Upon hearing the termites scurrying around, I immediately scurried to find the best pest control service and HomeShield Pest Control was it. I had previously reached out to two other businesses but did not feel satisfied with the interaction. Indeed, I was looking for a pest control company that could rid my house of pests. However, besides that, I was looking for someone who cared about maintaining the condition of the house during and after treatment. On their business card, they have a list of core values, which I really appreciated. Businesses usually just have their contact information, along with a "leave us a good review" on the back of the card. However, with this company, by listing their core values on their card, it made me feel more at ease with hiring them to help. They actually care about you, your house, and getting rid of those pesky pests! With HomeShield Pest Control, they provided a free on-site estimate (a very thorough job done by Fernando) and a quote, along with details on the work to be done. I was able to schedule a treatment day and they were courteous enough to reach out to me with a reminder the day before treatment. My contract with the old pest control service was sold to HomeShield Pest control. I had credit card set up for automatic payment. So when they sent me bills to be paid, I was confused. Also their letters reflected a wrong date that was confusing. So I called them twice and they said someone will do a search of my account payment and call me back. Nobody called me back. And they sent the bill to collection with late fees added. I had to call them again and talked to the manager . I offered them to pay for the service fee without the late fees but he said they still can't waive the late fees. It's such unfair and poor customer service. You can't trust them. They only want to get your money instead of working with you and helping you. read more

Justin was a very nice person. I was told he was only there to spray and not check traps for rats in the attic that I still have. I asked if the spray would run away cats which he said maybe not. I asked if he could spray for ants coming in the house and always on the porch areas. He said yes. Also, in the notes of his 21 minutes at the house, he said he sprayed all areas. Justin can only do as good as the products. By 4 pm, there were ants on the porch, so the PRODUCT IS NOT of good commercial value, and that is not on the tech. I will see what the next visit does for us. I paid over $300 to begin and $99 for many, many months to date. I still have the same issues I had on the first visit. I think the PRODUCTS used are not of the value of the cost I am paying. I was not too fond of peanut butter to set traps (I can do that with 99 cent traps and a jar of peanut butter). I was told with the $300 plus initial charge the attic would be checked and sealed/closed to prevent the rats from entering the attic. They are still coming in and found on the traps. The sprays don't seem to rid ants, flies, fleas (from stray cats), not sure of spiders or general pests (don't have roaches). Still getting large flies and ants for sure. Thank you. read more

We are selling our house and had HomeShield do a termite inspection. With this slow market it took almost 5 months to sell it. I guess there is a regulation that the inspection needs to be current. Manny did an awesome job. It required going under the house via the crawl space and identifying how rodents were getting under the house. It was a hot and dirty job. He found a space space between the wood deck and concreted foundation. He too before and after pics. He nailed a small board in place to keep the rodents out. When he came out I met him outside. As cleaned all the dirt of himself I gave him a bottle of water and thanked him....He said its my job. He has a great work ethic. Homeshield should be proud of him. read more

I wanted to give HomeShield Pest Control 5 stars and state how caring their entire staff is to make sure your needs are met. I hired HomeShield because I had a very bad rodent problem and many sleepless nights because of it. HS came up with a game plan that included setting traps to eliminate rodents in the attic, redoing the insulation (which had not been redone for 30 years and was filthy and a health hazard), and to eliminate all entry points. After the insulation redo and elimination of rats & entry points, I was surprised to hear more activity in the attic. This is where Jason (manager of HS) comes in. Upon letting HS know that I was disappointed that there was still activity in the attic, Jason rushed over to my house and spent four hours here with my family to make sure he corrected the issue. The issue was that there were remaining infant rodents that had no way to get out once the exclusion points where closed off. All of the remaining rodents were eliminated and thankfully we haven't had a sign of rodents for months. I am so happy with Home Shield and specifically with Jason. I root for this company and hope them nothing but the best. Also, as a final note, things happen and people get frustrated. I've learned from this experience to allow a company to make it right.
