I haven't been to Quest to get blood work done for quite awhile and some positive changes have been…read moremade to make the experience much better. First of all - Quest now has an app for your phone that can be downloaded for free. You make your profile including your insurance information. Once that's done you can make appointments through the app and get your lab results when they come in. Very handy indeed. Once your appointment is set they will confirm your date and time via email and send a reminder. On the scheduled day prior to your appointment you will receive a text message with a link to sign in upon arrival. This expedites the process. Secondly, the inside the waiting room has changed. Plenty of seating with a computerized sign in center for those who don't have their app. There isn't any lab techs out in the waiting room to sign people in or take insurance information. The door to the phlebotomy cubicles is locked with a numbered lock to get in. When it's your time a tech comes to the door and lets you in. In each cubicle there is a computer which they input all your information including insurance which the patient verifies if correct. My tech was Jenny and she was excellent. Great personality and wonderful for getting my blood which is very difficult to get. One stick which I hardly felt and a quick five vials later I was finished and out the door. All in all a great experience for a necessary procedure. I will need to ask for Jenny the next time I have to go.

When one goes in for a blood draw, they are usually fasting, and I was without my coffee which didn't help my mood. When I arrived the check in line was thick. Apparently other people were caught unaware of some new policy regarding the check in, I found out why. Instead of being able to just enter a confirmation code I was given when I made my appointment, the system needed my driver's license as well. So I had to get out of line, go to my car and get my ID. The young lady was nice, but her stick left me with a bruise for over a week. The result came in E-mail not all at once within 24 hours, but in bits and pieces over four days. I don't know what has happened to this provider, but I doubt I'll go back!

Inside the waiting room is large with plenty of seating available and the reception desk is located at the far end of it where you go to sign in. A sign states to wait several feet away if another person is at the desk. This idea is great - it gives the patient confidentiality. My wait time was short before I was called back for my procedure. It was a little bit of a walk back to the CAT scan room and I passed by restrooms for patients conveniently located near the front. My CAT scan tech was very nice. He went over the entire procedure since he could tell I was a little apprehensive about how it worked. The procedure took only a few minutes and he explained everything that needed to be done, he even helped me sit back up since I was a little dizzy. The front desk personnel were also friendly and professional as I paid my co-pay. All in all a very good experience where I felt well taken care of.

They violated my patient rights today when I went to request a copy of my own MRI report from 4/22/26 in person. The unfriendly receptionist told me they only release records to primary care physicians which is a violation of patient rights under HIPAA of 1996 and the 21st Century Cares Act of 2020. I will be filing a formal complaint. Enough is enough!

Instead of removing and restarting properly, she repeatedly moved the needle in and out of my vein. This was uncomfortable and concerning. Eventually, she removed the IV and wrapped my arm. She called for another woman to assist, but when that person was unavailable, a man nearby stated he could help. She agreed and left the room. The second staff member applied the tourniquet extremely tightly. I told him it was very tight. When he inserted the IV needle, I immediately told him it was very painful and that something did not feel right. Despite this, he continued. When he attempted to inject fluid, it infiltrated into my arm rather than into the vein, and the area around the site visibly swelled. Only then did he remove the needle. I have never had difficulty with IV placement or blood draws in the past, including blood work done just two weeks prior without issue. This experience was painful, distressing, and felt improperly handled. I am especially concerned that my repeated statements about pain and discomfort were not taken seriously.

Superstar Energy at Gulf Coast MRI…read more I was in severe neck and shoulder pain and needed an MRI ASAP. My doctor originally sent the order to BayCare, but the soonest appointment they had was a month away... at 5:45 a.m. on a Sunday. Absolutely not. So I started calling around and Gulf Coast MRI got me in the very next day. Immediate win. From the moment I walked in, the ladies in the office were AMAZING. This was my first MRI ever -- and I ended up needing two -- and they walked me through everything step by step. They were so kind, so patient, and totally held my hand through the whole process. They didn't take my insurance insurance (but they do take some), but it was $300 per body part, and honestly, between my HSA and what I would've paid toward my deductible anyway, it probably cost me the same (or less). For next-day service? Worth. Every. Penny. The machine is loud (no surprise there), but they let me jam to 80s music the whole time, which made it way less intimidating and honestly kind of a vibe. I walked out with two CDs in hand and they let me know my doctor would have the radiology report within a few business days. Efficient, friendly, professional, and just overall great humans. If you need an MRI and don't want to wait weeks while living in pain, this is your place. Total rock stars!
