My doctor ordered an ultrasound test done for me at sugar mill diagnostics. After the ultrasound I was told it would take two to three days to evaluate and send results to my Doctor. It's now been 11 days so far and they don't answer their phone when I call or when my doctor calls. I have call about 5 times with no success. My doctor's office said they're difficult to communicate with. In the future I will go somewhere else and never go there again. read more

It 's funny people have problems because I never doI go for ct scan on my chest& never have a problem.When I call for appt& recording picks up,I tell them who I am& leave my#& they always call me back.I go for all my xrays& scans& never hv a problem.My docs also get results,If not it takes them like 5 minutes to get them.I will continue to go there to.Never hv to wait long either. read more

Setting an appointment is impossible to get through on thevphones, they have someone in there that does not know how insurance works. They do not send the results back to your physician. Good luck! read more

I like the owners, but I'm getting increasingly concerned about their ability to maintain the equipment in their business. I was scheduled for a scan of my spine and a mammogram on the same day, thinking I could get a lot done in a single morning. No such luck. The mammogram machine was down and so now I have to go back in an afternoon in the heat of summer without deodorant to finish up these required tests. It also means my doctor won't have the report when I see her. The help they have is also erratic. You oftentimes can't reach them by phone but have to actually come in the office to make appointments. Then you have to check in like a patient there for a procedure. I wish they could resolve their labor issues and keep their equipment running properly. If this inefficiency continues, I'll find another facility. read more

Payment system went awry with my insurance company. That was my fault. SMDI turned it over to a collection agency without warning me. I corrected the problem with the insurance company and provided proof that I had paid the bill. The collection agency still will not acknowledge that I have paid. read more

I tried for over an hour to make an appointment and each time the recording said my call was next I was instructed to leave a message. Making an appointment on line is not an option. And, any business that tells me to have a "blessed" day is unprofessional. What does that mean, exactly? read more

I continually get billing emails for services I have NEVER had done at sugar mills diagnostics. What's worse is the phone number listed on the emails is non-functioning. Called their local office and they confirmed I have never had any of these billed services performed by them. read more

My dad fell and hit his head and hurt his shoulder. The doctor sent an order over, stat, for a CT scan on his head and X-rays on his shoulder. They told him they were busy and sent him home! Rescheduled til the following week! Doctor was supposed to get results that day. They called and said oops days later. Still waiting on X-ray results. Thanks goodness his head is ok! read more

Had an x-ray. Over a week ago. My Dr. still has not received results. I called SMDI three days ago and left a message for them to call me back. No call back. In the mean time I am still in pain and no one to give me advice based on the x-rays. read more

I had to make an appointment, tried calling for 4 days and left messages, never called back. Went to the office to make an appointment in person and was told to sign in and wait my turn. Went in for a routine mammogram, one breast is bruised and swollen. I've had the test before and never felt so much pressure that I was screaming in pain. After icing and Ibuprofen all weekend, I called the office manager on Monday morning. She was out sick but the technician called me to belittle my concerns and LIE saying as soon as I started screaming in pain she let up on the pressure when she only told me to hold still as she ran to her computer for the image. I also have implants. No issues on the left. This kind of pain will definitely be remembered for future visits. As the tech told me I was free to go somewhere else, I think that's one thing we agree on. read more

I recently visited the Sugarmill Imaging Center for the first time. Having just moved to Florida from NH and securing a new primary care doctor, I was sent for a mammogram and my first Dexa scan. I don't think I waited more than 5 minutes once I was checked in. The second scan, with a different tech than the first, was ready and waiting as soon as the first one was done. I found the staff to be friendly and inviting, even to the extent of being called "Hon or Dear" my many. Maybe this is a southern thing? When I was first in nursing school we were taught to not use the terms of endearment as it was considered disrespected!?!? Maybe times have changed. Though I would prefer to not be addressed this way, I can accept it as the southern style. Thanks everyone. read more

I have been seeking my diagnostic services from SMDI through out Florida for over 20 years. I have to say that this Homosassa office is by far the least experienced crew, I have run across. The tech at my appointment after I told her she would need my left arm for the IV, proceeded on my right anyway. After not finding a vein at the bend of the arm, she proceeded to insert the needle on the side of my wrist. Strange but I allowed it. It was painful and finally I stopped her and asked " Are you inserting and then pulling it back out repeatedly"?, she said yes. I instructed her to seek out my left arm again, due to the pain. At this point my wrist was throbbing. So now instead of putting the needle in where every other technicians have in the past, she inserts the needle almost at my elbow and repeatedly inserts and pulls it out. At this point I advise her that I will rebook, I just didn't say that I would re book with a different company. They have lost a long standing client today. I suggest you staff with trained technicians in the future. read more

I went to Sugar Mill Diagnostic Imaging for a routine mammogram and a DEXA scan. When I checked in, the receptionist never looked up from her computer screen while saying "Can I help you?" She never said hello, never made eye contact, and never smiled. These are the little appreciated things when going into a medical facility. I was surprised that the mammogram hurt. They appear to be using the older imaging machines that squash the breasts painfully. My last mammogram at a different place was very little pain with different type of machine. At least it's over. The DEXA scan was uneventful The tech said my spine was "brittle." Well, I did see that I have a curve in my spine which is probably hereditary since my grandmother and mom had curvature of the spine that was noticeable. The tech was very nice, but I don't think she should have shared some of her comments. They may have alarmed someone else, but they didn't particularly bother me. I was seen by the technician right on my appointment time. read more

I was having a medical problem and first had to go through a CT scan. Made an appointment by going to the front desk because my Drs. office was close by so decided to just go and get an appt. I was met at the front by Julie who could not have been more friendly, understanding and professional. I was in a bit of a state because I was very worried about my medical situation and she really helped my mental stress by her attitude and helping me. Went for the CT scan aat the appointed time at a later date. Lori was my tech and was incredibly nice to me and couldn't have put me more at ease. She really knew what she was doing. After that I had to come back again for a MRI but my doctor had ordered without contrast but the doctor there and my incredible MRI tech got together and called my doctor to explain that without contrast it would be not much different than the CT scan. I am allergic to the old IVP dye and was not aware of a newer contrast solution but they talked my doc about that and got the ok for me to have that. My MRI took a long time but not because of any clitch or problem. I just had to have a lot of area done and then you have to do first without contrast and then with The woman who did my MRI's , Maryann was so remarkable. She has been doing this for a long time and her experience showed. She actually had me laughing and smiling during this stressful (to me) time so I am so grateful. The other folks I had dealt with were also beyond kind, considerate and professional. Kim, thank you..you are a gem! thank you to Tabitha and Amy. Everyone honestly made these difficult times so much better. I won't consider going elsewhere! read more
