Debbie is a pathetic excuse of an employee. I went in to see if they could help me EXCHANGE a cooking tray that was missing 2 out of the 3 pieces it was supposed to contain. I was pointed in the direction with a disgusting demeanor. Not once was I offered assistance from her or her lackluster staff. I observed the way she was even speaking to guest at checkout - she has zero people skills. I understand we all go through things in life, but if you work in customer service, show up for the job you are being compensated for. She is a disgrace. read more

I've always found the selection and overall organization of this HomeGoods to be great! They frequently carry overstock Moleskine notebooks, designer dog accessories, and very reasonable framing. I've walked away with an epic Dune Monopoly game, mid century modern-style dog bed, and fountain pen/planner set. There's always something new to be found when you visit! Service is always stellar here no matter how busy they get. Sometimes there's a security guard at the door and he always greats you as you're coming in. This HomeGoods also does a good job recognizing customers who make donations during checkout, which I think is a thing worth celebrating! This store is conveniently located in the shops at Rossmoor with plenty of parking and meal choices after you've worked up your appetite walking around. That said, it can get busy so I find it easier to park towards the middle of the plaza. The only drawback (if we can call it that) of this strip mall is that it's nearly a complete dead zone for cell service, let alone internet. So bear that in mind if you enjoy sharing your finds in real time with friends and family! read more

Amazing selection of snacks, kitchenware, home decor, and 1k options of fluffy blankets to add to the collection. Great assortment to make a house warming, birthday, etc gift basket. Furniture is a hit or miss on pricing. Some of it is vastly overpriced for the quality but it's cute and may not last a long time. I appreciate the full aisle of pet supplies, toys, etc. Typically it's an after thought or something filling the end caps. Love extra big locations in the suburbs. This is houseware heaven from dishes to framed wall hangings to some furniture, and rugs, Nice section of individual Mikasa pieces. A mug collector would go nuts here. I would buy more if I had the space. Peanuts and Sanrio. I see soup bowls with microwaveable lids and ramen bowls are popular. Some ramen sets even come with chopstick rests! For holiday shopping, I was overwhelmed by choices - looked for chocolates, snacks and nicely packaged tea sets. I see the same cookie tins here at World Market for less. It's so easy to spend a lot of time here browsing all their sections. Naturally whatever similar section you'd find at Marshall's a few stores down, it's bigger here. One irritation - They announced on the loudspeakers whenever a customer donated $ at check out to a children's hospital. When I paid, the otherwise nice employee had an attitude because I declined opening a card and donation to St. Jude's. I once bought a small end table clock here. Currently in 11/2024 there a no wall clocks. Great place for presents and exercising self-control in home decorating, all at a discount! read more

Large HomeGoods store in Seal Beach, located in an large strip mall with other anchors like Kohl's and Burlington Coat Factory. This means there is plenty of surface lot parking. There are some nice comfortable couches in the front of the store. Unfortunately, cell reception inside is bad and there is no store wifi. So ended up sitting outside, enjoying the weather while my wife shopped for inspiration to decorate our home. She found a nice, pre-framed piece of art, which we will place above our fireplace. read more

Had amazing stuff and a great selection but the worst customer service from the "manager" looking lady with the red hair and glasses. She was so rude and extremely distasteful. There were a few moments I caught her rebuking children in the store and even our own. My two boys were sitting while watching something on the phone so they don't distract or make a ruckus but she comes along and says to get my sons feet off the chair he's sitting on saying she needs to sell it. Which I completely understand but they way she said it was SO rude and made it a very unpleasant and uncomfortable shopping experience. As I was checking out, I told my older son to go out to my wife as I pay and as he is leaving there's a tall skeleton with its arm pertrude highly and as any young boy would, pretended to reach for the skeleton as he was walking past and immediately the lady scolded him saying Hey! Someone paid for that! And I didn't hear the rest but it was demeaning and as she comes to the clerk where I'm at makes a snarky comment so I can hear saying people don't even take care of their kids and don't look after them. I was infuriated by the way her customer service or lack of was towards our family and I hope someone that's in charge of her rebukes her or teaches her how to manage a store. read more

