I recently stayed here for one night, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The staff was very welcoming and provided our room right away at check-in. The lobby was clean and nicely maintained. We stayed on the 4th floor, and the room itself was quite spacious. However, it does feel dated, especially the bathroom and the heater/AC unit was fairly loud while running. Nice touches included complimentary water bottles and cookies at check-in, plus a coffee maker with free pods in the room. We also tried their breakfast, which was filling and reasonably priced at $19. Free parking was a big plus, and the hotel is conveniently located about 20 minutes from downtown. Overall, a comfortable stay with friendly service, though the rooms could use some updates. read more

I chose this hotel for my stay for my daughter's dance competition and it was a fun experience for my daughter. Two of my dance mom friends also booked there , and because I am a gold Hilton honors member, I was able to put all of our rooms on my account and get us a $30 credit for dinner or breakfast each day of our stay. Now I will say the bathrooms are rather small, idk if the fridge wasn't working or wasn't plugged in , and the faucet handle was hard to turn in the bathroom, but outside of that, the room was cozy. The staff was so amazing and so sweet. Definitely southern hospitality at its best. The front desk staff was always available and ready to assist and when we got breakfast, the lovely women were so kind especially to our girls, they engaged in conversation, and was great with service. I love staying anywhere Hilton and I recommend this place if you're in Augusta. read more

They have a full blown German cockroach infestation. Explains why they don't set breakfast out, why the rooms are poorly lit in hopes you as a paying guest you don't notice. We were in room #524, for the infestation to be that up high means that it's everywhere, including the kitchen where your food will be made. We spent one night as we had a long drive and needed rest but the next day when we were going to settle in, we noticed very clear signs of a dirty, disgusting, roach infested room. We quickly packed up and went to check out before our stay was over and demand a refund. We weren't questioned and employees were not surprised, which says A LOT. All our stuff will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in fear we will be featuring stowaways. I tried warning some guests checking in but stay at your own risk. I feel like everyone deserves the right to make an informed decision about the state of this hotel. This along with an Outback in the area that also seems to host German cockroaches is just so disgusting and dissapointing. I don't understand how this seems to be so normal. read more

Do not stay here! There are better hotels that don't stink in ways of the old disgusting smell, weed and cigarette smells covered up by some kind of stinking air freshener. Bathrooms in rooms have mold and mildew. Bed linens have stains. High dollar hotel that never tries to update anything. I stayed in this hotel a couple of years ago and now again just recently and they always apologize to everything and say they are sorry for the disappointment and it's always the same presentation. The overall hotel experience has been ok, but the customer service has been excellent. I wanted to commend the two young people at the front desk today at the DoubleTree in Augusta. Their names are Timera and Dez. They were extremely professional and courteous; every customer that I saw them interact with left with a smile. It's uncommon for people of any age to be graceful, but these two young people have it down. Hats off to them. read more

It may have been nice at one time but that time has passed. Peeling wallpaper, scuffed up trim and paint, depressing bar. We were given a room with a broken thermostat. A very nice young man came up and said he could bypass it but there were no knobs so adjustments would not be possible. We were moved to another room where the thermostat worked but the cold water tap in the bathroom did not. The only window overlooked an interior corridor. Save yourself the disappointment and stay elsewhere. read more

Third time staying here in the past year, work related. Probably won't repeat anymore here. Easy to find parking is ok, grounds are kept ok , Stay super helpful and friendly. Giant Lobby and seating area. Slow elevators , rooms are clean for the most part but if you start really looking they're not. The beds are comfortable pillows ok. Tv is big big, my biggest gripe is no refrigerator in any room I've ever stayed in and when I'm in town for 4-5 days it would be nice to have. This time house keeping came daily my last visit they didn't come once. This time the bathroom sink the faucets were piped backwards. The hot was on the right not labeled and cold on the left. However hooked the piped under the counter made a boo boo ! I did also fine a large cockroach in the middle of the night when I turned the bathroom Light on. The shower gel dispense was empty and I had to ask for it to be refilled. Single ply cheap toilet paper etc. not worth the stay for the price anymore read more

