This review is not for the store employees, they were great. This review is for the supervisor on duty last night. I believe her name was Rose, or something similar to that. We tried to purchase an item that was broken in two different places, but my son had to have it. We asked for a discount, but the cashier was unable to do it himself, so he called for the supervisor on duty to approve it. That was understandable. The cashier next to him was even apologetic for Rose taking so long. She called for her again. Finally, Rose came to the registers with an attitude. She said what do you need? I tried to radio you. As if she was too busy to do her job as a supervisor. She came over to us, with the look like we woke her up out of a dead sleep. What's wrong with it? We explained to her the piece of the nut cracker that was broken. She said 10% off. Really? For a broken item that she inspected, as if it were a brand new car off the lot that she purchased and wanted to make sure there were no scratches. Like I said, if my son didn't want the item so bad, we would have walked out. We said we'd take it. So she went to the pricing machine, made up a price tag and brought it back to the register. She set it down on the counter and walked away. She did not say a single word to us again. She didn't even say a word to the cashier, until he asked is that it? She said what else do you need? He asked if that was all that needed to be done. She said well, did you ring it up? She was an absolute b****. She needs to be sent to management 101. She lacks respect and management skills. I feel sorry for your employees who have to deal with her. I can't believe she still has a job. I'm sure you have probably even lost potential great employees because of her. Do your customers, employees, and your company a big favor by giving her a farewell party and final paycheck. read more

Aww yeah, this place rocks! Its like TJ Maxx minus all the clothes! I came here upon recommendation of a girlfriend and my intent was to find new wall art for my home. I ended up walking out of here with a whole bunch of stuff for the kitchen and even a new chair for the living room! Lines were short and customer service was very polite, knowledgeable and friendly. I decided to check this Homegoods location out while I was in Vacaville shopping for the day. It's located in the Nut Tree Plaza and easy to get to from the freeway. I came in around 10:00am and they were too busy yet. The store is a little unique because it's attached to a Marshals and so you can walk back and forth from one store to the other because they are open to each other inside. The Homegoods side of the store was about the same size as other Homegoods locations I had been to. They were well stocked on the Friday when I went in and weren't picked over at all. The store was also organized well with not many things out of place which I'm sure is hard to do with as many people a day who come in here! Otherwise this location is set up like and carries the same merchandise of all other Homegoods locations that I have been to. I would come back to this one if in the area again. read more

HomeGoods - Random goodness - Department Stores Near Me - Vacaville, California

Been looking everywhere for dish drying mats and this store had a wonderful selection of them at a great price. Love browsing the home decor section. Items on shelves could be arranged better. Bought a few lanterns with a metal top that were slightly bent to accommodate the shelf height. Managed to straighten that part out with a pliers when I got home so it looks so much better than it did at the store. My cashier was very nice, pleasant and smiled. read more

I really enjoy the time I spend shopping at Home Goods, especially during the holidays. The checkers are pleasant and efficient. During my checkout today, my cashier was Anthony, a capable and helpful young man. I would have even expected he might be the manager of the store - until I saw the writing on his name badge. It was "In Training." Yep, just like that - each word capitalized as if it were his actual name. I was really taken back. I asked him his name so I could thank him for his friendly help with my purchase. I am saddened that management at Home Goods denied this hard-working man his name simply because he is in training. I am also disappointed that management would feel the need to strip this man of the name his own mother gave him at birth just so we could be reminded to be more patient and kind with him during his in-store training. Anthony, I hope you get the chance to read this, because one day you may very well be the next Home Goods manager and you will see to it that non of your employees are labeled as no one in particular. read more

While the San Francisco social set have to wait until the end of the season for the Neiman Marcus "Last Call" sale, there is no need to wait at HomeGoods, as each day is a sale. Discounted designer bedding, towels, glassware and throw pillows abound and these ladies (and some gentlemen) are serious shoppers, seeking out the best prices on holiday and home decor while giving home decorating tips to one another as they shop. As I was checking out, proud of the Ralph Lauren sea grass mats that I had sourced from the rug department, two separate ladies walked over from their respective checkout counters and started to inspect the rugs, eyeing one another as if they had been caught wearing the same Oscar de la Renta couture gown on opening night at the Symphony. One commented on the beautiful colors, another asked if they had larger sizes, as she was contemplating buying one to place her "bearskin rug" on top of. I felt as if I had arrived ... I was accepted as one of them, now the debutante ball could to be planned and thank goodness for HomeGoods, as they had party favors at deeply discounted prices. read more

