Hotel was undergoing renovations but it did not negatively impact our stay. Our room had a good view of the river. We did order from the hotel restaurant and were pleasantly impressed with what we ordered. I had the Mediterranean salad with grilled shrimp, which is what the bartender suggested) and it was AMAZING!! I came home trying to duplicate it and cannot quite get the flavor like theirs. My Mother had the calamari and it was good as well. We enjoyed the concierge lounge and were very pleased with the breakfast offerings and the young lady that worked there was so nice. If we are ever staying in Augusta again, I would definitely stay here again AND order the salad (it was just that good!!)!! read more

Two words -- Terrible; Avoid. If I could rate this hotel ZERO STARS, I absolutely would. We came for a family reunion (hotel was chosen for us by our reunion host). Avoid at all costs. The staff seem to be oblivious, apathetic, and surprised by issues that are obviously old. My belief is that this Marriott only cares about the business that they bring in for their meeting and event spaces. One room had water damage and mold, along with disgusting sheets. The second room had a leaking toilet -- resulting in the water being turned off. The last room smelled like sewage. My first time ever staying in Augusta but it was a short overnight stay. Valet was ok not the fastest but I didn't call ahead either when needing my car. Check in was fast and efficient with no problems. The bed was comfortable and room large but shower pressure low. Great access to river walk but I did not have time to enjoy plus a huge storm caused lots of rain. Front desk person that checked me in did not give me any information about WiFi, gym location, lounge access and hours until I asked. I did not eat dinner at restaurant but had desert. It was amazing and one of best cheesecakes I have had. Next time I come I would ask for breakfast voucher to restaurant as I was not impressed at all with the food in the lounge. read more

The problem list is long for a one night stay. Requested early arrival and foam pillows days before arrival. Waited in the lobby for over 2 hours on arrival, due to full capacity the prior day and the pillow request (per front desk staff that just didn't care to help). In the room, the closet door literally fell off the hinges when I opened it. Then the bedroom TV wouldn't clearly connect to any channels. Then the pillows were all feather (wife is allergic to them) anyway. Then no manager was available to resolve issues. Haven't checked out yet, so the list could grow. read more

Beautiful hotel, we had a suite and it was perfection. spacious, well designed, very, very restful. Crisp linens, very clean, various types of perfect lighting, indirect ambient lighting behind headboard was very cool! The suites are in another tower, and the directions to get there were rather vague. Luckily we found it, but they need to provide a map. The biggest drawback is Augustino Restaurant's food, and it is the only option. .....Long day, ordered room service, 1.5 hrs to get inedible food. Ordered pasta shells stuffed with ricotta and tomato sauce. Tasted like dense pasta dough. (Did not detect ricotta cheese at all, think they forgot it.) There was 1 teaspoon of sauce. Kid you not. Added salmon, ordered medium, came cooked to a dried out Blackened inedible piece of fish. Worse pasta of my life. Says a lot about a restaurant if they can't even prepare a simple pasta. So 5 stars to the hotel, and 5 NEGATIVE stars to restaurant. They need to re-think that place, as all guests are stuck with it. read more

I came to this hotel for a wedding in the area. Check-in was easy. The front desk did a great job of directing me where to park and made sure I had a room available for early check-in (which I had requested a couple days prior). My room was nice. The bathroom was a bit outdated and didn't seem fully clean. I happened to see the housekeeper in the hall so she cleaned my bathroom for me. The hotel is huge so there was a lot of walking but I was able to get my bearings pretty quickly. I would come back to this hotel. However, I would hope that the bathroom is a bit more on point. On top of it not being as clean, there was no robe or slippers in my room, plus I had two shampoos and no body wash. All minor things but this just seems to be a place where the hotel is slipping. read more

