhere else, the smell is that bad. read more

This hotel is probably fine for 1 night if your driving through and just need a place to sleep. But other than that I would choose another place to stay. The hotel is new, but not up to Hilton standards. The rooms are spacious, but kind of like a long hallway. There is no separation to anything. Lots of strange boxes and shelves mounted on the walls. The window coverings are substandard for a hotel. The beds are comfortable but the pillows are made of what seems like rubber. The decor in the room is colorful but very cheap looking. Also, be aware the bathrooms offer little to no privacy with a sliding barn door. Plus the shower is small and no tubs are available in any rooms. Several items in my room were broken, including the toilet, soap dispensers and window coverings. Also, the climate control does not allow you to select A/C or heat. So, its either too hot or too cold in your room. Lastly, the free breakfast is VERY basic. Plus it was not set up well and completely overwhelmed with people trying to get food. Also, there was a lack of decent seating once you get your food. Im very surprised this hotel is Hilton brand. The concept is terrible. I will never stay in a Home2 Suites again. read more

My family stayed at a Homewood Suites by Hilton in Frisco a few weeks ago. It's hard to believe that Home2 is also a Hilton hotel. The two experiences were so vastly different. There were three of us (two adults and a four year old) who stayed one night, on our way from Dallas to Angel Fire, New Mexico. Based on this experience we will likely not be back. When I made the reservation I requested a pack-n-play in our room for our four year old--when we arrived, no pack-n-play. I called the front desk and was told by the man who answered that he would bring it right up; almost 40 minutes later he hadn't shown up, so we went to dinner (it was 8pm). When we came back to the room, no pack-n-play, so I went down to the front desk and retrieved it myself. The next morning we went down for breakfast at a little after 9am, hoping to get biscuits and gravy. There were biscuits...but no gravy. Or apple juice. I told the woman working the front desk, and she went and told another woman. By the time she changed it out, we were done eating and headed back up to our room. The last strike, for me, is that for a hotel as busy and full as this one (there were A TON of families with kids) they don't have more than 2 carts for loading luggage. Seriously?!? Ridiculous. I need to mention, too, that there is only one person manning the front desk. I called multiple times before reaching the man the night we checked in, and while we were eating breakfast we observed several people waiting in line to checkout because the desk worker had gone up to one of the other floors. The nicest thing I can say is that our room was very clean and mostly toddler friendly. For $200 I expect more from a hotel. We won't be staying in a Home2Suite again. read more

This is the first hotel review I've been compelled to write, for good reason. The staff: truly goes above and beyond for their guests. I have always been treated with kindness and politeness even during a time of misunderstanding that could have turned out bad with a lesser hotel. The facilities: are well kept. The beds are very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is high quality. I haven't ventured to the pool or gym but they both look on par. One small negative is the noise level. The door and walls are not well insulated so you will hear if there is a loud family or pets in adjacent rooms. (I've been lucky enough so far to not have to deal with this). All things considered I would absolutely recommend this hotel for the price and location. read more

Husband and I were traveling through Amarillo and spent one night at the Home2 Suites by Hilton. The hotel was spotless and the staff was very nice. Everyone of the staff was wearing masks, which was good. The room was nice but extremely modern, almost spartan. The bathroom has a walk in shower but the bathroom itself is very cramped. The kitchen area was nicely appointed with dishes, flatware, etc. There was a microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster and refrigerator with a freezer. However, the refrigerator was placed immediately next to the hall door of the room and the fridge was hinged to open on the wrong side. It was difficult to open the fridge because of its placement next to the door. And speaking of doors, the room door is EXTREMELY heavy and hard to hold open when you're trying to move your luggage in and out of the room. The beds and pillows were comfortable. We had a king sized bed, sofa and a work station in our room. There was no luggage rack and the "closet" is tiny. There is open shelving that you could use for folded clothes. All in all, the room was clean and adequate. read more

Customer service was great, staff was friendly! Room was ok, there was a smell coming from the sink. I had to use my lemons from my drink to try an get the smell out. The bathroom door latch was broken so you had to use a stick, in my case we used our nail clipper to pull the door out from the wall. There was pieces of the wall (tile) missing from the bathroom so it looked like a hole in the wall. The beds were comfortable, plenty of room for the kids to relax. Room was clean, spacious, an comfortable. Didn't get a chance to try the breakfast. The pool was good, the water in the hot tub wasn't getting hot even though we kept turning on the timer. The pool area was very very cold so the kids froze every time they got out. But the design of the pool was cool looking. The water in the pool was warm, just the room was cold. The washer an dryer were good, LOVED the price on them. I was happy I didn't have to pay an arm an a leg for just a couple sets of clothes to be washed and dried. It's a great place to stay if you're just passing through. Just some minor issues that could be fixed but Staff is friendly, very welcoming also the cookies were Delicious!!!! The service was awesome fast and professional and the lady at the front Dess I believe the name was Mindy was very courteous, helpful, and very professional. I can not speak more highly of the staff here at Home2 Suites in Amarillo! They went above and beyond for us during our stay early this July. A friend with us ended up having an unrelated to our stay car issue that we found out about as we brought stuff down to load her car up to check out and they went above and beyond to be helpful in that situation even though they didn't have to be.Breakfast was much better than I've had at other hotels/suites, & facilities were very well kept. Be sure to wear goggles in the pool though if you or a member of your group have sensitive eyes though because the chlorine was strong! Any time we are coming thru here we will stay here thanks to the amazing staff. read more