Stayed here while visiting family and while the employees were incredibly friendly, the hotel was poorly lit and the rooms were awful. Very outdated, dusty, and just gross. We ended up asking to be switched to a cleaner room and it was only marginally better. Both rooms we saw had questionable red stains and threadbare carpeting. The first room someone had shoved paper in the peepholes and the air intake was dripping with dust. Each room had a whirlpool tub that had numerous hairs and had clearly not been cleaned. There was mold growing in the bathrooms and the air smelled off. If you went to pull the toilet paper from the roll the entire holder came out of the wall spewing what I hope was dust. The sheets were thin and the walls lacked basic upkeep. The staff did their best but the hotel itself needs a full face lift. We used the $30 a day credit for breakfast. The staff there was phenomenal and the food was decent. We really enjoyed talking to Bubba and he's the only reason I didn't leave 2 stars. Honestly this hotel is nothing like the other Doubletrees we've stayed at and makes me question if we will stay at another doubletree. read more

Just an okay place to stay. I stayed here for one night and glad I wasn't staying longer. The hotel is dated, the elevators need some serious help. Otherwise I felt that the room was pretty modern. The AC worked amazing which is always nice. The bathroom.. also needed some updating. The ceiling has plenty of old water stains and the wall looked like a child had plastered over it. I just have a couple of gripes about my stay: 1. There are no mini-fridges in the rooms! Maybe I just glossed over that fact or just assumed that every hotel has a mini-fridge, but nope- no mini-fridge. 2. After discovering I didn't have a mini-fridge, I headed over to the ice machine- out of order! I even walked down a floor and that one was also out of order. So I got to enjoy nice, warm drinks during my stay. I did stay during COVID and felt that they did a great job with following all the necessary protocols- social distancing, everyone wearing masks, the rooms are marked with a clean seal. They weren't offering their normal breakfast due to COVID, but they did say they had grab and go bags at the front desk. Though I didn't see any while I was passing through. Overall, I wouldn't stay here again. The hotel was in a great location, but that was about it. If you're loyal to Hilton, there is a new Home 2 Suites a few minutes away that I'd suggest staying at instead. read more

I am so disappointed with our recent stay. Upon entering, The lobby was clean. Check-in was a breeze and the front desk staff was pleasant. Now walking to our room you could smell an odor of mildew or old wet carpet or towels. Once we entered the room it appeared to be ok. Then my husband pointed out a stain on the carpet. I showered and once I got out I noticed a big cobweb. My husband also pointed out that the screws were coming out of the door. There was no trash can in the room. This place could use some renovations but most of all better housekeeping and maintenance. We cut our stay short and will not return until we've heard of improvements. read more

The rooms are completely outdated. The blankets and sheets have a tint to them. The wifi is terrible unless you are willing to pay money. They dump all of their money into the reception area to make you believe the rest of the hotel is nice, but if you just look at the first elevator you'll realize how old everything is about to be. read more

As I walked toward the other side of the room beyond the bed, I stepped on a blunt. No joke. This is a full size blunt of 3 - 4 inches. Not far from it, there is a piece of whitish substance. As I take a closer look, it seems like somebody's CLIPPED nail, possibly toenail. If you want to talk about disgusting... Now I have to question if they have even changed their bed sheets. GROSS! Im a life time Hilton Diamond guest...this means I have over 1000 nights in Hilton properties over a 10 year period. This is not the worst hotel I've stayed in ...but it's probably one of the worst Hilton properties. 1. The hotel is dated and really in need of a make over. The elevators look nasty ...like really nasty. they have a bunch of old stained furniture on floor 6 that looks to be 50 years old. 2. Due to covid the restaurant was closed. Ok I kinda get that ...but really every other restaurant in the US is open with social distance rules ...why not the hotel?......any way I came to the room prepared with food. No fridge in the room and no microwave...ok I know some properties don't have them....I ask the front desk for a microwave to heat my food. "There are no public microwaves in the hotel" ughhh 3. Soda machine on floor six would not accept my dollar....same with floor 5...floor 4 accepted my dollar but did not dispense a Coke. The place is not horrible if you like a motel 6 atmosphere....but I spent 3 nights here and would not recommend this place to anyone who is accustomed to Hilton quality stays ! Potenial fraud alert. Added erroneous hotel restaurant charges totalling $500 onto my husbands 3-night work stay. He didnt notice until trying to submit his govt expense report. Noticed the two $250 restaurant charges- he never ate at their restaurant. At this point he has called four times, been hung up on and is being avoided by management. No one wants to resolve the issue which leads me to believe this is a common occurrence and someone is committing fraud. I will escalate this to corporate and to the Better Business Bureau. Dont mess with peoples money. Disgraceful. read more