1. I was never acknowledged or thanked for being a Titanium member. 2. Bedding I asked for was placed outside my door (no dnd was on the door). So instead of bringing them in they were placed with no bag around them on the dirty carpeted floor on the side of my door. 3. We were then brought up a flammable blanket with holes in it. 4. The second day, with my dnd sign on the door I mentioned to the cleaning person, (Rashonda Westin) to discontinue placing signs on my door to remind me I can have cleaning...she stated she will do it again. Our conversation got heated...She went to get her manager and became more aggressive. Told me I had the right one...etc... 5. The front desk manager called my room and was very argumentative....told me what happened...did not allow me to speak. Was in town 3 nights at end of May & this was a pretty good stay. I was in the Tower Suites, which was a bit confusing to get to & park at first (terrible map provided on check-in) but turned out not to be that hard to navigate after figuring it out. Ended up very close to room from parking garage beneath (be careful in garage - the concrete posts are notorious for jumping out & creasing your door if not careful pulling in to spaces). Otherwise, room was fine, no complaint on noise. And that shower! Has to be the strongest water pressure I've ever had at a hotel & the drain worked well. read more

3.75 stars. The Augusta Marriott is comfortable and convenient, but it's a bit tired and could use a minor facelift. Located right on the waterfront, the August Marriott has a premiere location in downtown Augusta. It's just a few short blocks from Broadway and all the little restaurants and bars, and access to the Riverwalk is literally right out the front door. The lobby and bar areas are warm and welcoming, with a Starbucks right off the main area. The bartenders are great, and they serve food until 10pm. The meatballs were off-the-hook, and the Marriott burger is big and tasty. We did not visit the hotel's Italian restaurant this time, but if the meatballs are any indication of the rest of their food, then Augustino's is a decent spot. Parking is in a garage that has the tightest parking spots on the planet. Be careful, and good luck! The river view from room (suite) 629 is great. Our upgraded suite was comfortable, for sure, but there things that kinda needed attention. Like the thermostat that was missing digits. Try setting a temp when you are not sure of the first number... Also, the WC had a weird mish mosh of towel hangars - some metal, some plastic. The original door brass handles were on some doors, while other knobs and handles were in brushed stainless. It looks like some upgrades have taken place while some items are still the legacy hardware. An occasional table in the room had def seen some better days. As a Marriott fan with Lifetime Titanium Elite status, all of these items are not and should not be representative of the Marriott brand. Unless you're taking your shower during the high-use morning hours expect a luke-warm (at best) shower. On this most recent visit housekeeping changed out our towels but did not perform any other services. In a post-covid world that sometimes is the norm, but when I called downstairs for a clarification the front desk admitted that this hotel has full daily service, and that they just dropped the ball. We'd come back, but the rooms in this hotel could use a bit of an upgrade. read more

So impressed with the service and room on this property. My husband travels a lot for work and holds high ranking at several hotel chains but after our stay at this property he made the comment, I might need to let those other hotels go. When we arrived the guy at the front desk was very nice and had a great sense of humor. It was late and we had been driving all day. I was tired and he lifted my mood. He even upgraded our reservation without me asking. It was wonderful. Our room had a beautiful view! The room was clean and the bathroom had several travel size items that covered our needs. I can't say enough about the Marriott bedding and mattresses in general, it's as comfortable as sleeping in your own bed at home. We always get a good night sleep at Marriott and this property was no exception. In the morning we had breakfast vouchers but the restaurant didn't open for 25 minutes and we wanted to get back on the road. The Starbucks in the lobby was open and the voucher was good there. The guy at the Starbucks this morning was so friendly. His service went above and beyond. He really gave our morning a great start. If we travel this way again, we're definitely staying at this property. Great job to the team at this Marriott! read more

Went to attend an MLK Breakfast. The ballroom where it was held looks like it could hold 500 people EASY! The food line moved pretty quickly and food stations rarely went empty for long. They were replenished pretty quickly. While the food process went quickly, the program itself did not. But that's not of the hotel's doing. I stayed here and we had our wedding reception and events here. The entire experience was great. The staff are responsive, kind, and very understanding of your needs. The food is delicious and the meetings and banquet halls are ideal for any occasion--large or small. You will not be disappointed. The location is stellar and close all of that downtown has to offer. It would be a great host hotel for your need. I believe they pour so much into their event planning services that the rooms can updating to bring it to boutique hotel/five-star status. It is not there yet but is at least 3.5 to 5 starts. It is likely the best hotel in Augusta due to its charm and decor but Hyatt House up the street and around the corner may be more modern. I've gone here for several events while growing up in Augusta and the Marriott has always offered an elegant experience. read more