HomeGoods has become my therapy session. I hate to break it to you but retail therapy is real...and it works. It seems I've taken up cooking even more so in the past year. Since the beginning of the pandemic, many of us had to cook more at home. Sadly so many retailers and home stores were closed in the start of the pandemic. And fortunately they are open now. State and CDC guidelines still requires us to all take mask-wearing and social distancing requirements seriously so please follow this so we can all move on with our lives safely. Arrows are marked on the floor so again, please follow the directions. Make it easier for your fellow shoppers. We are in this together. Let's keep the flow going :) The store is pretty stocked up in every department. You start off with the garden shop up in the front. Some nice outdoor furniture just in time for summer. Then you move on to the barware, tabletop, gourmet foods (my favorite!), pots and pans, a plethora of kitchenware. Then bath and bedding...it goes on. If you were able to walk out of HomeGoods without buying anything, you are not human. Serious. You can do yourself a favor and apply for the TJX rewards credit card. This was a fun store to browse. There were so many holiday decorations, I wanted to buy them all! Some of the aisles seemed narrow and crammed together. There were some aisles where there was so much product on the shelves, it was hard to get something off the shelf without other items falling off. Some of the clearance sections had items that obviously should have been on clearance, but were not tagged accordingly. For example, the valentines clearance display had multiple valentines items that were not yet tagged as clearance even though half the items were tagged. Trying to find the checkout line entrance was confusing and there were many other shoppers just standing around blocking the entry way. read more

I no longer feel comfortable shopping at this location. I was here on 4-28-23 in the evening looking to purchase a pot. While I was in the pots and pans section, two men were hanging about near me "pretend" shopping. They were acting weird. I don't know if they're trying to pickpocket from me or trying to do something perverted like record up my butt. I went to two other aisles to browse, and THERE THEY WERE AGAIN NEAR ME!!! ..."Pretend" shopping and acting like they could be sexual predators. As a woman, that is unnerving. I didn't stay long to continue shopping. I just purchased my pot and quickly left. I won't be shopping here again. It's too bad because I shop here a lot and love the store for their amazing selection. I just don't feel safe. Ladies, watch out for two men in their 30s that just follows you to every aisle you go to! Be vigilant! read more

Was turned away at the door because I had my two dogs with me. I was never asked if they were service animals and when I asked it this was a policy across their company at all stores I was told yes. Just to check, I called several other locations and dogs ARE ALLOWED! They need to have consistent policies across all stores. read more

My review of this place will be much like my review of cost plus..... Yea there's plates, bedding, pictures, utensils.... who the eff cares. While my wife walks around looking at those things I head to the left side of the store, just a few aisles from the door. Why? Gourmet foods and snacks! Hell mutha effen yea! After spending a fortune at Mr. Marcel's at the LA farmers market, I was shocked and pissed when I found all of the same stuff here at Home Goods for 1/4th the price. You'll also find food items that Williams Sonoma sells. They have coffee, tea, vinegars, oils, mustards, fancy salts, dry rubs, marinades, cocktail mixes, nuts, candies (route 22, jelly bellies, and other expensive brands), pasta, pasta sauces, and more!!! This time around I bought Rufus Teague's "Meat Sauce" and "Meat Rub". I got some route 22 brand candies ($9.99 in Cambria, $3 here). I picked up 2 boxes of Numi tea, 2 bottles of DJ Jardine's Red Snapper Bloody Mary mix, and some DJ Jardine's picante salsa. Ooohhhhh yea! As far as the rest of the store is concerned, this place makes a great xmas shopping location. You can pick up some nice yet cheap bowls, pasta and sauce and make a nice gift basket. I love HomeGoods and the atmosphere that it provides! I have a peaceful and fruitful experience every-time I am there. With this past visit at the Seal Beach location, though I was able to find exactly what I was looking for, the service from an employee was extremely distasteful. Debbie, the store's coordinator I believe, was extremely short and rude while checking out my mom and I. It seemed as though any task/question my mom asked of her was meet with a sigh. There was a simple mistake made on our side that could of easily been rectified, but instead of alleviating the situation she said "sorry, nothing I could do about it" and proceeded to wrap up our transaction. On the other hand, I had a delightful experience I had with a different employee, Meadow. She was such a pleasure. read more

