Gas is gas but I frequent this location when I'm in the San Jose area because it's proximity to my brothers home. Prices are reasonable and the pumps always seem to be working well. I prefer 76 gas over the other brands because it tends to give me better gas mileage. This location is clean and convenient. i'll be back again for sure. read more

Always broken pumps with worst_cusomter_service_EVER!!! We used to come here often since we live near by. Today we were trying to fill up as usual. however the pump kept stopping itself after filling for a few seconds. (this ALWAYS happens at this station, but we always resolved it by repositioning it). We tried to reposition it a few times but it kept happening, each time leaking out a lot of gas outside onto the side of the car. so we decided to ask the attendant for assistence. The guy (named Delbag Singh)was extremely rude and unattentive. after talking to him for several minutes he finally agreed to come outside to take a look. He pointed to the ground and said there is no leak on the floor and started walking back while we were STILL TALKING TO HIM. The guy was no help and when we asked to speak to his manager he simply called a family member of his and gave us more useless response. We ended up spending $7 on gas with half of it leaking out of the car. We then went to a chevron on Lawrence and filled up without any problems as usual. Don't come here unless u want to waste time and money on a broken pump. read more

This may not be the prettiest 76 gas station around, but it consistently is the cheapest! I only put top tier gas in my Audi, so I'm limited to 76, Chevron, or Shell. This spot always undercuts all the others, even coming close to cheap gas like Arco or Valero. So if you're looking for the lowest gas prices around for good petrol, come here! I have never had service here so this review is strictly for the gas. read more

I live down the street from this place. Reasonable price. Friendly Service. No appointment needed. I got there just in time, because right after me there ended up being a line of 3 people needing to get a smog check. One guy even tried to sweet talk and then bully the technician into letting him get his car checked first. Too bad for him the tech was already getting my paperwork taken cared of. I was told there would be a 15 minute wait, so the hubby and I headed next door to McDonald's for some fries. By the time we were done my car was already parked in front of the gas station's convenience store and my paperwork was at the register, cashier waiting for me to pay. This was a month ago. Been coming here for years until today. Asked the gas attendant to turn on the air compressor. He asked me to put fill up gas first and then he would. After 5 years of coming here and several owners and this is the thanks I get. Pay $0.75 for something I can do at home (2 blocks away) for free. Just lost a loyal customer and approx. $4000.00 a year in fuel sales, all over $0.75. The attendant would rather argue for 2 minutes and tell me the law rather than help out. read more

DO NOT have car services done at this place: - Although they advertise in front of their shop (and on Craigslist) a $17.95 oil change, when they completed the work, they charged me an extra $10+. They then lied and said they had told me the price beforehand -- they did not (or why would I have an oil change there?), and there was not a written estimate given prior to their service. -- After a few days, one of my tire lug nuts fell off after they rotated my tires (!) -- They tried to get me to have them do some additional services which I think were unnecessary and gladly declined them. I wish I had read earlier the "D" rating that the Better Business Bureau has given them. read more

The fuel station here has apparently recently undergone a management change and this is for the better as the place is clean and service helpful and knowledgeable. Local traffic is busy during most daylight hours, so one can miss this station, especially since it's at a corner where two other gasoline stations are located -- this is the best of those three as the other two you will find probably do not have the same quality fuel, service, cleanliness and so on. These people will jerk you around. They advertised a smog test service on Craigslist. When I brought in my car, they wanted to charge twice the price. When I mentioned the ad, they said their ads are good for one day and that I need to show them the printout. The ad doesn't say anything about expiration or printout. They have a new one posted today. read more

I took my car here for a smog test. I went on a weekday afternoon and there was nobody ahead of me, so it was done very quickly. The mechanic who performed the test, Parsa, was very friendly and helpful. Not only did he take the time to go over the test results with me, but he also gave me some helpful pointers about general care that I would consider above and beyond the scope of the smog test. He also pointed out a safety issue - my tires need to be replaced and he recommended I get that done before it starts raining in the fall. I really appreciated that he took the time to discuss these things with me, especially since most of it wouldn't necessarily result in more business for him. You don't get that kind of attention or service very often these days. read more

The owner firmly believes in the $0.75 charge for air if you don't buy gas. I have been buying full tanks of gas there on a weekly basis. The ONE day I needed air, I didn't buy gas...oh, well that's $0.75. I will be going here again, but only to show the owner the receipts from the gas I buy across the street. Great car service! It took me a long time to find a no-BS, reasonable priced and honest car mechanic and here it is: Mr. Dung! He is quiet type, but surprisingly knowledgeable about different car models. I have had everything from simple oil change (couple times even brought my own synthetic oil) to spark plugs and wires to Toyota Camry water pump and timing belt work done. Prices are very reasonable and quality of work is very good. Also smog check is a breeze and again reasonably priced. Don't be puzzled if you are being told that certain repair may not be worth it or that he doesn't service your particular car model. There is always a good reason for it. You are also very likely to hear about other or emerging problems "You seem to have a minor seep leak in your differential." but it's FYI, not for selling more services. This shop used to be the Westgate Union Service but moved due to new construction. They had 4.5 star reviews. AVOID this place at any cost. These guys are absolutely unprofessional, don't know what they are doing and how to treat a customer. On top of everything they try and cheat you. I went there for my 90K service. After 2 hrs they called me that the work was finished. I was appalled to see that they had done nothing - I MEAN NOTHING. They had not changed the oil (it was drak brown), I could see that the power steering oil level was not even at the lower limit. They had not rotated the tires either (I had a nail mark on one of the tires, so I could easily tell). Yet, per their checklist everything was done and closed. They started arguing when I complained. Its only after I threatened to sue, they did few of the things, such as filling up the power streering oil. Mechanics are novice, don't even know what is what - The guy who replaced the PS oil, was calling it as engine oil. I had a disgusting experience and hence want to save you from going thru this trauma. Even if you have to shell out a little more somewhere else, pay up and avoid this place for sake of your peace of mind. This place SUCKS... AVOID !!!! read more

Was planning to get my car smogged elsewhere, but needed gas first and happened to see that they were just opening. I was immediately given a discounted quote and was in and out in under 20 minutes. Fabulous. One thing, although the visual inspection appeared thorough and he definitely hooked up his equipment and ran the test, the results were zero for every measurement. I had my Lexus serviced to get a smog check and change the transmission fluid and gasket. The mechanic let the car warm up for 20 minutes so that it will pass the smog check. This saved me a big repair bill because the last smog check place said I needed a tune up. He noticed that the transmission oil pan gasket was leaking. The mechanic was very careful to clean out the dirt from the transmission oil pan, change the fluid and gasket.. He does not take short cuts and his prices are very reasonable. The wait time is not very long and he will do the work while you wait. He used to be at the Westgate 76 station on Saratoga Ave. before it was torn down for additional shopping space. read more