The first thing I notice walking in to this hotel is the lobby. It's definitely stunning. South side, country style stunning. That stair case wins. I also love the fact that it's located right by the river walk. Parks and Recreational spots like these are super fashionable now. Specially the fact that I love to go out for a nice run. Anyways, the rooms are really nice. Very modern,, theres a chase and a table. Big giant dresser to put my things in. The TV is the best part,,, smart tv that you can input your account in if you want to watch. Best thing about it is that HBOgo is free. I got to catch up on my Westworld during my down time. The bed was super comfy, the bathroom was super relaxing and my stay was superb. I would totally love to come back here and stay again. Management here seems incompetent. From customer service to guest services the structure lacks organization. I wouldn't want to not recognize some of the staff cause there were a couple that stood out but leadership is few far and between. I'm here for a Shriners convention and it's been a total disaster. They knew the size of people that would be coming to this event and were not properly prepared. We sat in the restaurant for an hour and 10 mins waiting on food. The reason for the delay was that they did not have enough food. The management acted as though they did not care. The registration desk was/is unable to handle the influx of people. I do have to commend the housekeeping staff on their efforts. They are moving at warp speed and cleaning with efficiency. BEWARE TRAVELERS! Dangerous area & apathetic staff! My bag was stolen from the lobby of this hotel last week, as I was trying to call Marriott Bonvoy at check in, since their credit card machines weren't working properly. Upon talking to security, I was informed that security cameras were NOT WORKING on property! I filled out a report with security and was told that I would get a call back in 1-2 days. Nobody every called me back, and when I called 7 days later I was told that it was probably one of "the homeless people in the area who took it". There is a STRONG UNHOUSED population in the area, and I was very worried even leaving my car in the unsecured parking lot. The food and the staff at the Augustino's restaurant on property were the only saving grace of this property that has certainly seen better days. The property is dated and needs updating, and the area is not safe for families or business travelers. BEWARE!! read more

Nice hotel that's not too far from restaurants and a nice view of the water. There are two separate entrances. The main entrance which is the lobby and the front desk. There is also a restaurant/bar here as well, which has good food. Parking is also free if you have a room. You use your room key to enter and exit the parking lots. Indoor and outdoor were available which is nice. The outdoor parking can accommodate larger vehicles. The other entrance does not have a staff front desk and is also the same level as the pool. There was a Quizno's here too but it never seemed to be open. This entrance leads out to nice view of the water and there's a restaurant right across the street from the hotel. The rooms were nice and clean. Modern enough with microwaves and fridges which is nice. The washers and dryers were free I believe but not positive. So was the detergent and softener. read more

Very nice hotel located downtown Augusta. It is conventiently adjacent to the riverwalk and Amphitheater on the river. The hotel bookends the convention center. The main hotel and Angostino's restaurant at one end and Marriott suites at the other end with the convention center in between the two. Super friendly staff. I use mobile check when it is available. It is available at this location but it did not work for me. The Suites is quitea walk from the main hotel. No one appears to staff the lobby at Suites when there are no major events happening. I called over to the main hotel and they walked a key over to me which was very nice. Overall, good stay and very nice hotel. read more

Now let me start Witb this... the rooms on the suite side need revamping. There are two sides to this hotel. There are rooms in the main tower and suites in another tower and boy can you say out of style. I understand the rooms are being renovated so maybe they are already in the process. I'll just leave it at that. Now! The hotel in itself is is amazing. The two buildings are connected by the convention center. The ambiance is set of royalty and the staff is truly amazing. Everybody... and I do mean everybody who spoke was respectful. The workout facility is nice. They have access to the river walk and there is a museum across the street. The restaurant called @Augustino's was excellent. A lot of choices and the staff was very friendly. Kudos to the @Marriott staff in Augusta. If you are ever in August Ga. Stop by and visit. Pros: lit up parking garage for $13 a day, next to the Savannah River, next to the Boll Weevil (local restaurant, clean bed/mattress, quiet. Complimentary shuttle ride to airport. Cons: disgusting floor. I will 100% put money in that they don't clean their floors so I pushed the rugs away to not even walk on them. They do have disinfecting wipes in the rooms, so I cleaned my own floors. I used a Lyft driver to get to and from the VA... and one evening there were ZERO DRIVERS. I was stuck for 2 hours, calling taxi cabs (which, I am still waiting for them to call me back). I called Marriott and they told me they couldn't pick me up... I spoke with the shuttle driver the next day and he apologized and said that if a guest needs help that they do assist. I don't know if that's true or not. read more

