Hush puppies and fries were the best part about this place. The slaw was alright. The service was good our waitress was quick and polite. The catfish tasted very weird and not like catfish. The steak was ordered as medium rare and it seems to have been more well done. The fried shrimp was okay as well as all of the sauces that came with the combos. All of the meats/seafood items just tasted like they had been frozen before being cooked and not fresh. The restaurant itself was a nice vibe although not much booth seating, so be prepared to sit in high top chairs. I would only come back and order something else like gumbo to try. If you're looking for good seafood I recommend skipping this place and trying somewhere else.

Drum shrimp n oysters plate with fries

Stopped by on a whim after hearing good things about this place. It's a nice, small, busy restaurant. We ordered the alligator bites as an appetizer. They were just okay--not bad, but not great either. Our server was friendly and attentive, but I was disappointed when I ordered the catfish, shrimp, and oyster plate and was later told they were out of catfish. I switched to the drum, shrimp, and oyster plate, and my husband ordered the same. The oysters and shrimp were both good, but neither of us cared much for the drum. The filet was thin, not very meaty, and a little dry. Fries are just ok. Overall, the place is pricey for what you get, and the food was just okay. Not a bad experience, but not one we'd rush back for. Lastly The server charged us for 3 plates as he forgot to cancel the catfish plate, took forever to try and correct the bill. Overall experience was not that great. 2 stars for shrimp n oysters.

Saw this place earlier in the day and we decided to try it for dinner. It was amazing. We ordered the crawfish boil, catfish fillet, boudin balls, cup of crawfish etoufe and gumbo and jalapeño hush puppies. My husband had the banana foster old fashioned and I had a frozen pina colada. This was hands down the best Cajun seafood we have had in Corpus Christi.

The service was very good, as well as the food presentation the voodoo fries are good and the calamari is too but the crawfish could've used some flavor.

The food was great! I definitely recommend getting a boil. My server, Cam, was amazing and will be coming back and asking for him! Can't wait to come back!

The crawfish is served "wet" which we normally don't dig but what makes it wet is the pool of Cajun Butter that makes everything super flavorful.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5…read moreAmbiance 4/5 My party of 3 came on a Saturday afternoon after visiting the weekly farmers market in the parking lot and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. You can tell that the chef(s) pour their heart into eat dish prepared. My mother in law and I both ordered salads and my wife ordered the snapper tacos and we all ate every single bite! The ambiance is great for a casual family meal and there is also a bar area as well. My only suggestion is for the restaurant to please oh please put a bit into upgrading the bathrooms. It really is a disservice to the customers and experience when some of the stalls don't close and the toilets are literally falling apart and closed with plastic instead of the normal parts they should be. However, we will be back and recommend it to others for a great casual meal with excellent food, good service and reasonable prices!

He is usually a pretty good judge of restaurants, so I trusted his recommendation. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a mistake. Our server, A.K.--whom my dad has affectionately called "A.K. 47" for years--was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and did an excellent job. If you decide to visit, I would highly recommend asking to sit in her section. I ordered the oyster and shrimp plate, and unfortunately, it was disappointing. The shrimp were acceptable, although I have certainly had better. The oysters, however, were gritty with dirt and did not appear to have been properly cleaned before being fried. Both the shrimp and oysters were coated in a flour-and-cornmeal batter. It was fine, but nothing memorable. The coleslaw had absolutely no flavor, and I'm honestly not sure why they bothered serving it. I wish I had taken a picture of the plate because the presentation was just as unimpressive as the meal. That said, I was not expecting anything fancy, so perhaps I should not have expected much more. The atmosphere was typical for this type of restaurant--casual, basic, and nothing fancy. It appeared clean enough and was generally what you would expect from a place like this. Overall, the excellent service from A.K. was the highlight of the visit, but the food was not good enough for me to return.

I say that as there is a difference when you go to eat somewhere and you are hungry versus being famished. We were famished. Walking in, it reminded me of other crab shacks we have been. Nothing wrong with that. The wife is basically a mermaid so will eat any and all from the sea or ocean. I did find it interesting that there are signatures over pretty much every single surface you can find sans the tables and floor (there were even a couple on the TV screen). Too much? For me, yes. But unto each their own. Other than that, pretty cool place. Everyone was friendly. Though we were having a late dinner, there were still a a lot of dinners so service wasn't the fastest. But they were still attentive and checked on us until we got our waitress. My wife ordered a bucket with shrimp with head on, Manilla clams and calamari with 3 sauces. I got the fried half and half, shrimp and catfish but I also got an order of their special seasoning for me (which evidently includes all their seasonings) and their hushpuppies. (They are frozen but the waitress said they are good so I decided to give them a shot.) When the food arrived, it was a good amount of food. It also came really quickly. My wife barely talked for the entire meal. Other than praises on how good everything was. That is saying something. She is definitely picky with her seafood. I tried some of it and it was great. Mine hit the spot. Fried food isn't hard but it is also easily messed up, all mine tasted fresh and the batter was very tasty. No bad taste from the oil. The sauces/seasoning. That is the best thing to me. it is all in melted butter with garlic and other seasonings. They really add great flavor. Enough that we took them with us. All in all. Very happy with dinner and looking forward to our next trip there.

They came out hot, juicy, easy to peal, spicy but not the heat that makes you sweat. I was VERY pleased with the food. Beer was cold and there's a full bar. It was very casual with paper "table clothes", hand written messages spread wall to wall. The staff and guests were all very friendly. I have not a bad thing to say about this place. If you head this way, expect a wait. Thankfully we found a couple open spots at the bar and avoided the 25 minute wait. ...That's a short wait time based on other reviews.
