My doctor ordered a CAT scan so Citrus Diagnostic was on my insurance plan as a provider. The outside has a nice handicap ramp which makes it so nice for disabled people to get into the building since it's a little high up because downtown Crystal River gets flooded during storms and hurricanes. Inside the waiting room is large with plenty of seating available and the reception desk is located at the far end of it where you go to sign in. A sign states to wait several feet away if another person is at the desk. This idea is great - it gives the patient confidentiality. My wait time was short before I was called back for my procedure. It was a little bit of a walk back to the CAT scan room and I passed by restrooms for patients conveniently located near the front. My CAT scan tech was very nice. He went over the entire procedure since he could tell I was a little apprehensive about how it worked. The procedure took only a few minutes and he explained everything that needed to be done, he even helped me sit back up since I was a little dizzy. The front desk personnel were also friendly and professional as I paid my co-pay. All in all a very good experience where I felt well taken care of. read more

The techs were great, but the business office is terrible. I cannot get my results. They keep saying they have a new system and cannot get me a CD nor can they get it on the patient portal. I have been leaving messages for over a week now for medical records and they have not called back. I've talked to multiple people and I just keep getting transferred to another person who cannot help. It is ridiculous - if the system cannot get it on the portal, why is there no backup way for a patient to get their results? They have lied to us multiple times - so it is difficult to let this go. If I could give zero stars I would. I had a screening mammography and a diagnostic mammography there. They found that I had two calcifications on my breast. Not being satisfied with the results due to women being pushed through like a heard of cattle, I went to Moffitt who performed a diagnostic mammography. They found another spot on my breast, and I was told that Citrus Diagnostic did not even screen my entire breast! RUN FOR THE HILLS! On another note, NOBODY ever returns a call or responds to an email. I have been trying for 3 1/2 weeks to speak to the accounting department, to no avail. read more

Very incompetent and unfriendly office staff. Every time my spouse and I have needed something faxed they claim they sent but it is never received by recipient. They are defensive and unprofessional. I would not write up a complaint on anyone if it was just once or twice. I let the other times slip by but this is the last straw. I have surgery in 4 days and instead of fixing the issue and assuring me they will re-send the x-ray to the proper fax number they used the time on phone to blame the recipient and being argumentative. read more

