After an annoying experience at Inspiration's town location, we headed over to HomeWorld on Beretania. The town location seems smaller than the Pearlridge one, but had a couple of different couches. The variety suited what we were looking for better: a simple, modern design without armrests. It seems like the store is really light on staff but is appropriate. The two people on the floor were walking around, checked in an appropriate amount, and didn't lurk around; the complete opposite of Inspiration. We ended up finding a couch we liked. Checkout was completed in 5 minutes. Why not a 5 star review? Shipping is going to take 6 weeks! While it might be COVID related, the person who helped check us out said the couch was popular and that someone earlier in the day inquired about it too. Went to Homeworld Beretania about 3 weeks ago to look at their couches after looking through Inspiration with no luck. I was interested in a Stressless couch, but was very concerned about the size (getting it through my old condo's front door) and type of wood in the frame (termites). Lila was incredibly helpful - answering all of my questions and discussing every possible way the couch could fit through the door (it could). She was very professional (not pushy!) and provided her contact information since I was still a bit hesitant to commit to the purchase. I contacted her this morning and set up a time to meet her. I'm pretty sure I paid TOO damn much for the sofa set we just purchased. Despite this, shopping for it was an OK experience. Homeworld staff was very accommodating, allowing us to measure the pieces and move them around at will to try out various configurations. Our sales person Shawn was patient with us and the kids. They also let us switch out ottomans for an even trade- as my wife didn't like the one included in the set we purchased - so we got to pick another one. There's not always a good deal on the furniture, but the deal on financing was fantastic. Over this weekend I believe it's 0% interest for 36 months. Furniture was delivered on time. The guys delivering it were efficient, friendly and strong as oxen!!! read more

We went in to look for a couch, a new bed, and mattress. It was the Sunday of Labor Day weekend so there was a steady crowd flowing throughout the store. We had just come from another furniture store with no luck due to a lack of customer service. The salesman who was at the front door greeting guests ending up helping us very efficiently and we got what we were looking for. I was very happy that he listened to what I was looking for and provided customer service to get us in and out of the store quickly without being too pushy on upselling any products. I love furniture stores because I love decorating- should have done it as a career! I finally bought a place since relocating to Hawaii, so am very excited to decorate/furnish the place! I was referred to Natalie because I work with her sister. She is very nice and helpful, although she did get called away quite a bit- busy Saturday. I was able to find a sofa, bed frame, and two rugs from her. I would have bought more, but some things weren't available. It's a good thing I walked into the connected CSWo store and found the other pieces that I needed. I will definitely be back as I fill my new space! I custom ordered a sofabed in October 17, 2020. Here is is May 26, 2021 and I still have not received my order. The "Sales Lead" tells me maybe it'll be here mid-June. If I had known it would take 9 months I might have made a different choice. This is the 2nd time we've had trouble with delayed delivery from HomeWorld. I had the best experience at slumber world. My sales person was Fern Cannot and she was extremely helpful in my mattress selection. She was helpful but not pushy. She explained features and allowed me time to decide my choice without being over bearing. I fully recommend using Slumber World and ask for Fern. There was a slight mix up on delivery, but it was delivered promptly the next day and Jason the manager took full responsibility and apologized. We told him what we were looking for in furniture and he took us right to everything we needed. So far we only purchased two items, but we might come back to purchase more. Now with the advent of motorized furniture, purchase of extended warranty and customer care is very important. If your recliner/furniture has moving parts the chances of it breaking is a real possibility. When shopping for an infinite position recliner at a discount furniture store, I asked about their warranty. They have extra remotes if it breaks but basically you would have to contact the manufacturer. INspiration Interior was not even an option bc of past experience. We bought a pleather couch and it almost immediately started to peel. When they were contacted about it, the basic reply was... Pleather peels in humid environments. That is why there are on sale now and that they will no longer be carrying pleather. Translation, "Sorry" your suck with the couch. When HomeWorld Furniture delivered our infinite position recliner, it had a creek when moving. I had concerns on the longevity of the piece. An hour after delivery, we got a call to see how everything went. When I mentioned the creek, they scheduled a swap out in two weeks. The new chair arrived with no creek. Thirty mins later we got a follow up call. They didn't even charge us for the second delivery. Looking forward to replacing pleather couch with one from C.S. Wo & Sons furniture stores. read more