The staff here is incredibly helpful and sweet. They really make you feel at home. The rooms are very clean and modern...so fancy! I love it! My room was by the elevator and the first night (Thurs) was quiet... The others..not so much. I had unwanted wakeup calls from loud guests in the hallway, a screaming child next door, and a deaf neighbor watching TV on the other side. Not the hotel's fault but next time, I'm asking for a room allllll the way at the end. And another plus, free shuttle to/from the airport. My driver was Joseph and he's the best. He gave suggestions on where to eat/what to do and at the end of the trip, asked how everything went. Thanks Marriott for a great stay! read more

Last year I was at the Marriott , they make us to minimum stay 7 days , we agree , we have tickets for the Masters , my experience at these hotel was horrible , the place was very nice but dusty and dirty but the room was so dirty and I ask the front desk to clean the room , and one night job was fine , but the rest of my stay was horrendous , I have to talk to 3 different managers to get my room clean , but they only strengthen the bad and throw the garbage at the toilet , I'm not sure what is wrong with the upper management that they don't pay attention to the horrible situation they have at the Cleanning situation read more

Very disappointing I made prior arrangements through Mai Bonvoy account with Marriott Fort Smith with a confirmation number only to arrive a couple hours later and find out that there was none available. Then I put in a room only to find out that they gave me the wrong room which I promptly spoke with the manager to clear up. They gave me two free breakfast vouchers which is OK it's just that this is one of the better hotels in Augusta and refined it be lacking in its organization and accuracy of booking is problematic. I almost exclusively at Marriott properties it's been a while since I've been at this location they have renovated but they need better help in the front end of the Hotel. read more

We stayed in this hotel a few months back, and were very pleased with that stay, so we decided to stay there again. We had our son with us this time, so reserved a suite. From the very beginning, our stay was vastly different from the first; the front desk agent who checked us in never looked up from his computer when speaking with us, even when we asked a question, we received a "No" with no further details and again, he never even looked at us. Our 18-year old even remarked on it and asked why he was so rude. Next, our room was nothing short of gross. We had very little time to get ready and be at a family function, so we had to make it work. Besides the filth of the room, we were missing bathroom supplies (empty Kleenex box, no body wash, and only one washcloth) so I called down to request these immediately. Leaving for our event 1.5hours later, we never received the missing supplies. Once back in our room that night (it was late) we were going to bed and I opened one of the water bottles and drank from it, to take my medicine. I immediately realized something was wrong with the water (at the same time I noticed the taste was wrong I realized I didn't hear the click of the seal when I opened it). Inspecting the other, "unopened" bottle, it was clear to my husband and myself that it was not a new bottle of water. The water was filled completely up to the top, the seal was not intact, and there was drops of water on and around the lid. We have never been so disgusted in a Marriott hotel and will never return to this location. I'm attaching pictures of the filth on the bathroom floor, someone's partial fake eyelashes on the counter beside the coffee pot, and the bottle of water that was not new. DISGUSTING !!!! read more

Here for a conference and living through a tropical storm where we are told that we are the only hotel with power so we are able to continue with a glitch! Another frequent flyer trip to Augusta Marriott as always it's good to see some familiar faces at the Marriott.. First I like to thank Brianna front desk staff for taking care of me upon my arrival. This visit comes with saying goodbye to a love one. The riverwalk is always a spectacular view and meeting new people. Having to deal with the stress of losing a love one and then come to the place you call home for 4 days and find these problems in your room doesn't make for the peace you are looking to have as you turn in for the night.This visit had a lot of problems there needs to be some restructuring as well as classes of customer service among other Marriott staff security on nights. Ants and water leaking into rooms aren't acceptable. I booked 2 rooms at this hotel and usually I always have impeccable service. It's the principal of the matter and as long as Marriott is behind the name my expectations are high and I expect nothing but the best.Management was informed and stated they would follow up with the complaint.
