They said if I buy the part they would charge me $80 to replace it. I went and bought the part and when I came back they said they can't replace it. We are very thankful for the car service provided. We have a smart car and it's very hard to find a place to get it serviced, we are grateful they were able to! We got spark plugs and ignition coils replaced after they discovered two of the three ignition coils were cracked and replaced them promptly within a few days for an affordable price. Very honest and very competent! I have a 2004 Lexus GX, which was making brake noises. The dealer's price was very high for replacing the front brake pads. A mechanic I had used in the past wanted to replace the front and rear brake pads (the rotors did not need to be replaced and the rear pads did not need to be replaced either). Several of my friends recommended the 76 gas station on Wolf and Stevens Creek. Based on their recommendations, I took my car to the 76 gas station. They were extremely and refreshingly honest. Their work was outstanding. Their prices were excellent. The owner is super honest, friendly, and helpful. I am absolutely delighted. Top notch service people including Wasafi, have been taking my cars for service, second now, for wow, likely 12 years. Very capable and reasonable, weekdays are less crowded than weekends. Do use your car service manual to recommend what needs to be done. Many minor and major services as one would expect. One tire replacement was a bit iffy, but battery replacement was top notch and picked right battery that my then AAA onsite provider had messed up. read more

I am a mom of 5 kids, and I tend to not trust service people much, but the guys at this 76 station on Stevens Creek are excellent at what they do and more. My husband has been going here for years, so when my car stalled on the freeway recently, I had it towed here. They were quick to detect the problem, they were honest in their assessment, they got it fixed within half a day, and they were fair with pricing. I felt bad later for being somewhat rude to them (I had had a bad day). But in return, they treated me with great care and were very kind to me and the kids. My car has been in perfect condition ever since (it's been months now). I'm not surprised because my husband only has good things to say about these guys. I went to this shop for transmission fluid change along with engine oil change. The total fee was $300. It was done less than 30 minutes. I never seeing this fast for transmission fluid change. As I checked it, the transmission fluid was still black as before. He claimed that he removed bottom pan and replaced gasket and filter. I wanted to tell what was before and how it is looking now after service. The guy called himself Wasfi yelled at me and refusing to listen my argument for the service I paid $300. The older white hair guy who also works there called me go back to China twice! I absolutely disappointed and disgusted their behavior and service. read more

We went in to get an oil change at the Jiffy Lube across the street only to discover that all of our oil had leaked out. They couldn't see the reason why, so we drove across the street to the Vallco 76. It was a Sunday, so we left the car off for them to look at the next day. Rico looked at the car first thing Monday morning and told us that it needed a replacement of the oil filter housing. We gave the go ahead and the job was completed that very day. We were very impressed with the quick, courteous service. We will be going back there for our future car repairs. read more

The staff here treat you like family. I never thought I would find a auto repair shop that I would feel comfortable just driving up and asking questions for any problem I had knowing confidently that they would do their best to help honestly and fairly! I hate feeling taken advantage of especially when I don't know much about cars, but this place never makes me feel like this. Ex: my tire had a deep hole from a nail and Rigo helped me to patch it up instead of saying I needed to replace the whole tire for 15$. * update I called them to double check if what the mechanics at pierce Toyota told me to do was actually needed, knew I could trust these guys as they told me I could come in for one of the services for half the price and the other was not even needed. Sounds like the service portion of this gas station is good based on other yelp reviews so I will give an extra star. Otherwise gas here is 40 cents more expensive than anywhere else in Cupertino. The gas station pumps are old and outdated and it's obvious the profits are not going into modern equipment. Very busy location at a very busy intersection. Wow! On my way home from the dentist, my device light turned on and it said tired pressure was an issue. I had no idea where to go and I saw this gas/service station and pulled in. When I went to ask for the air to be turned on, the cashier told me to go talk to the person in the service station first so I did. Wasfi listened to me and then asked me to drive my car over. He checked my tire, found a piece of plastics in my tire, and fixed it in minutes!!! I honest to goodness couldn't believe how kind and quick that whole situation took. I highly recommend this place! Good/honest mechanic and quick service. We live in the neighborhood and is always suspicious about how packed this place is. We came down to 3 options 1. they're a really good auto shop 2. they're right off the freeway so ppl just go to them 3. they do a crappy job on the cars, so the owners have to go back to them For my 90K service, I thought I'd give them a try. The employees were polite, patient and informative on the phone. They gave me the exact quote and details about what they would perform. I took it in and left the car there, even though they were few hours behind, they called me to inform me and I got my car back soon after. Not much a mechanic myself, but the car seems to work fine and they were reasonable with their charges. Good shop! read more

1 star is too high for the service, negative number is what they deserve. Last week I had brake service here. They replaced the front brake pads and rear brake shoes and some kit per their description on the statement. After the repair, the rear brake had some noise while applying brake. I went back on Saturday to check. They said they were going to fix it Monday which is toady. Today they opened the rear brakes and adjusted a little bit, but didn't mitigate the noise. Then I told them the problem was not fixed. Now the interesting things happened. The guy who did the repair last week DENIED he replaced the rear brake shoes even the statement has the item. He said it was kit not shoes. It is really ridiculous! Actually last week they called me while they lifted the car up and said the shoes and pin were wrong. They need to replace them and charge more. I went back and took a video on the rear brake for record. That time I knew the extra charge is too high. But since they already replaced the front pads, I don't want to go to another workshop for rear brake shoes replacement. Then I told them to replace it. That time I can't predict they will make the rear brake worse to start producing noise. It is not complicated job! Imagine you spent a few hundred dollars for simple brake service and got more problems? Imagine you drove there 4 times for nothing? Imagine a guy you supposed to trust denied what he did and you can't do anything on this? Hopefully none of them happen to you if you happen to go there. read more