The management is terrible there, they don't know what they're doing and they are very unorganized and I feel they don't actually care about the workers and customers because there's always so many people in the store way more than they should be allowing. It's surely a trap! I actually avoid this store because I can never leave empty-handed! Everything is so darn cute and pretty. I want it all! You won't even know you're shopping in a discount store because the displays are so eye-catching and many products are designer. This is one of the best stores to find a gift. There is usually something for everyone. If you don't know what to get them I figure everyone has to eat just get them food. There is a gourmet food section (no fresh items) local and imported. Some of the things I've seen are salts, olive oils, vinegars, boxed mixes, snacks and cocktail mixers. There is no need for electricity when there is a whole aisle of candles. Reorganize your closet, they sell 10 different types of hangers. Fancy-up that couch with pillows galore! Need to get that Zen Look? Buddha is here in every size. What holiday is coming up? Home Goods will let you know what you need to decorate for it. My favorite is the furniture department. I have seen some original pieces go for less than $200. My second favorite is the kids department. It's always some kids birthday and I always find the perfect gift here. This store can get really beat up during the weekends and Christmas, but all in all it's a pretty clean store. The staff are usually helpful if you need to get something down. I don't like that the shopping carts or too big for the aisles where other shopping carts cannot pass and cartless shoppers have to squeeze by to get through. There is an awkward cattle-like exit, but it's not too bad because it's stocked with more cute stuff you just might need. read more

Just visited this store today. I'm glad I did, I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to check out what they had. They had what I was looking for but their prices are a little steep. I know Home Goods had pretty original items and could possible cost a little less. Sure enough I found many great items! Although they didn't have one thing I was looking for, they did carry a wide variety of "home goods" and lots of em were inexpensive! Their selection is great and could save you a few $$$ in comparison to other home improvement stores. read more

Owned by TJ Maxx, Home Goods has all the "goods" and none of the clothes. This means that it is somewhat more momified than Marshalls/TJ Maxx, but it also means that you can find a cool lamp or random vase. They also have full size rugs and some pieces of furniture (although their furniture is not always that cheap). This location is in the Nut Tree Shopping Center which appears to be very new since they have buildings, but no one leasing many of them. The store was pretty quiet while I was there which allowed me to pick through every nook and cranny! If you have a long drive up to Davis/Sacramento, I would recommend checking out this Home Goods-- you're bound to dig up something good. read more

I love the deals at Home Goods! I have friends that drive out from Oakland just to visit this location. I grew up bargain shopping with my mom so I am naturally drawn to this place. This is my go-to store when I feel the need to spruce up my home in some way. My most recent purchase were throw pillows, but I've purchased many items here for my son's room. They have a pretty good selection for kids' organization and bedding. Also, my bathrooms, ofiice, kitchen and bedrooms all have Home Goods Goodies scattered throughout. In fact, my master bedding is from here and all of my curtains- from living, dining, guestroom to bedroom are from here. I really do like that the lines are managed very well here. Even if the line gets long, it moves very quickly. I wish the employees were more friendly here, I've found their customer service to be hit or miss. My lady today was super nice! But the one I had the time before was a little rough. Anyway- still great shopping! read more

If you have ever been to a Ross or TJ Maxx, then imagine those stores if they were entirely items for your home (so, literally, Home Goods). They specialize in bringing in discount or overstock name brand merchandise and selling them at drastically lower prices. Their price stickers always have a "compare at" price and an "our price" so you can see your savings over normal retail prices. I find that the best deals are located in their glassware, dishware, and kitchen sections. I have personally bought several Calphalon Stainless steel pots and pans for more than 60% off the best prices I could find on Amazon. *That's* how I know the "compare at" price labels are not lying! And there's absolutely nothing wrong with the products! Wine glass sets, flatware, dishware, vases (the prices of glass items like vases are astonishingly low). It's also a great place to check out if you need a replacement item for something that was discontinued by another store (I actually found the flatware I had bought at World Market there after WM had discontinued the flatware collection I owned.) As of 3-5-13 I noticed they had a TON of Cuisinart Stainless steel pots, pans, skillets, etc. I mean, a TON TON TON of it and the prices were really, really great. I haven't spent much time in their other departments (décor, candles, art, bedding, etc.) but I imagine the savings are found all over the store. I have just noticed that the most practical side of the store (kitchen) really does have great savings on stuff you CAN find in higher priced stores like Macy's or even Target! Definitely worth it to check out if you need new kitchenware. read more