The room smelled so bad that I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I could barf. The furniture was all worn and scraped up. The light fixtures were all tilted and uneven. The police even showed up for a mid-afternoon party. Our hotel window had a viw of the indoor hallway for us to hear when people walked by. There was what looked like a blood stain on the shower curtain. There were holes in the shower tile. The artwork in the room was hideous. I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1, though, because the service was great and breakfast was amazing. read more

During my stay on 11/05/2018, everything went smoothly: clean room with modern HVAC system, friendly staff, complimentary toiletries in the bathroom, greeting with a warm cookie with nuts at the front desk, free parking, huge and inviting lobby, etc. There was a business center, which I didn't get to try. Some times is the simple things that ruin a hotel for me. In this case it's the complete lack of luggage carts. When you have a car full of luggage and a room on the 6th floor... there is an absolute need for one thing! Carts! Clearly there are 2 issues here. One people are assholes and take the carts and leave them in their rooms and two the hotel should have enough carts on hand to anticipate this issue. read more

Mold on the tubs and all the ac vents, the carpet doesn't appear to be vacuumed, the return ducts have filters that haven't been replaced in a LONG time and are improperly installed. The room I'm in was said to be renovated. I don't see any renovation, this room has seen better days. It says something when this hotel on yelp don't have any regulars. The staff seems nice so they deserve 2 stars, unfortunately they're left to deal with what they've been dealt. Can't say I would ever recommend anyone to stay here. Doubletree's I've stayed at are usually superb, there are some that are questionable. This one is on the top of that list read more

Boy do I love Hilton but I am going to have to immediately switch brands. I have been a committed and loyal Hilton Honors member for almost a decade. My stay at the Double Tree by Hilton 2651 Perimeter Parkway, Augusta, Ga 30909 has been a total disaster. Forget the warm cookies, I would rather stay somewhere that treats their guest warm and friendly. Considering that there are two Marriott properties right another the corner, I would advise others coming to the area to pick Marriott (Fairfield & Spring hill) and definitely not Hilton and for sure not the DoubleTree on Perimeter Parkway in Augusta. I am actual very sad as I have grown to enjoy looking forward to Hilton being a part of my travel memories. I will NOT be spending another dollar with Hilton! read more

