I did not know that Shake Shack originated from a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park, NY. For some reason I thought maybe it came from the beaches in CA. From humble beginnings to over 400 locations globally. The burgers are tasty, prepared to order, 100 percent beef. I ordered the Shack Burger at the kiosk, the crinkle cut fries, and a small Diet Coke. I was outraged that a small diet cost $3.19. However I saw a Yelper in NY paid $3.79. Ok then. What can I say, the burgers are a class above other fast food chains and they have as their mission to Stand for Something Good. I don't mind a little gouging on my soda then. This location can get pretty busy and the wait for your order can be a little long, although they do text you when it's ready. The outdoor tables are nice in the summer.

    Nuggets and cheese fries.

To Start the food is extremely expensive. While the drinks were a dollar, to get a burger or nuggets and fries for four, and two milkshakes it cost 90 bucks. However, we knew that going in I had insisted on shake shack due to their previous deliciousness of their burgers. However, this time it was very sad. My burger was hard burned with lack of cheese and not very tasty. Maybe because it was to go but the fries didn't hit the same either. The Nuggets got adjusted OK review. Finally, there 5 dollar onion rings only had 6 small ones.

Service: Non existent. You order on the screen with zero human contact. After ordering it's one person putting it on a tray and she forgot condiments. When the phone buzzed that our order was ready, it wasn't. Took extra time. There was no one wiping tables in the 45 minutes we were here. Food: Really expensive for what they give you. The burgers are small. The root beer float was like ordering root beer for $7 and like a spoonful of vanilla soft serve that melted into it. I can't believe we spent $90 for 5 shakes that tasted like vanilla pudding and literally the consistency of pudding, and small McDonald's size kids burgers. Very disappointing. The taste on the burgers was okay. I'd give 3 stars. The chicken pieces are 4 stars. Vanilla shake 1 star Oreo shake is a 5 Root beer float 1 star Brownie milkshake 2 stars Avocado bacon burger 2 stars on what you get but taste is 3 stars. We will not be coming back. My partner actually said he's going to delete their app which he downloaded when we got here. Not worth it. I'd like my money back.

Shake up your Monday and comment which is your favorite Shake Shack flavor! we ordered chocolate and vanilla milkshakes while walking around the mall and it was so delicious! The ambiance of Shake Shack is definitely on the loud side as a lot of people are eating here when they come to the mall! The service tends to be pretty quick I've never had an issue with not getting my food or drinks on time.

The Smell of beef is really good, I prefer the lettuce, onion, tomato and ketchup add ons. The chicken sandwich is not quite on par with Chick Fila's, also, a couple of you noted that the cheese was not properly melted on the chicken sandwiches. FYI, I'd skip the bourbon sauce, it was a bit over powering for me. It's a nice, convenient location, they're always busy, with responsive mgmt. and employees. Haven't tried the location on Michigan Ave. yet but this spot is much more convenient. It's a clean and popular place to enjoy a couple of burgers.

I was walking around the mall and got a crazing fit a burger. Shake shack to the rescue! I love the use of kiosks for ordering- the process was smooth and easy. The wait time for my food wasn't too bad. The restaurant was loud, but it was dinner time and a pretty hot spot in the mall.

Always a win. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Under rated burgers. Food is fresh and delicious every time.

This is only my second time in life having SS and it's some serious hype! The food is good but I do feel like the portions you get will leave you feeling hungry again in a very short amount of time; at least for their burgers. I have yet to try their chicken but while I was waiting in line on a Sunday afternoon (took 45-1 hr to get) I noticed someone eating what looked to be a pretty thick lookin chicken sandwich. Then again, things do look different from a far. I digress- Steep prices. Good quality food but relatively smaller portions. My puzu pomegranate lemonade cost 6/7.00 and wasn't filled to the top(picture below) I was so over the wait so I stopped myself from being a Karen but I thought about it. I didn't want to spend more time than I already had to go back to complain (but also fear they may have done something to my drink for being said Karen). I enjoy their burgers and fries. I'll give that a 4.00*

Always a solid smash burger here and a great fast casual option at old orchard mall. The meat is tasty and the buns are super soft. My kids and I love the burgers here and the cheese fires are epic! I would however stay away from the shroom burger. It super greesy with a deep fried mushroom on top of the burger patty which throws off the taste and texture. Lines here are always long and many times there isn't enough seating to accommodate the crowds especially in the winter when the outdoor patio isn't available. Overall a great quick burger joint for the family. Quick access to parking lot if you park near Talbots