I had an incredible experience shopping at Ashley HomeStore for the first time thanks to Andrea!! I came in July 2021. She was the first person who greeted me and she was very upfront and honest from the start about the inventory and shipping backlog. I told her what I wanted and she was able to show me the available couches and dressers that would best fit my style. She did not disappoint! She was very patient with me as I roamed the entire store more than once and I took pics of all the pieces I was interested in. On top of that, we began to talk story and we found out that we have so much in common! The furniture was delivered in time and is so gorgeous, I'm sooo happy with it!! I went back in October to buy a matching high chest, but they didn't have it in the showroom so I went to this gallery and to my surprise Andrea was there! But she was so busy with other customers so I didn't want to bother her. I found out from another salesperson that the high chest I want is unfortunately on back order and won't be delivered until February or March, so that day I only had to pay a percentage of it. That night Andrea calls me cause the other salesperson told her I missed her and she gave me a discount on the high chest! I am so grateful for that! A couple weeks ago she called me to check on me and also told me the high chest is on further back order until April or May which was a little disappointing to hear, but it was so nice to hear from her. Be careful! My Boyfriend and I came here to seriously look for a new bed. The reason I'm giving these guys at least 2 stars is because they had a great selection, and I became educated on what type of bed we needed and wanted. RE: Sales Representative- BE CAREFUL! They are your traditional sales reps you do not want to be fooled by. Ask questions and make sure they've covered everything. I originally didn't want to buy a bed that day. But the sales rep mentioned they have a great return policy so that in 60 days, if I didn't like the bed, they'd come back and pick it up. It wasn't until after he swiped my credit card, however, that he told me any return would cost me a 25% restocking fee, and that I don't get my money back and would need to apply the credit toward a new bed. I WAS PISSED OFF! I contacted their business manager to have the charge reversed immediately. Again, great beds. TERRIBLE SALES REPS. My mom and I went to Sears Outlet yesterday and found the same bed for half the cost, better customer service, and better policies. Just sayin! read more

Came here to look for a few larger pieces. Some good quality items, but mostly overpriced and a little oversized--the scale seems off for some of the designs, and I can't understand why they want 4 figures for some MDF. I'm not a furniture snob--I can live with some MDF on a few everyday pieces/pieces for kids, but I'm sure not going to pay $3000 for it! But the Homeworld/CS Wo combo is a staple in Hawaii furnishings, now. Customer service is kind of hit or miss. A friend had a great experience here, so we came on a recommendation. The very nice older lady who was our salesperson showed us a few things and took her time...sort of. We thought she was thorough and lovely, until I went off to the bathroom while she was checking on a leather sample. I overheard a conversation between her and another employee about how she wasn't sure if we were worth her time! Yeah, ok. Thanks, but no thanks. Took our money and found a better deal in another store. Buh-bye, sale... Some of the displays are inspired, but the overall taste caters to a...more mature crowd. Not a lot of contemporary pieces. Think old Hawaii estate furniture. If you have the 1920s 8000 sf estate on 3 acres in Nuuanu and like really large furniture, this is definitely going to have what you want. Large selection, price seems ok but they did not have what we liked. And the quality did not meet. Once we had purchased the whole cedar furniture, so excited with the new furniture set. My BF got allergic reaction from the cedar fumes? or chinese wood treatment? They needed to be returned. Cedar keeps bugs away, could damage your sweetheart too. We are not sure if we are just unlucky but most of the furniture we bought from HomeWorld need to be repaired. Besides that what we cannot stand is that their Customer Service is not responsive! Most time we had to called them to follow up because they did not provide us the status update. It's been 4 months since we purchased the furniture from HomeWorld but we are still waiting for them to fix some issues. 7/19/14 We bought: King Size Bed, Dresser, Night Stand x 2 and Leather sectional sofa 7/25/14 King Size Bed, Dresser and Night Stand x 1 were delivered. We found a door part of the Dresser (issue #1) was not working properly on the day and they said their customer service would call us back to schedule the repair but never called back and we had to call them. 8/22/14 Night Stand x 1 was delivered 8/25/14 We found storage drawers of the bed were not closed completely and the rail was broken (issue #2) . We reported the issue to the customer service. They said they would call us back for the repair schedule but they never did. 9/4/14 The repair guy came to fix issue #1. He took the picture of issue#2 and said he would have customer service to contact us for the repair plan/schedule but they never call us back. 10/1/14 We found another Dresser door was not working properly (issue #3) and called customer service. 10/8/14 The repair guy fix issue#2. Leather sectional sofa delivered and the delivery guy found the sectional clips were not matched (issue #4) and they said they would have their customer service call us but they never called us back. 11/7/14 The repair guy came to fix issue #3 but could not fix issue #4. He took some pictures of issue #4 and said we would expect a call from customer service. We told him we always had to call them as they didn't so asked him to make sure we will get a call from him. 11/14/14 We called the customer service as we did not get a call from them. The customer service said the color might not be the same if they replace the half of the sofa. We told them replace the whole sofa and we are now waiting for their schedule again!!!
