Tried to attend the 2:00pm Wicked For Good in screen 1. For 90% of the movie it was if someone was turning it off and on repeatedly. Multiple people complained several times to no wail. They should have just cancelled the showing and offered rain checks. It should have been but ruined. read more

Very dirty!! The theatre was not clean at all with trash and popcorn all over the floor. The seats were dirty and sticky. Took us a minute to find a seat. The men's handicap stall had poop smeared on toliet seat and floor. The bathroom smelled so bad. If the King and Country live showing would have been anywhere else, I would have gone there. Saw the new Indiana Jones movie today. Dirty theater needs sweeping/vacuuming, popcorn everywhere on the seats, sticky floor, sticky armrests, bathroom with only one working faucet and almost empty roll of paper towels, overpriced concessions, $4.50 for a candy bar and $4.75 for a bottle of water! Oh, and check the movie times ON THE SAME DAY you are going. Movie times changed from one day to the next! Only redeeming quality is it's closer to home. read more

Been going here for years off and on... will never be going back. I can't stand the smell any more. The whole place is unclean, sticky, grungy and nasty. The restrooms are never clean. The seats in the theater are so gross that I came home to shower. The only decent thing about the place is the workers. They are friendly and good. So sad this place has gone so far downhill though. My husband and I went to this cinema to watch a very popular Marvel movie during opening weekend. The benefit about going here is that since Seguin is not densely populated you have a fraction of a chance to get a good seat to a movie as big as a Marvel movie. There's a nice selection of drinks and the concessions weren't too bad either. I agree with other reviews that the seats in the theater are coming apart and the floors are sticky. They don't have reserved seating either. I wouldn't make this a routine place to visit, especially with children because it's not clean. But if you're someone desperately trying to see a movie before it's out of the theater or you're a movie buff with an afternoon off, it doesn't hurt to come out here. read more

Sure, it's dirt cheap at $5.50 for a matinee and $7.50 after 6:00pm. If you're in the area and the movie you want to watch is only playing here at the time slot most convenient to you, it's tolerable. However, you know something's wrong when the most memorable thing about a place was that musty smell that lingered throughout your entire visit... Antiquated as the theatre itself is, it's long overdue for a restoration... although even a basic carpet cleaning would suffice. read more

Will never come back here again. They replaced the chairs with more comfortable chairs that recline, but there was no foot rest, and they never clean them. The chair next to us had soda spilled on it. Also, they started the movie 20 minutes late. They also closed the concessions stand 2 hours before all the movies were over. Friendly staff, decent prices. It is kinda dirty and stinks in the theaters. Bathrooms were messy as well. Hi David, it was about a month ago on a Wednesday evening. It was the theater we were watching the movie in that had a smell to it and the floors and chairs were sticky and had leftover trash in it. It was about the time the kids were getting out of school for the summer, so we assumed you were probably busier than expected. In all fairness, we like King Ranger and will be going back. This is the saddest thing to say but for my whole life I've been coming here and now that their is a new owner they don't have drink carriers everything is more expensive and overall the customer service isn't great the people remain the same the only part i like about it.I don't think that it's worth it.It really gets me disappointed knowing the theater won't be the same like it used to be. read more

Came out here today, this place is cool. It's cheap and close to my family. When I have to watch my nephew I like to bring him here. Its an older place but seats are comfy and it's only 5.50 matinee for each of us. The kids snack pack is 3.50 and comes with kids popcorn, kids drink, and a small candy. Went with my husband to watch the new birds of prey movie. Movie was good and it wasn't packed but we couldn't really enjoy ourselves because an employee ( he was still wearing his uniform) came in with two friends. They had big bags of chips from the heb next door and kept making a bunch of noise. It's sad the no outside food rule doesn't apply to the employees and their friends. read more

Small theater sizes and that can be good or bad. Good prices on tickets and snacks for the kids. They are renovating so I'm sure after that this place could be very very nice. The only missing star is their bar is closed and that would have been great to have an option for an adult beverage. read more