This review is for someone named Laurie who was working in the register. From the moment I walked to the register, no greeting. I told her that I wanted to do a simple return (like I had in the past with no issue) and it turned into her lecturing me about not having my card that I initially paid with. All the other home goods offer to put the refund in a gift card and LAURIE made a huge deal about it and started to give me attitude. Unacceptable behavior, just do your job! I hope management speaks to her about improving on customer service. I also had a gut feeling she was acting this way because I'm Hispanic! read more

We have been shopping for different pieces of furniture are our respective HomeGoods stores in SoCal but had no such luck. We decided to try our luck at Seal Beach and we were not disappointed. We were amazed of their excellent customer service. All and I really mean all, of the employees we spoke to were nice and accomidating. You hardly meet people who are genuinely courteous, patient, and accomidating let alone all three. The store is clean, organized, well staffed, and with a great selection of items. We found everything we needed. Even though we found ourselves having a hard time deciding on a large piece of furniture, not once did we feel rushed. Plenty of parking space to load up items. Nice store, crappy customer service. Thank you to cashier Caitlin for ruining what was otherwise a pleasant shopping trip. Power tripped about me supposedly having the wrong form of merchandise card from another store, then "agreed" to let me use it (as if it's my fault the other store gave me the wrong thing and she's doing me a favor), and then cops a total attitude when I asked for her to fix the issue so that I wouldn't have a problem the next time I used the card. She alluded to it being some big problem before I got her to just fix it. Then it turns out the problem was simply that my name wasn't written on the card... Simple as that... way to blow out of proportion something so inconsequential. Literally lips pursed, pissed off look on her face, dismissively looking away when I was thanking her for freaking writing my name a stupid card for store credit... Note to Caitlin: If you're going to give a customer a hard time about a (non) problem that is totally out of their control, be prepared to help fix it... without the hyperbole and rude attitude. read more

I hate it when big retailers have archaic rules and crappy systems that make being their customer unattractive. I've always loved Home Goods but today I question my loyalty. Bought a quilt last Saturday, my husband happened-to be with me so he paid with his card. Returned it today to find that they won't refund unless you HAVE that exact card to enter into their machine. SERIOUSLY I've returned things to other stores (Nordstrom to name one) and they don't require the card - they reverse the charge without the physical card. She offered to give me a gift card. NO I just want to return the quilt. Now I have to go BACK, with him and his card. Seriously people/ if you're going to play in the big leagues invest in software from this century and update your return policy so you don't alienate customers. {disgusted} read more

I went to homegoods today, and I went to the line to check out. I was waiting in a long line but no problem obviously. The tv that tells you which spot to go to said " cashier number 1 please " with a big number one on the screen. We go over there, and there was someone at number one so we waited around. One lady told us that the line was back there and i told her that the screen said number 1 on it and that the lady wasn't ready. Just to make it easier after someone left we went to number 3. The lady at number 3 ( I didn't catch her name ) gave us EXTREME ATTITUDE. The lady at register 2 AND REGISTER 1 Told us very very rudely " the line is over there " in the rudest stern tone. Myself and the person that came along with me felt very attacked and ganged up upon. I told her exactly what happened. " the screen said one we walked over and number one wasn't open." She gave me the ugliest look and didn't look me in the eye or anything no sorry no anything and just went " ok. " checked us out and didn't even greet us fair well or anything. I thought it was all in my head but it wasn't until i saw a review about a girl saying that a she felt racially profiled because she was Hispanic. This homegoods needs talk to their employees and instead of automatically blaming the customer at least trying to see what happened before jumping to conclusions. If you are a person of color be aware when you come to this one. These white laddies ruined this one for me! read more

I've shopped at Home Goods stores all throughout LA County with my dog in tow and never had any problems...until I passed through the Orange Curtain into the desolate suburban wasteland that is Los Alamitos. I was immediately stopped at the door and interrogated about whether my dog is a service dog or not and told only service dogs are permitted if you want to buy sheets, or towels, or oddly enough, pet supplies. Since this is the only location where I've had this issue, I'm assuming this is not a corporate policy but rather a specific manager's policy. Needless to say, I'll stick with my tried and true locations in LA. read more
