I've been going to Homes since I was a little girl, and it was in the house to the right of the restaurant. They only offered ice cream and some candies back then. Now, you can get a $5 hotdog, fries, and even a nice greasy cheeseburger. Love going back. Their ice cream is delicious, although I have to watch my diet carefully. It's worth the calories. Love ya, Homers!

Love stopping by here for ice cream when I'm in the Wilmette area. Everything is always so fresh and delicious. Service is moderately fast, and every flavor I've tried has been great. You really can't go wrong with anything.

It is good and nostalgic: The ice cream is delicious but is so expensive - for a double scoop it is $8.15 and pretty small - you should just buy a pint. Food is reasonably priced. The service was really friendly and fast. The ambiance is very dinery and fun - wish they had a better outdoor space. Everything but mozz sticks was good

I was visiting family in Wilmette and had an opportunity to try Homer's. I was told it's some of the best ice cream in the area. I had two scoops - Expresso Chip and Chocolate. I would give the Expresso between 4 to 5 stars, and the Chocolate 3-4 stars. The Expresso had a rich coffee flavor and large thin chocolate chunks. It was excellent. The chocolate was interesting - a deep rich dark color and very creamy texture, but I yearned for a deeper cocoa flavor- it just wasn't there.

Nice ice cream joint with plenty of seating for larger groups. They serve it to you tight at the register. If you order a pint, they'll scoop it fresh from their stock that they have which I really like. We only got a single scoop but the proportions are really big. I like the crunch from the pistachio ice cream but the ice cream flavor was just okay. Seasonal peach flavor is really good and they use real peaches. Overall, a nice place to hangout with your friends for the summer.

This place was special to me as a kid, 30 years ago. We lived in the city but a couple times a year on the way home from visiting Grandma, Dad would stop at Homer's and we'd all have ice cream. It was the only time I ever saw him have dessert out, as he didn't have a sweet tooth. But he loved homers. I hadn't been in decades but decided to take my mom over the summer and was pleased that it was every bit as good as I remembered. Amazing that anything can live up to our fondest childhood memories. AMBIENCE: ***** Still has the quaint 50s vibe. We went mid week so it was pretty empty. Quite clean. Other reviews said it was filthy but the bathroom was clean and well stocked. SERVICE: ***** The employee was friendly and when he realized mom and I were going to split a small scoop, he told us we could get two flavors which was exciting. He was quite patient with us as we decided. Others came up behind us and he shouted to his colleagues in the back to come out which they promptly did so no one had to wait. FOOD: ***** The ice cream is hands down the best I've had. And so many flavors! I didn't love the peach (which is only available seasonally), but my mom liked it. We both loved the prelines although I'd have been happy even just with vanilla , which is the base for it and just the plain parts were delicious.

Super cute ice cream parlor! Classic parlor vibes. Lots of house made ice cream options. We tried the raspberry chocolate chip! It was great. Raspberry didn't over power the chocolate chips. Would come back! Drove from the city.

Best ice cream in the area. Carries peppermint year round which is unusual and open late. Can't beat that.

I was running the New Trier pickleball club for a month and found myself here at the end of every night because it's too convenient and when the weather starts to get nice my kids need to get their ice cream fix. I indulged each time in something different and it was always delicious. The people who work here are also super nice and helpful and there's plenty of space for seating. There's also parking across the street (near the 711). Looking forward to visitng more often as the temps rise this summer!

There's plenty of seating, free WiFi, and even a handful of tables with chess boards built right in (such a fun and unique touch if you're hanging out with friends or family). They've even thought through the practical stuff--lots of bathrooms so you never feel like you're waiting. The staff here couldn't be kinder, and they've got a fantastic selection of treats. From the classic flavors to more creative scoops, sundaes, and frostbites (mix-ins blended into ice cream), and even kid-size portions, there's really something for everyone. My personal favorite so far has been the Winnetka Wildberry--a bright, berry-forward ice cream studded with generous chunks of chocolate fudge. Absolutely delicious. Beyond the ice cream, they've got fridges stocked with Oberweis favorites to take home--gallons of their famous milk and chocolate milk in the glass jugs, ice cream cakes, coffee cake, and lots of other fun treats. Next time I'm excited to try the frozen lattes and soft serve. Expect me as a regular at this wonderful addition to the Winnetka community!

So we just walked up to the counter to look at the flavors. We sampled a few before we decided to get a cone of the rootbeer float which was so unique because it was like a root beer sorbet and vanilla gelato in one mix. If you've had a root beer float and loved it - this is the move! I'm still thinking about it and it's been a week! The other flavor we ended up with was the Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, which was super subtle with like a raspberry and chocolate flavor. It reminded me of those brookstone raspberry chocolates but in ice cream form. Delish! Highly recommend this was well! I will say the prices were a bit higher than we expected (not that it wasn't listed) but just higher than most ice cream shops but we didn't mind supporting local. I will also say it felt a bit disorganized with the staff there were 2 staff members who were sitting on a stool on their phone and barely said anything to people who were asking questions and engaging. But nonetheless, overall a great experience and can't wait to come back and try other flavors.

But lately I've been getting the Atlantic cod dinner or the Walleye dinner. The nice lady behind the counter took my order for the 2 piece cod dinner and handed me a number. The place was packed and I found a table and waited. The dining area is large but felt small with so many people. I received my order and dug in. The fish was fresh and hot, tasted like it just was made. The fish was flaky and crispy. I love the tartar sauce that they give you. With a squeeze of lemon and malt vinegar the fish is so good that I wish I would have gotten the 3 piece dinner. The cole slaw was creamy with a good crunch. The French fries were really good. The roll wasn't as fluffy this time around and didn't get any butter. But, I'm lazy and didn't want to get up, so I dipped my roll in the tartar sauce, not bad. I left full and happy. I have to go back for the walleye before it disappears.

I came here several times and I don't know why I didn't do a review until now however, this most recent visit on a Friday during lent was absolutely fantastic. The lady working at the register behind the counter was so super friendly and helpful. She made me aware of so many different combinations and options of what you can do with a simple two-piece fish platter that comes with two side sides. For example, I didn't know you could even change out the sides, let alone app for the premium size or even forfeit some of the sides. I usually eat at Culver's on Fridays during lent and this is the first time anyone's ever told me all the possible options, which was mind-boggling While it might be a little overwhelming, I will say it was great to even realize that there were any options to begin with She had the most bubbly, friendly personality, absolute patience to even explain all of these things to us and then to take our order and get it right who knew? Anyhow, she is great whoever trained her was fantastic and whoever hired her definitely saw her ability to do well at this job. She clearly likes people she likes communicating and being helpful. I like Culver's overall not just for fish but also for the cheese curds and the sandwich sandwiches. This is a solid go to for fast food when I have to choose fast food.