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. When we got to out room, there was no power, but we were told not to worry because they would send up the maintenance guy at 10pm. He showed up right at 10pm! We also didn't have a comforter on the bed and were told "tough, there are no more blankets in the hotel since we are sold out". Luckily the maintenance guy brought a blanket at 10pm too. We woke up and went to Continental breakfast only to find that it was gone. No coffee, no food. When I asked, I was told it's first come first served and since it's free it's ok that they didn't save enough for everyone. Ugh!!! Of course I asked for the manager's business card but was told sorry, they don't have any of those. I like Hilton but this is f-ing ridiculous and I'm done. Heed my warning. Extremely disappointed in our stay at this hotel. We had a late check in - maybe 9pm ... only 1 guy at front desk & he wasn't friendly at all - he was watching videos on his phone & didn't bother to turn it off - just laid it on the counter with video still running while checking us in. Room was dirty... bathroom had hair all over & area around faucet had not been cleaned- back of toilet had (what appeared to be) urine on it. Shower curtain was stained. There was hair embedded in 2 of the washcloths & 1 hand towel. Comforter had 2 big stains on it... looked like old blood(?). Called front desk & nicely asked for another comforter. Waited an hour and a half - still no comforter... called front desk again - different guy answered... guess they had a shift change(?)... anyway - nicely explained situation to him and he said he'd be right up. He came up within a few minutes with a blanket. He was very nice & friendly. I'm usually not one to complain but this was unacceptable ... we travel quite a bit & this is one of the worst experiences ever as far as cleanliness. When we checked out, I told the desk clerk about it... she apologized & gave us a discount. Said she'd definitely address it with cleaning staff. This review is based purely on eating in the restaurant - note that I've never stayed here so I can't comment on the rooms. The hotel itself was built decades ago and the exterior and the architecture- while well maintained - is dated. Don't expect a sleek and modern look...and that's OK because it's the interior that's important. The lobby area and the restaurant are both well kept and while not ultra chic, they are comfortable, attractive and clean. The restaurant is large with multi levels and certain seats overlook the pool area. Three times we've eaten here for Thanksgiving dinner and I can recommend the food and service. The Thanksgiving buffet offers a cold food line which includes: pasta salads, seafood salads, regular salads, fruit, boiled shrimp, oysters on the half shell - beside this cold line are a selection of cheeses with crackers, seared ahi, smoked salmon and accoutrements. Entrees and side dishes are set up in a buffet line in the middle of the main restaurant seating area. The side dishes are what you expect: potato casserole, greens, macaroni and cheese, dressing and gravy, steamed mixed vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini mix) and the like. At the end of the line are the proteins - fish, roast beef, turkey and ham. If you still have room after all this, there's also a dessert line with several kinds of pie, cakes, cheesecakes and petit-fours. All our interactions with the staff have been two thumbs up - friendly and accommodating. The hotel is located very close to one of the area hospitals (Doctors Hospital), is less than 15 minutes' ride from the city's airport and a large shopping center is a five minute drive away. While the address is shown as Augusta, the hotel is located on the west side of the metropolitan area, closer to the suburbs of Martinez and Evans than to downtown. read more

They had a special for Valentine's Day which THEY celebrated for 2 weeks, price was upped significantly, and we asked what was special, and we were told nothing really, it's Valentine's 2 weeks celebration! The manager told Elin C. Greene that was true. So Double Tree manufactures a celebration, does NOTHING special, BUT raises the rates and we must pay them????? Listen up, Hilton Double Tree, we've come for seafood for many years and noticed a few cut backs every year, changes in menu offers on buffet (obviously it's a cost issue). It was still good until this year with your fake 2 week celebration!!! We walked out as did the customers before us. If I drive my wife on her birthday for something she enjoys to YOUR establishment, and you mock us as customers and dummies, uncouth people who came from the sticks of Allendale, SC, and you treat us as idiots, laugh in our faces, and claim you have the right, FINE, I have the right to tell people around the world who you are!!!! Worst hotel I've ever stayed at! Disgusting and dirty, my 10 year old daughter found dried BLOOD on her sheets. We were cold but couldn't shut off the air conditioner because someone ripped off the knobs. Room service and food was a joke, first they forgot one meal, then when they did bring it it was the wrong order. We tried to give them one last try but again brought the wrong order. BEDBUGS! I own a company and often travel to the Augusta, GA area to meet with employees and industry partners. When I am in town I always chose to stay at the Hilton Doubletree. Usually known for their excellent customer service, the Hilton Doubletree in Augusta failed this time, and will not see another reservation by my employees or me. When we woke up after our first night in room 607, while getting ready for work, we noticed something moving on the disturbed sheets. I was horrified upon further inspection to realize it was a bedbug. We immediately alerted the front desk and we were offered a new room. I went to the front desk to retrieve the new room keys and I asked to speak to the manager. She was not in yet but we were offered free breakfast buffet coupons for our troubles (we declined)(that isn't going to satisfy this situation). When the manager April arrived, we spoke with her and showed her our photographs. We requested the room charge be refunded and the clothing that was on the floor be steam-cleaned. April said they use an external company to come in to verify that there are bedbugs and that she will contact us. We waited until mid-afternoon for April to contact us, but she never phoned so we contacted her. As of 2pm the external company had not responded to the hotel, the clothing was not cleaned, and no other action was taken. We immediately decided to check out of this hotel. We contacted the Richmond County Health Department to report the bedbugs. I posted a review and photos on YELP along with this site. While checking out the manager, April, was disinterested with the situation and unwilling to do anything to assist us. Please see the provided photos. The pictures support bedbugs and the mattress stains (bedbug excrement) are a definitive sign of bedbugs. Upon check-in at our new hotel we immediately unpacked all of the bags and performed a thorough inspection. We found several hitchhikers, which I stored, in a plastic water bottle. We had to cancel our planned dinner with employees and spent the next 8 hours washing and drying our clothes in the hotels laundry room. Upon arriving home all of our luggage and backpacks stayed in the garage. Again all of the clothing was put through multiple high-temp, sanitary-setting washes. They were also dried with the highest heat settings. The luggage was sealed in multiple plastic trash bags. The dry-clean only clothing was placed into extra-large Ziploc bags and placed in the freezer. Shoes, belts, iPad cases, neoprene laptop cases, ect. were also placed into Ziploc bags and stored in the freezer. All of this time, money, and effort is to ensure that the Doubletree's bedbugs do not infect my home. All of this time, money, and effort because of the Hilton Doubletree's complete lack of oversight, quality assurance and room cleanliness standards. I find it unbelievable that the Doubletree did not respond with an urgent, concerned, and/or compassionate manner. We are disgusted with how the Hilton Doubletree handled this situation. Based on this situation our employees are being informed of our experience and instructed to use Sheraton or Marriott properties for official travel. I hope you will read this and choose another provider for your stay as well. read more

