I recently had technicians Nate and Vincent come to my home and install two glass sliding doors. My appointment time was scheduled between 7:00am and 8:00am and they arrived between that timeframe. Due to us not wearing shoes inside of our home they went above and beyond to put blankets down throughout their entire walking path of my residence. All jokes aside, I was referred to this company by my friend who had his house updated with insulation, and couldn't stop talking about this company, about how great they are, and that they are the BEST in the industry, and if I update my house to be more energy efficient go to them. We have a 12 unit remodel in a 16 unit apartment building - A LOT OF WORK - and these guys were put to task to help us make all the exterior walls and ceilings more energy efficient, and most importantly, sound dampen our thin apartment walls you can easily hear neighbors through... not a good thing at all. Everyone from Matt with first point of contact, to Jorge making it all happen on the job site so everything runs smoothly, to Ricardo taking over and getting every detail taken care of, to Luis who is always precise, happy and energetic, and to Jon who always has a good story and makes sure every wall is taken care of. These guys are thorough, detailed and make sure every wall and ceiling is stuffed to capacity with insulation. Our electricians even found some walls had ceilings trusses going in a opposite direction half way through a couple rooms, so their insulation didn't go all the way through. These guys just turned around half way home, came and setup their equipment all over again, and gladly finished the job. The initial consultation was informative and helped me decide what type of insulation was appropriate for my home. The lifetime workmanship warranty that they provide is a testament to their work. Replaced an exterior French door in April 2019 using Hometime Windows and Doors so when I decided to replace the windows, didn't look further than Hometime. Jamie came out in early July 2020 and took all the measurement for the windows and on August 20th, Danny and Charlie came out to do the installation. Couldn't ask for two better guys to do the install, the were very professional the entire time they were here. Even though it was one of the hotter days and had to deglaze all the old windows which took a little longer than expected, they remained courteous and professional at all times. It really is hard to find a quality contractor. Home Performance Matters does a great job. The project exceeded my expectations and I received every dime from the rebates that they said I qualified for. I learned about Home Performance Matters while applying for a City of Covina permit. I was interested in participating in the California energy upgrade program and Home Improvement Matters was listed as a licensed contractors participating in the program. We received bids from a few contractors. We went with Home Improvement Matters because they fully listened to our concerns regarding the energy inefficiency of our house, then they put together a package with different project options. They really worked with us to find a solution that made our home energy efficient and took advantage of all the available energy rebates, while meeting our budget. Our experience with Andrew was entirely positive. Very easy to communicate with and takes the time to fully answer any questions and concerns that I had during the project. I had a full air conditioning & furnace upgrade with new ducts and vents. I also had insulation installed in my attic and outside walls of my home. The workers are very skilled and professional. They made sure everything was done to my satisfaction. The city inspection was a breeze. The city inspector commented to me that they do very good work. I was contacted by one of the owners of Home Performance Matters, he wanted to apologize. He said it was his fault that I was not informed of how thorough their inspections and data gathering are. He explained that because they handle the energy rebate details they need that level of documentation. He went on to say that they use various instruments to measure heat, air, gas, furnace emission, sun exposure and insulation in the walls and ceiling. Much more than the survey utility company sends you. It all makes perfect since! After the data is analyzed you are sent a comprehensive report showing areas in your home where BTU's could be saved or stopped with various energy saving solutions. With this repport you can really see what solutions can save the most energy and which ones save little energy. Unfortunately this thoroughness was more than I was expecting and made me uneasy. I thought it was more a consultation than analysis. While this was not for me, I'm impressed with their process and would recommend them to help unravel the mysteries of your home's energy use. read more
