    Dollar Tree, Fairfield

Dollar Tree isn't all a dollar any more but they still have plenty of bargains. I stopped in today to purchase some stuff. They had all of this though a lot of out of stock in the greeting cards area. The store is in okay shape. I found my greeting cards and sugar free candies. It needs a sweep and some tidying. The staff was around but not enough of them so we had a wait at the register. [Review 17582 overall - 378 in California - round number 1100 of 2022.]

Never underestimate what great finds you can haul at your local dollar tree store! I have found awesome items that I can use for DIY projects as and more. As you enter the store, it's pretty well maintained, clean and stocked. I over bought items and it was really easy to get the items exchanged for other useful items. Just make sure the items are still in their original packaging. The manager or supervisor (female- sorry forgot her name)who also helped was super friendly. A definitely a place for me to go and now I will be a regular here in my area.

    The receipt

I give this dollar tree a 1 star because this Hispanic lady with dark brown hair that has a ponytail accused me and my friends of stealing because we took a while looking around the store (JUST LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE) but because we had our backpack I guess that was just a sign for her to start following me around as I was looking and while my friends were gone. I was looking at the snacks because I was bored but when my friends checked out one of us was putting their stuff in the backpack after they checked out cause again (THEY CHECKED OUT) and the lady saw her put her stuff in her backpack and we have the receipt on us too she also accused homeless people of stealing and yelled at kid because she grabbed a toy I feel like she should be fired but that's just me she's nosey as hell I can't even shop there after school cause she said "if you come back I'll call the police.

There were good items. I bought some things but the high ticket items that everybody wants a very difficult to get. I have yet to get the things I really would love. Recently, I came back, I've been trying to get a specific item because I really need it and it's pretty expensive but even though they have about seven or eight of them, I never seem to be able to grab it quick enough or people won't let me in to where the bins are and so I miss out. Meanwhile, I'm bringing a lot of boxes to be opened in a huge amount of stuff is broken damaged or doesn't work it's really disgusting when they open a package and it's very visibly used. Today they opened a small vacuum and I ended up getting dirt from it all over the place. If you're reading this at your deciding whether to come just know that it's extremely important. Did you have them open the boxes because it isn't always what it shows on the box and electronic items or items that breakable are probably broken but not always. I travel over an hour to get here and have to pay toll fees and gas, unless they start getting items that are not used and broken. I'm probably not going to come back. There's gotta be another bin store closer that has items that aren't broken

The staff has been nice and they accept credit cards for 3% which is no big deal due to the huge savings. The only challenge is that the cart cannot leave the store so you need to carry everything or drive up to the door. But shower heads were $30-40 compared to $60 at the big home improvement store. Sometimes they have big appliances like fridges, washers, dryers. Big selection of clothing including shoes. They have some furniture as well. (Mattresses, couches, tables.) It's very clean and well organized. The store doesn't smell bad. It's a pleasant shopping experience. There's stuff brand new in the box. If I'm already in the area or nearby I would pop in to see what new inventory they have. I think as long as you think of it almost like a thrift store (no guarantee what you'll find that day although they have a little bit of everything and at what price) you'd be setting reasonable expectations for yourself.

They are an outlet for returns and damaged items, overstock, etc for big box stores like Costco, Sam's Club and Target, so you just have to know the prices of things or you need to search for the original prices on your phone. Generally, their food items are pretty good deals, but you need to check for items being expired or nearing expiration. Today the store was packed full of stuff and to my surprise, plenty of shoppers! They have a good amount of furniture and appliances today. Come check them out if you are looking for some deals on popular items you may be holding out for at the big box stores, you may be able to find it here.

There are a wide assortment of items, like cleaning supplies, groceries items and seasonal things, but nothing you can't find at FoodMax, Walmart, DollarTree, Smart & Final, just down the street and for a lot cheaper for toiletries, and cleaning supplies; food items, pet supplies. Shelves and racks are disorganized, but I arrived when they first opened and the ladies were just starting to shelve items and restock things I guess. I gave it 2stars for staff and employees being so helpful and friendly. But I would pass this place all together and just head over to the other mentioned stores for better deals.

Hate negging any business, but couldn't scratch any positives outta' my 1st visit here. I downloaded their app. and clipped a few site coupons before arriving. The lighting & parking situation outside isn't the best at night. Looking like Freddy Krueger, Michael Meyers or Jason could be lurking nearby in the dark? I was mainly interested in their prices and coupon app, but was disappointed with both. Prices I found were noticeably higher than at any Dollar Tree or .99c Store. And the coupon app. is kinda stupid with multiple click-thru's on your smartphone required to activate the measely discounts (pretty gimmicky). Also, coupons are only good for 1 item of any quantity and cannot be used for multiples of the same product. So, no benefit to stocking up like at the other dollar stores. Perhaps worst of all were the packaging on many of the shelved products. Noticeably faded, indicative of products beyond their natural shelf life (kinda like what you see at flea markets, gasp!). Even my packaged candy was super-stale! Inquiring Minds: Are they being supplied with leftovers from the local flea market? Unsure what niche Family Dollar is looking to carve within this uber-competitive market segment? I think I'm sticking with the other Dollar chains over this one for now however.
