I met Lucas Pinto, a realtor at Hometown Advisor, two years ago and worked with him consistently through the purchase of my first home last week. Lucas was absolutely amazing in every aspect from start to finish. Allow me to provide a few details as to what made Lucas the perfect realtor for me. 1. No Pressure. At absolutely no point in my two-year search for a home did Lucas ever pressure me to make an offer on a home. And at no point did he ever push me to make a higher offer than I was comfortable making. It was apparent to me throughout the entire home-buying process that Lucas' main concern was for me to get a home that I was happy with at a price that I felt comfortable paying. 2. Responsiveness. Lucas was responsive to every single one of my requests. If I wanted to see a home, Lucas would show it to me (keep in mind, he did this almost weekly for two years). Additionally, he would take the time to thoroughly answer all of my questions by phone or e-mail. Keep in mind that, as a first time home-buyer, I had a LOT of questions. 3. Expertise. Lucas is truly an expert in all aspects of real estate. For example, at some point during my search, I decided to broaden my search from condos I wanted to live in to investment properties. Lucas was able to explain to me what features would make a property profitable as an investment. Additionally, when I did find an investment property, Lucas showed me how to write a rental contract, how to collect payments on-line, how to run a credit check on potential renters, and how to find a contractor to fix up the property, and how to find a handy-man for making repairs when needed. Lucas' expertise was also apparent when we made offers on homes. He would also give me a thorough explanation of what a home's market value was, and what he thought it would go for. If I chose to make an offer, he would tell me what he thought it would take to get a home. But, again, there was never any pressure for me to make high bids -- just advice as to whether or not my offer would be competitive or not. 4. Going beyond. Lucas did much more for me than simply show me homes. As mentioned above, he coached me on how to be a landlord. He sent out letters to property owners in areas I was interested in purchasing to see if any of them might consider selling their home to me. He showed me exactly how to make intelligent investment decisions for rental homes (what I should update, what I should leave as is), etc. 5. Friendly. Lastly, Lucas was just a very friendly and fun person to be around. I truly enjoyed seeing homes with Lucas and chatting with him about real estate and other things. I sincerely believe that if Aaron from Hometown had not been my realtor, I would not have been able to purchase a home in this crazy Seattle market. Aaron cheerfully went out of his way to show me around Seattle listings while working around my hectic schedule. Instead of just trying to sell me anything, he pointed out the pros and cons of each listing and let me make the decision for myself. Jaye Siqueiros is a great real estate agent we had a lucky fortune to deal with. It was our first experience of buying property in the USA, so we had a lot of questions and concerns and very little confidence in what we should do and what we should not. She supported us in everything and gave valuable advice on all matters including inspection and subsequent renovations. She was always available when necessary and replied to all our calls and emails promptly. During the deal we had a delay due to the mistake made by the bank which could have put the whole deal at risk because of the limited time frame. I have worked with Nolan Vance previously, and he has not changed at all! He has high energy, is more than willing to listen, and is able to explain things that came up along the way. He is more than willing to help out in any way he can, be it prepping the house for pictures, open house or whatever....he even helped me remove the carpet in the condo that we bought! He was very instrumental in our dealings with other realtors and clients. Some of the other realtors were not not acting in the clients best interest (ie they did not want to even show us a house because they had two other offers...how did he know how much we would have offered?