Ok, Shake Shack. I like you a lot. You're my choice of food when I go to Westfield Old Orchard mall. But what happened to your cheese sauce? That's the one thing I look forward to when I have your burger. Your perfect crinkle cut fries with THE cheese sauce. It's so famous that there's a recipe out there to try and make it at home. (That's too much work for me so I'd rather go and have the real one.) My last one was really disappointing in July. It was so water down. We, my other cheese sauce lover, threw the sauce away, and we'd never do that, cuz we love your sauce. It was that bad. We ordered for online pickup and ate at nearby tables of the mall (not belonging to Shake Shack). Online order was rather easy, but I've also used this service in the past at the Wrigleyville location. I love that they message me when food is ready so I don't have to linger around waiting in front of the restaurant, looking like a hangry toddler. I've mentioned in other reviews of different restaurants that take a different approach to mark tables that are good for dining or blocked for social distancing. Welp, Shake Shack has used bright green tapes to mark where not to sit. A step up from yellow "caution" tape or painter's blue tape, because they're using their signature color-- a bright green color. I'd not want to sit at a booth next to where there's tape all around because the way they taped it, is like a crime scene style with X over the tables! No wonder no one was inside. Just kidding, it was also a beautiful day outside so I'm sure everyone would rather sit outdoor instead. I still love you, Shake Shack, and I heart your burger & fries. But just a little feedback from me regarding your green tape. Dining in is supposed to be pleasurable but you walk in and tell me if you want to eat inside. On the contrary, if that's your tactic to lure people to eat outdoor instead, that's a real smart move!

However, I have doordashed on a few occasions and it's always something that the entire family of 5 can agree on...which isn't so easy when it comes to choosing a doordash restaurant. The cheeseburger itself isn't very big, but I think the perfect size. And for those super hungry or a bottomless pit like my 13 year old son they have the option of a double cheeseburger. Burger patty seemed completely non-seasoned and absolutely none of the smoky flavor I've always associated with a Small Cheval burger. Kind of dry and overcooked, straight off a griddle. The fries were pretty good, best part of the meal. The chocolate shake was, somehow, kind of bland. Not sweet enough, typical fast food soft serve tasting. It's upsetting when you get a place in the suburbs and you have expectations based on what you had in the city. Then you go to the suburban location and you feel kind of taken advantage of. As though you somehow didn't know what to expect because you lived a few miles north. Like there maybe was a presumption you hadn't been to the real deal and the name would just be enough. The price is still the same, though. That part didn't change. Will not be back.

She made me aware of so many different combinations and options of what you can do with a simple two-piece fish platter that comes with two side sides. For example, I didn't know you could even change out the sides, let alone app for the premium size or even forfeit some of the sides. I usually eat at Culver's on Fridays during lent and this is the first time anyone's ever told me all the possible options, which was mind-boggling While it might be a little overwhelming, I will say it was great to even realize that there were any options to begin with She had the most bubbly, friendly personality, absolute patience to even explain all of these things to us and then to take our order and get it right who knew? Anyhow, she is great whoever trained her was fantastic and whoever hired her definitely saw her ability to do well at this job. She clearly likes people she likes communicating and being helpful. My tried to clarify that card 4 might have value left, she confidently said no. I was suspicious since the total couldn't have exactly matched my bill. The next day I looked at the receipt and it clearly said there was money left on the card, over 8$. It's unclear whether card 3 had money or she just didn't scan it. I'm presuming this was poor training but it has an element of malicious intent since she was so confident I had nothing left on the card and requested keeping all the cards. My first thought was, "This is like Chipotle, if Chipotle was actually good," and I'm sticking with that. Perhaps that can be the new slogan for Guzman y Gomez. Run with it, put it on your bags and cups, just make sure to pay me back in free burritos. It's not exactly the same model as Chipotle. You don't watch the magic happen, so there's no opportunity to request a little more of this or a bit less of that. But the staff here are so eager to please, I always find I get exactly what I was looking for anyway. If you need a little more of anything, just ask, and they're happy to oblige. Plus, this place has so many more options than Chipotle, it's crazy. Better food, better atmosphere, just better overall. During my first visit, I had the pleasure of chatting with one of the chefs, Dustin, and I could hear the passion for cooking in how he spoke about this role here. He broke down all their vegan options for me and made sure my first burrito was an absolute hit. It's probably that first visit that got me hooked, so G y G is lucky to have a guy like him. Two vegan mayos, chipotle or herb, both delicious. Pulled shiitake mushroom, seasoned beautifully and cooked to order. Perfectly cooked rice, yummy fajita veggies, salsa options galore, it was all spot on. Super authentic Mexican? No, but that's ok. "Inspired by authentic Mexican food" is fine by me. And how'd they manage to get so many friendly employees? I've been here a half a dozen times, and everyone is so damn chipper and happy to help. Plus, the music is upbeat and fun, not some dreary corporate playlist. I actually *want* to eat in, which I rarely look forward to in a fast food spot. I'm loving it. There are times when you just need something satisfying and fast that doesn't break the bank. This place brings that energy via fresh ingredients prepared with expertise. Plus, as I said, Chipotle is garbage. I'm glad Guzman y Gomez decided to pop up in Evanston.