I enjoyed my stay, not nearly as bad as the reviews state. I mean I entered in to this place scared to death. The rooms were well maintained and clean. Our room had a great view of the plaza across the street, which made for a nice city type view at night. The room service was great, we ordered from the restaurant downstairs a few times. Entry to room light not functioning, the carpet was tattered across the entry way to the room, the facets in the bathroom took a Herculean effort to operate, topping all of this there was a wad of chewing gum stuck on the nightstand. Pretty disappointed with my stay here. First they have a shortage on towels. You are Hilton. This is what you do. Do better. 2) Yesterday the water to our room was turned off for 6 hours. Maintenance issue that was eventually fixed but still a major pain. 3) Went to front desk to get quarters to do team uniforms for the laundry. They don't have quarters at the front desk and the only place to get them is at the bar at the hotel which is supposed to open at 5pm. Unfortunately the bartender hasn't showed up for work and we're going on 7:15 so no where to get quarters in the hotel to do laundry. Really? How about the manager just figure out a solution? 4) lastly they have one washer and dryer in the entire hotel and it's out of service. Of course it is. Just like a lot of other things in this hotel. My wife, mother in law, and I came for their Mother's Day Buffet. The only food that I would call decent was the salad/cold bar. The oysters, mussels, shrimp, and crab salad were pretty good but the prime rib was overcooked and tasted more like a Kroger bought beef roast. The vegetables were overcooked and cafeteria grade. Yea, Piccadilly would have been a better choice. The desserts were good but tasted like they had been previously frozen. The service, on the other hand, was very good. They were friendly and responsive. They bumped my rating up to a 3. BTW, the coffee sure tasted good following the meal. We will not be coming back anytime soon. read more

The hot tub was broken despite them telling us it was in full swing. The pool was literally falling apart and incredibly dirty. The only reason that we came to the hotel was to go to the hot tub because of my mothers knee. They told us that same day that it was working fine, but it did not work at all, apparently. Then, even to get a hot bath, the water would not stay hot and the blankets were incredibly scratchy and there was dried blood on the comforter. Not a good stay like you'd imagine from a Double Tree. They gave us breakfast but that doesn't do anything for the amount of issues that we have. read more
