Mr. Carr and his colleague showed up 15 minutes late at our scheduled home inspection without notifying us. After he explained the process of the inspection he noticed the plumber who we had contracted to perform a hydrostatic test of the potable and sewer lines. He was outraged and stated that he was not able to perform his inspection with the plumber present (our contract allowed for all inspections necessary to be performed and after his inspection I realized that nothing that the plumber was doing was interfering with his work). I wish that at that time I had terminated the inspection, however we paid them by check up front and our broker showed up (Mr, Carr had called him) who reasoned with the "Carr team" During the inspection I noticed they were working of a previous inspection report and shared this also with the termite inspector which I found very unprofessional. I think since he was so occupied checking items identified on his previous report he did not notice a broken beam in the attic and when I pointed it out to him he was aggravated, wanting me to let him finish his inspection without me following him.....His colleague had ran water in the bathtub for an hour but failed to look through the inspection panel and no observation was made on the report. When we looked through it a few days later when we revisited the property we noticed that the drain had leaked resulting in a big puddle of standing water. After the inspection he walked us through his findings and explained that the broken beam in the attic which he did not notice was nothing serious...... which I did not believe. Their report was standard and the language was very vague (not in scope, not able to inspect and it was stressed a lot what the inspection was "NOT") After the inspection I had an additional question and it took 3 weeks for Mr. Carr to get back to me. When he finally replied to my email he was very belittling and never gave an answer to my question. I will not use their services again. read more

A friend of mine highly recommended this company. My experience with Home Team was great from the very beginning. When I called to make an appointment, Lisa was very thorough in explaining the inspection process. This was important to me because I am a first time home buyer and didn't have a realtor or anyone else to guide me through the harrowing home buying process. I was told how many inspectors would attend, what they would be inspecting and was quoted a price right on the spot! The inspectors arrived at the scheduled time and were extremely professional. Each completed their inspection in a timely manner and and upon completion, I was guided through the home while the inspector explained the areas examined and why it did/did not meet passing standards. The pest inspector was able to provide details as to the type of pest and the requirements needed to get rid of them in order to protect home from further damage. I was even given a discount coupon along with a breakdown of the cost and frequency of pest treatments. All members of the inspection team answered questions and were not biased toward either buyer/seller. I would definitely use this company again and will recommend them to my friends and family in the future. Each person was professional. They were expert in their fields, and explained each area to me in terms a layman could understand. They dressed professionally, so I did not feel as if strangers were invading the house. Because they worked efficiently, they were out of the house in under 2 hours, instead of the entire day it used to take to do a house inspection. read more