I stopped by with a message on my dashboard that a right front low beam needed checking. When I went to the dealership for a similar message not long ago, they replaced the entire headlamp arrangement for around $300 and a wait of several hours. But Vallco 76 pulled open my hood, replaced the bulb, and filled up my low cooling fluid in 10 minutes, and they charged me for about 1/4 hour of labor and the part. I jumped for joy and brought them a giant box of donuts. It was my second visit here for a fast repair that I expected to be much worse. They're the best!!! read more

These guys are the best mechanic I have met so far. They are friendly, trustable and reliable. My partner and I came from Australia a few weeks back and planned to get a second-hand car. We randomly dropped by this place and they shared so much information that we needed to know before purchasing a car in the US. We eventually got a car which needs some repairs. We went back to them for an estimated price for the repairs and they quoted us 30% cheaper than the others. Terrible service and an extremely rude and horrible person (Wasafi). Went to get the oil pump changed in preparation for o road trip. Wasafi and Tony claimed to have replaced the pump and when I went to pick up the car there was an additional noise in the engine and a strong smell of burnt oil. When I pointed this out Wasafi shouted at me saying I didn't know anything about cars and that he had been doing this for 20+ years. Less than a week later I am stuck in the middle of Colorado, on my road trip, with engine oil all over the engine body and up to the exhaust. My car is more messed up now than before I went to Wasafi's service shop. Never seen such incompetence and arrogant behavior. Highly regret going there. Wish I could give a negative star. read more

The following events are true. The names have been changed to protect the innocent. Saturday night "David G." we will call him, was attending a wedding reception at Dynasty a few blocks from here. Some time around 10:45pm he up and left the restaurant reason unknown. He was not to be seen again by anyone at this party. Tis not the norm for David to just dissapear especially without telling someone where he was going. He is usually a well natured, thoughtful, reliable man. Dare I say a man's man. So what happened that fateful night? Why would he leave and not say a word to anyone especially to his designated ride home? To further the mystery why would David walk a quarter mile to a gas station? What follies would he encounter? What was the ultimate goal of this trek? Surely there must be a sound explanation to the repeated question "What happened??" Cognac happened. Lots and lots of Cognac. David was drunk. David does not recall the point when it turned from gentlemanly sips to taking turns pouring the bottle into each others mouths but it surely happened. As hard as we try we may never fully know the reasons for his departure from the setting of a joyous wedding to that of a self service gas station. The only insight into the matter comes from his sister who recieved a call from David using the gas stations phone requesting that she pick him up. When she arrived she found David eating ice cream bars with the gas station staff...laughing and having a fun time. Davids bottom line- Thank you guys at Vallco 76 for not calling the cops on me. Thanks for letting me hang out with you and eat ice cream bars. I dont know about you but I had a fun time....okay I dont know about myself either. Cant remember crap. I've been going here for service for my commuter car (Toyota) for the past few years. Tha is one of the mechanics there. Good , honest service and reasonable prices - especially on parts. The manager usually sits down with me, we go on the internet together to find the parts needed and confirm prices right away. Recently have got new brake shoes, tune ups, oil changes and smog checks with no issues, delays, or hassles. I would advise asking for "Tha" when in need of service. The manager, (I don't know his name), is a jovial middle eastern fellow with an easy-going nature and good sense of integrity. read more

Gas right now is probably at it's lowest prices in recent memory, but this place price for 87 is at 3.79 a gallon!!! That is outrageous. When I asked the cashier(Zahid, owner?) for air, he asked me if I purchased the gas. I told him no but my family is a regular costomer here. He then asked me to show some receipts. I wish I'd never come here. I brought in my Mini Cooper to check the engine light and also fix a tire leak. The shop changed the oil but couldn't figure out how to reset the light. Fortunately the light reset itself after a week. As for the tire, they found the nail and plugged the tire. 3 weeks later, the tire indicator came on again. I brought the car back, and they said they don't guarantee their work! Then they said they only do a quick fix for tires, and I might have to get a patch from the inside, which they don't do because it takes too long for most customers to wait. So I took my car to a real tire shop, who then told me that 1) plugs aren't supposed to be used on steel belted radials, and 2) the tread was low on all 4 tires, which the mechanic at 76 should have noted. In the end, I replaced my tires at the other place after wasting my time here. read more

Last week: I buy a car and take it to Chevrolet for a checkup. They give me the part numbers of the things to replace (TPS+connector). Sunday morning: I take the car to 76 and ask for a quote, I give them the part numbers. They say they would call me back in an hour or so and tell me the total price for repairs. Sunday evening: Nobody has called yet. I go there and they tell me that they're really busy and they couldn't look up the pieces. I understand if your busy, JUST SAY IT, don't make me waste a day. There was only a mechanic on Sunday so he tells me to go there the day after and they'll do it for sure. Monday morning: I get there 15 minutes before they open. I am the first customer. I explain again everything to the mechanic and go to work by bus. Monday afternoon: I call to check on the car, a disgruntled mechanic tells me that THEY will call back once the work is done. Ok, I'll wait.. Monday evening, 7PM: nobody called yet, I decide to pick up the car whether they did the job or not. No surprise in discovering that the car was still were I parked it. Not only my car wasn't done but my documents were at the bottom of the stack of pending jobs, despite I was the first one that morning. Once again, if you're busy JUST SAY IT. another wasted day. Last but not least I ask my keys back and they just give them to me without even checking my documents. I could have driven away in somebody else's BMW and nobody would know my name. read more
