THIS PLACE MADE MY GRANDMA CRY! TERRIBLE DENTIST I would strongly discourage anyone from coming here. The lack of professionalism, compassion, and BASIC customer service is unbelievable. My 80-year-old grandmother has been a patient here for the past year for dentures. They removed her bottom teeth so the dentures could properly fit, yet after all this time, she still has NOT received them. During one of her recent visits, they caused her mouth to bleed by forcing the dentures to try and fit in her mouth. When she expressed concern to her doctor, Dr. Bustillo, she was essentially blamed for the issue. Mind you, my grandmother has worn dentures for over 20 years and recently underwent heart surgery. She can barely speak above a whisper, yet they accused her of being "nasty" and ultimately KICKED HER OUT of the office. We are talking about an elderly woman who deserved patience, respect, and proper care not rude treatment and dismissal. The entire experience has been heartbreaking and extremely unprofessional. I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially those seeking compassionate care for elderly family members. read more

PLEASE READ ALL THE REVIEWS. Not just mine. Modern Dentistry is a joke and Cynthia Bustillo is the problem. I went for just a cleaning. It's been a while so I figured on there being x-rays. I was sitting in a room for 45min waiting for what I thought was the cleaning. Cynthia came in. Told me I had no cavities. Poked at me teeth a little bit and told me she recommended a Deep Cleaning. A insurance specialist came in and said my insurance didn't cover the deep cleaning and it would cost me $854. I told her no thank you. I'll just have the regular cleaning. Cynthia came back in and said I understand you have some questions? I told no, no questions here. I'll just have the regular clean. She then proceeded to tell me she couldn't do the regular cleaning because of other risks only the deep cleaning would do. Told her, that's not going to happen. She then told me we were done. I came home and called my insurance. I have Blue Cross Clue Shield. The agent told me I do have coverage for 1 deep cleaning a year and 2 cleaning a year. And no one has inquired about the deep cleaning insurance. So, turns out Modern Dentistry lied about my coverage. I wish I had read the reviews about Modern Dentistry before I went. Apparently, they tell a lot of people they need Deep Cleanings. Truly I wish I had looked up Cynthia Bustillo. So, if you want unnecessary procedures from a dentist with a BS in Exercise Science, this is the place for you. Me, I'm going to look elsewhere. read more

I went for a routine oral evaluation and Dr. Bustillo prescribed antibiotics for an infection I do not have and have never had, which is extremely irresponsible as I could develop antibiotic resistance. Later, I had an appointment with the periodontist Valdivia at 3:15 and she finally showed up at 4:00, only to babble and show hesitation about performing a functional gingivectomy procedure on two molars (she was so unsure about what she was saying, that she struggled to say either yes or no to the possible procedure). Finally, she left the room and said she would be back to do the procedure, and someone else came in to tell me that we would have to reschedule the appointment, because a surgery that Valdivia was doing was not going out "as expected". It is truly incomprehensible to be this irresponsible as a "certified medical practitioner", as they claim to be. No one here knows what they are doing, maybe except for the financial assistant Westy. read more

Worst Dentist ever. I tried to get an appointment for a lost filling. After 2 months, I went in and waited 45 minutes before they got to me. Instead of focusing on the problem, the tried to get me to pay for root canals and caps on other teeth. They operate like a used car dealership. After the dentist, they send in the finance person to set up a payment plan for outrageous sums of money. It's as if I didn't even have insurance. I feel like they are trying to rob me. read more

Today, I was at my new dentist getting a cavity in the same tooth filled when the filling the dentist from Homestead Modern Dentistry did CAME OFF and there was a cavity underneath it! Today I was a walk in patient who has had previous dental work done here but upon returning the dentist attending me asked why I didn't just go to the dentist I'm assigned with thru my employer. I think this was so unprofessional seeing as if I've always paid out of pocket and wasn't planning on going thru my insurance company as I've not done so in the past.His professionalism & unwillingness to see me was inappropriate. I was there for a basic cleaning, the doctor check me and then they start to telling me that I need a deep cleaning but that one was not covered by my insurance, the cost was $2k for a deep cleaning, then they told me that because of my insurance they can give me a discount and I will only have to pay $380 and I said no, I don't want it, I only want the basic cleaning and finally they told me, you need this deep cleaning so we can do it for $250. It was like my dental health was a piece of cloth to sell. At that moment I was there for 2 hours already but they didn't do anything because they only wanted me to do get the deep cleaning.