The Wife and I have been frequenting this store lately to furnish the new home we recently moved into. The prices and quality of the items deserve 5 stars. The service is more in the 3-4 range. You can't find better deals than what you find here and they're of good quality. One of our trips however when we asked if they could hold our cart for a few minutes (when we went to Kirkland's two stores down) the woman asks us "are you going to continue to shop here?" and we say no, that we will be back in less than 15 minutes. I thought it was a weird question since I don't know why anyone would ask to have a cart held if they intend on continuing to shop. At any rate, we went to Kirkland's and were back within 20 minutes, maybe less. The cart was no longer up front. The girl was no longer there and another girl said she had no idea there was a cart on hold. I go to the back of the store, and they put all of our products back on the shelves. This definitely irritated me because the Wife was excited about a couple of lamps she found and they were half the price here than elsewhere, and someone could have scooped them up. All in all, we will continue to go here and I would recommend this store to anyone looking for good value and prices when furnishing their homes. read more

The only thing keeping me from giving this store 5 stars is the customer service. They never have enough registers open and it's hard to find an employee out on the sales floor to assist with questions or products. Other than that I love this store. It's smaller than the Brentwood location I used to shop at when I lived out there, but still has plenty of great products. I have to be careful how often I visit because I ALWAYS find way more items then what I came in for. If you are ever having a problem finding a gift for someone hard to shop for stop in here and something unique will surely find its way into your cart. The quality and variety of the products is always great and I never feel like i'm getting a cheap knock off item. Good store if you're looking to do some redecorating...the prices can't be beat. My only negative is their glass section is extremely small and the aisles are so close together, it is very hard to navigate without knocking something off the shelf! :( The proximity to Kirkland's, right next door, makes these a one-two punch in saving money while making your home look picture perfect! read more

I love homeGoods. I have furnished 90% of my home from this store. However, customer service really sucks. I shopped at the HomeGoods in Sacramento and they forgot to put my towels in my bag. When I called they told me they would be able to accommodate me in the Vacaville store since it was closer to where I lived. The manager at the Vacaville store was very rude. Didn't even try to accommodate me in any way. Pretty much called me a liar and that I was not told that in Sacramento store. That I was told they'd send me a merch credit. If I was told that I wouldn't grieve 15-20 minutes out of my way. She was rude to the employees and other customers waiting in line for support saying "Wait. I'm busy with other customers" eye rolling. There's a way of communicating with customers and employees and that just isn't it. Find new management. read more

I had never been to a home goods until now, and it is just like any other discount department store. Coming from a retail background with Ross Dress for Less, it definitely took me back to those horrifying days of trying to jam pack items onto the shelf so customers can partake in the "treasure hunt". This store is basically a Ross or Marshalls, but just home goods and no clothes. I could spend hours in stores like this searching and finding tons of random things that I never even knew I wanted! All for pretty cheap prices -- good and bad depending on how my bank account is feeling. Next time I need a new decorative wall candle or a mason jar tumbler, I'll be keeping Home Goods in mind! read more

Absolutely do not go into this store looking for Rae Dunn unless you want to be looked at and talked to like you're scum of the earth! The last time i purchased rae Dunn from here the woman cashing me out said "i know what y'all do, i know you sell it online and return it when it doesn't sell, i ain't stupid" and shook her head the entire time she was ringing me up, mind you, i was only buying 3 things for myself, not duplicates to sell online. Now this visit was both bad and good. I normally Loovvvvee HomeGoods and always recommend to everyone. I came in with my receipts from the night before because I was overcharged. Rose, the supervisor I believe, came and told me I need the candles to match the sku numbers. She did seem to have a bit of attitude but nothing serious, I told her they were in my car and I would be right back. After promptly returning she was no where to be seen, considering I was back within 3 minutes I thought she would have been waiting. I know it was busy but I waited at least 15 minutes before she came over but to resolve someone else's issue. Leaving me to wait longer( another 15 minutes) but she may have not seen me which is fine. Finally, she comes over to help,barely acknowledges me, and looks at the receipts.. I'm trying to talk her and she barely answers me. To me who is and has been in management, retail and customer service for over 5 years this is unacceptable, I understand it was busy. However, despite my patience I feel like, although, Rose wasn't being outwardly rude in the sense her speaking, she was rude in the sense that I felt ignored. If it wasn't for the sweet little lady, Cheryl, I would have not been happy with my experience at all. Cheryl thankyou so much and you NEED to get raise, just from what I saw you are an amazingly hard worker with such a beautiful disposition and I appreciate you. This place has a lot of overpriced crap. I went there not too long ago and although I saw a few cute things, mostly the selection was cheaply made junk. The kitchen section was really the only section worth visiting. The isles are very narrow and navigating the store is difficult on a crowded day. The store seems to attract snippy customers also. I highly doubt I'll ever return to this store, but who knows...I did find a few glass art pieces that I liked. Dollar store items with five dollar price tags. read more
