The road in is newly paved and takes you around the back of the building. Big rig parking is by the highway with a pedestrian walkway up to the building. The parking lot is a fair size with no EV charging station (yet) and two handicap spaces. A small pavillion directly across from parking covers three picnic tables. Another 3 are nestled under the trees to the left. Several Adirondack style seats across the lawn overlook the road and view beyond. The grounds are beautifully landscaped. The building is small but contains a lot of tourist information on the walls, brochures to take and a volunteer to help. Hot coffee is available, two drink vending machines and one snack vending machine as well as water fountains. Clean mens/ladies rooms and two family bathrooms are located behind a display wall to the left as you enter the building. An information desk is straight ahead. This facility reclaims it's waste water and the process is open to the public in their Living Machine greenhouse area. It's very tropical with a bounty of lush, warm weather plants. Thankfully, it didn't smell like waste water in there. :) Also on site is a large Veterans Memorial, originally opened in 1982. There are several informational displays around the property regarding VT's military history. The memorial is a lovely, quiet space for reflection. A dog walking area is located on the opposite side of the parking lot with waste bags available for your convenience. Furry family members are not allowed inside the building. A volunteer was monitoring the parking area, keeping it tidy. This is a beautiful rest stop with space for kids to run, picnic areas, seats with a view, a memorial and some waste water science. If all you need is a quick pit stop they got you covered. If you have time to roam, they've got you covered there too.

We first stayed here in May 2019 on the night my husband and I got engaged. We got engaged at the top of a multi-pitch rock climbing route in Rumney. Our families live far away, so we actually FaceTimed them from this Inn to share the news of our engagement with them. We went to The Last Chair next door for a celebratory dinner then had a lovely night at this Inn to enjoy our first night as an engaged couple. We came back to the Northeast last week for a wedding and spent a couple of days up in NH to do some hiking in the White Mountains. Now that it has been 5 years since our engagement, we thought it would be fun to stay here again to reminisce! We remembered Kevin right away--he is the most friendly and generous host. He makes you feel so welcome like you are family as soon as you arrive. We probably spent a couple hours talking with Kevin throughout our stay, he is just so wholesome and kind. He puts a lot of effort into adding special touches around the Inn to make it extra charming. Afternoon wine/cheese, a fridge filled with beer and waters, a coffee/tea station, freshly clipped roses in every room, chocolates and a cute quote on the bed, a guestbook to sign in your room, robes to wear. Not to mention the gourmet breakfast he makes for you in the morning! Ours was a fruit starter followed by homemade vanilla bean belgian waffles with hand carved local smoked bacon. There's also a hot tub outside that you can use. We came on a weeknight when the Inn wasn't very busy, so Kevin upgraded our room for free! We had such a lovely time here and really enjoyed coming back 5 years later. This place sets the bar high for a Bed & Breakfast--you get all the history (from the building to the stories of those who have lived there), beautiful grounds, a host with tremendous hospitality, and so many little things that add up to make this an unforgettable place to stay. Looking forward to our next visit when we are back in NH someday!

It features cabins of all shapes and sizes, some lakeside, some mountainside, all tucked into the trees with views of rolling hills and countryside. The proprietors, Jay and Amy, are warm, amenable and kind. The cabins are cozy and well-appointed for couples and families, with fireplaces, day beds and fridges for leftovers. Don't expect luxury; this is rustic living! Part B&B, LLL offers cabins with inclusive breakfasts, ranging from standard continental to omelettes and pancakes (don't miss these... I think they're the best pancakes I've ever had). Activity options abound: soccer (there's an entire field), badminton, tetherball, basketball, two tennis courts, and a lovely grass volleyball court. In case that isn't enough, there's also an "activity cabin" with board games, toys, books, foozball, and TV for kids' movies (see photos). Post Pond, the lodge's central feature, is a glorious place to swim - the water is warm and lovely, as ponds are meant to be. There are rowboats, kayaks, canoes and paddleboards for guests who want to paddle, as well as a fleet of bicycles. If you're into cycling or running, take a meander down N Thetford Rd half a mile from the lodge to River Rd, which takes you all the way to the winding Connecticut River. Birds, butterflies, and peacefulness abound. (Pro tip: take your first right from N Thetford onto Breck Hill Rd for the most idyllic country scene you've ever seen.) LLL's head chef, Janet, cooks up amazing, healthy fare like kale Caesar salad, pesto linguini, grilled chicken, burgers, corn on the cob, steak, jambalaya, zucchini fries, and other fresh cuisine. There's always a kids menu with hot dogs and mac n' cheese, and you can order lunch - and ice cream cones! - through the side kitchen window to dine lakeside. Twice a week there are delicious summer buffets - on Wednesdays and Sundays, LLL is hopping with BBQ, music, juggling, swing sets, see-saws and watermelon. They are also open for dinner on weeknights in their dining room, which is classy without pretention (think tablecloths and napkins, but in a cozy, homey setting). If you ask nicely, they'll set up the most glorious outdoor table under the spreading oak trees with a view of the lake, and you'll think you're in heaven. (Warm rolls and salted butter come gratis.) Amazingly, everyone who stays here manages to become friends, and it starts to feel like home. If you come during summer, prepare for the occasional thunderstorm with raincoat and umbrella... or, better yet, just live in your swimsuit! Sunblock essential, water bottle and flashlight helpful. Cell service is spotty and no WiFi in the cabins, but that feels like a blessing. If you need to plug in, grab a couch in the main lodge or barn. Whether solo or traveling with family, LLL is an amazing place to vacation, have dinner with the kids, or relax for a weekend. This place is a godsend.