In my opinion it's expensive, it's cheaper to go to the movies at Creekside Cinemas in New Braunfels. It's dirty and it smells bad. I don't think that I'll be back, it's better to drive 15 minutes to get to a big, clean and nice theater in New Braunfels. read more

Had a horrible experience here. Been coming here for close to 10 years recently about 3-4 times a month. Today i asked for the managers support with people talking during the movie. Two elderly famalies told me they were gonna talk whether or not i liked it. I called the manager and the situation escalated and another patron called me a bitch. I was horrified the manager allowed her to stay. The manager said i was the common link. Please!!!!! Who wants to pay to hear people have side conversations the entire movie. If the brand this place sells is this experience im better off going to another theater. read more

Great local theater with low prices. I'll tell you this too, I've been to a whole lot of big named theaters and this place still blows them away in the quality and value department. They have rocking chair seating that's the best around and the theater is very family friendly. You won't get people kicking the seats here and you'll always find great seats here because it's rarely packed full. It's like a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere, there are very few places like this one left in the country. It's one of the last great theaters around and even worth driving from other cities to come to because of how nice the seats are. read more

Can't beat it for the price. Honestly, I would not go to the movies if there wasn't ONE place with reasonable pricing. It's clean and I've always had positive experiences there. For people complaining about the ambiance, or lack thereof, I suggest they try the only other place to see a movie in this area and get a snack for under $20, and that is at the dollar theatre in San Marcos. Go to THAT dank hole with two screens and movies that are months old (not that there's anything wrong with it, it's a dollar theatre, I get it), and consider the luck of having a nice movie place in Seguin that doesn't break the bank. read more

I took my family to see a movie on Friday about half way through the movie the film messed up. While I understand projectors can have problems, for over 5 min no one from the theater had even noticed. I had to leave the movie to let the front desk know that the movie messed up. After about 15 mins the manager informed us that the movie could not be fixed and we would all get rain checks (she wrote on the back on the ticket stubs). The next day I take one of my sons and we decided to try 3d (same movie different screen) sadly the screen was so dirty it took away from the movie. Today I finally get to take my other son (yes same movie 2d same screen as the first projector issues) and while the first part of the movie,( before where they had projector issues ) was fine, the film from the point where it messed up to the end of the film was Very scratched through out the rest of the film. To top it off the box office cashier was rude and very short with us when i tried to use 2 of the rain checks that i got the girl told i couldn't use them. Worse part it was the Opening weekend of Harry Potter ! I feel bad for all the people they are making pay full price for that movie and getting the choice of dirty screens or a scratched film on opening weekend. We won't even go into the smell in the theater, sadly what was once a loved theater for us has gone down hill enough we will drive to the next town over to see our movies from now on. read more

Okay, so my first trip to King Ranger (we live in NB but have family roots in Seguin), I had terrible expectations from reviews, but it fit our needs perfectly today... Yes the carpeting was gross, but DID YOU KNOW they replaced it in recent years?? And they clean it? What more can they do?? ...I was afraid it would smell moldy & be bad for our health, but the theatre was fine. Popcorn was fine, & when I went for refill, it was made FRESH!!! It's okay to ASK how/when you can get fresh popcorn...Then I splurged on candy... THREE CANDIES FOR 6 BUCKS---WHAAAT? I love a bargain.... So it was perfect for a mid-day summer movie with kiddos! I tend to only use Yelp when I'm unhappy with a business. Decided to show some love today. King Ranger is a block away from where I live. I can basically walk across the street to see a movie, which is pretty awesome. I like King Ranger. I can appreciate the improvements over the years. Better sound quality, louder all around (though it could still be a bit louder). Concession prices are very reasonable compared to other theaters. Staff friendly. One time we had to leave a movie early due to an emergency. The next day, with little explanation, the manager allowed us to go see the movie again for free. That was cool. Except for when the A/C went out one day, it's normally comfortable and relaxed. Only a few things keep this from being 5 stars, like there are noticeable stains on many of the theater screens, floors and arm rests can be sticky at times, and bathrooms are often overflowing with paper-towels all over... but... small negatives compared to all the positive.
