We purchased a home with the dryer vented through flexible ductwork and a vent stack pretty much on top of the water heater vent. The home inspector recommended replacing it quickly, and we found HomeSafe based on Yelp reviews and BBB information. HomeSafe was able to schedule us quickly (non-emergency). Their photos showed that the flexible ductwork already was lined with lint after using the dryer only one week! They replaced the ductwork, re-routed the vent stack a different direction, and installed a new cap on the roof. I had my dryer vent cleaned out a couple of years ago by a "professional" company so when my dryer kept taking longer and longer to dry a load of laundry. I figured I needed a new one. However, once I tried to dry a load in the new dryer, I kept getting a message to clean the vent. I called HomeSafe and they were able to get out the next day. Jordan did an excellent job explaining the problem and providing photo evidence of what needed to be cleaned and that he cleaned it. Apparently the other company just managed to compact all the lint in one place and it eventually blocked out the entire vent. Good thing my house didn't catch on fire. I discovered my dryer ventilation was never attached to an outside vent of my 2-story townhome built in 1992 that I purchased 3ys ago. Hot air and lint has been blowing through joists under the upper floor for 30yrs. Two different handymen came out unable to find a reasonable solution to properly vent. Homesafe sent their tech out and in about 10-minutes found the other end of the vent pipe within the joists, drilled through the joist block and ran a 5' vent tube to connect the two to the outside. My 5 year old dryer had been gradually slowing down, taking longer times and multiple runs to dry loads it used to get done easily. But it was working, seemed fine and not showing any error codes or anything like that. It was becoming an issue when every load took so long to dry, I wasn't able to get the laundry done... So I contacted these guys, found them right here on yelp. They replied immediately, and I was able to schedule inspection online for a day and a half ahead (how quickly!!) for a 2 hours window (and you know why I'm writing it, if you ever had to wait for a technician from 9am to 5pm, just so he'll arrive at 6 ‍). Couldn't have been easier, no hassle and no bs... Justin arrived exactly at the scheduled time. Took him 15 minutes to complete his tests, take photos and give me an offer, very straightforward, detailed and broken down to parts I could easily choose from. Needless to say I took it!! He got everything done in about 2 hours, cleaned my dryer and vent line all the way up to the roof, replaced a couple of broken parts AND clean everything he touched, you couldn't tell someone was just working there!! If you own an older house you know how annoying maintenance gets... huge headache, but NOT in this case! The one thing I would ask to improve is: PLEASE add more services! Can't say enough good things about these guys. We bought a new house as a rental and apparently the dryer did not properly vent outside (into a wall). Eventually the dryer stopped drying - the first vent cleaner came out and cleaned part of the vent but couldn't fix the issue although they noted it. Excellent customer service and quality of work, but pricey. I called HomeSafe to have my dryer vent cleaned/inspected because my dryer was overheating, but I expected the entire duct needed to be replaced. The tech arrived on time and followed the Covid protocols in place. He agreed that the duct should be replaced. I felt that the quote was high relative to the difficulty of the job, but I accepted and didn't get more quotes due to time constraints and because I was trying to limit the number of people in my house right now. I had a recessed dryer box installed and the tech replaced the duct inside the wall and to the existing roof vent. The tech was very personable and seemed to know what he was doing. I am very satisfied with the quality of work and the cleanliness of the tech. They showed up when they were supposed to. My dryer works better than it ever has and my clothes dry super quick. The dryer box is awesome because I can finally push the dryer close to the wall. I would love to call them for my next project but will get more quotes next time.