Unfortunately, I've had a hard time getting anyone to answer the phone in any department and they have not returned any calls from the messages I've left over the past 3 weeks. I overpaid on my account back in January. I have been trying for 3 months to get them to send my over payment back to me but they just keep ignoring my calls. Had an appointment on Tuesday the 18th for a scan. But on Monday I had minor surgery that developed complications so I couldn't make it to my appointment. I called twice Tuesday morning due to getting home from the hospital late Monday night and left two messages. Never got a call back from either one. Disappointing, always liked it there. *Edited: In the state of Florida, a mammogram is not legally mandated as the absolute first step before any other tests for pre-cancer screening. After being completely ignored and never called back after a week went by, I had to reach out again to them and then was passed around the office to multiple people back and forth. There are ZERO excuses for all of this extremely unprofessional and very concerning behaviors. You do not treat patients this way and I make sure everyone knows about this place. Now I was told they could do a bilateral breast MRI test instead when prior I was told they would refuse to see me if I don't have a mammogram. What you are doing is very wrong and shameful. Kate L. the office manager never called me back, tells me she never received my voicemail, then switches it to she was off last week, to now they did see my Google review and were waiting for the doctor and whoever else first. The male doctor was absolutely the most unprofessional and kept over talking me with nonsense. I have a referral from my doctor to get a bilateral breast ultrasound for pre cancer screening instead of a mammogram. I called to follow up with my referral and to see how much it would cost me out of pocket in case my insurance doesn't cover it. I was told that per their policy, I have to have a mammogram done first. I asked to speak to a supervisor about this absolutely ridiculous claim and had to leave a message. Got a msg 2 wks ago that my mri was approved to call and make an appt. When i called and got the mri dept.and they now nothing about it. So had dr send approval and then called 2 days later and still they know nothing. Very frustrating when you get a msg saying its all good and you dont get any answers and no one nows anything about the call. I recorded and played it back and still got a terrible reception from the person who answered the MRI line. When I first received my referral for ultrasound I called Citrus Diagnostic Center for 20 minutes as I was driving over there just redialing over N over. No one would pick up the phone-So I arrived and went in to schedule an appointment. The day of my appointment I was being held up in Ocala, so 45 minutes before my appointment I started to call to find out if I was late would they still see me or should I reschedule. I tried different numbers-I tried billing, medical records, MRI, etc NO ONE Would pick up the phone. I called Suncoast Dermatologist ( they gave me the referral) to see if they had a way to contact. They had the same number. Since I wasn't able to reach them I drove to their location Crystal River and arrived 30 minutes late. The desk lady said your appointment was for 3:30 it's now 4:00 you'll need to reschedule.... I'd like to see your manager was my reply..... I said when she come to the desk -Can we talk here -She said let's go in this room (more private) I started out by saying I don't want to be seen today I told her the situation-I showed her my phone to point out the numerous times I called with no one answering the phone I showed her how many times I called with no answer when I tried to make the appointment. She says we're very busy but then she said I'll talk to my staff to get better. Better!!!! Better!! Reading past reviews this is an ongoing problem that they continue to have. Citrus Diagnostic Center is impossible to get a live person to answer the phone or call you back to schedule an appointment. I had to press the number to be connected to billing just to speak to a live person. After a very long hold a live person came on the phone. I guess when it comes to getting paid they will speak to you. Every year I go through the same thing when my doctor orders these same tests. I was never able to make an appointment with Citrus Diagnostics - after my doctor faxed the radiology order TWICE and I faxed it as well, for a total of three times. I was told they never received the fax. They verified that the fax number being used was correct and I could prove that at least the fax I sent them went through successfully. They said without the fax in hand they could not schedule me. Seems that this office is a bit disorganized at best which would worry me about any test they would do. Stay away from this place if you don't want to get Covid. My fiancé, who is a liver transplant patient, just had a CT scan with contrast done today. The technician did not wear a mask even though she knew he did not have an immune system that would protect him from the Delta variant of Covid. She had to put a needle in his arm to inject the dye therefore her face was within inches of his face. He did have a mask on. What medical facility allows their technicians to not wear a mask during a pandemic is unimaginable. read more

Thanks to the entire staff and especially Kate: Our family Doctor sent my Husband from his morning appointment in Beverly Hills to Citrus Diagnostic Center in Crystal River for an ultrasound to rule out a blood clot in his leg. They accommodated us time wise and Kate went out of her way to make sure he was comfortable and at ease. We had an assist from Dr. Amin but they made it seem like we were there on a regular basis getting tests once a week!! I have been getting my annual mammograms there for many years. In Oct 2015 it was found to be abnormal and I was to make a fup appt to have another I waited a whole month for an appt and results were positive for malignancy . My primary immediately made me an appt with a surgeon for a biopsy that was positive for cancer. I went thru 2 breast surgeries, to hear that word cancer was so trumatic . I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Since then I have gone every 6 moths to a year after surgery radiation and bad chemo and thank God tests have been normal. My last mammogram was Sept. 2018 and again it took a month for results.It us very upsetting and scary each time waiting for results to know I am ok. Due to length of time getting results I wrote a letter to Dr Scott on staff there complaining of the lengthy wait on results. He took offense to my letter of which I kept a copy . I was scheduled for a mammogram this week and after " the machines are down" and transferred to. Other depts I was told They refused me the medical mammogram my Dr ordered because I stood up for myself complaing of how long it takes to get results .If you have ever had cancer or other disease or ailments you know the fear of waiting on tests. Now to be refused medical tests ordered by my Dr is unbelievable. After being treated like that I will never go there again.How dare they play around with my health because I complained , you left me hanging and refused care. So much for " Do no Harm. There equipment is never working right I was self pay. I went in there for a Gaul blatter ultrasound. Which i had several over the years before and after. three techs came in . Not one could get the equipment to do right. never even put it on me .They told me i was to fat at 225lbs they could not do it. the kept my 325 dollars as according to them it was me not them. I had a mammogram done here and received a bill for a doctor out of St. Petersburg, FL. I had to Google the doctors name to figure out who he is. I couldn't find any published affiliation on his site for CDC. The director of CDC is a Radiologist (according to their website) so why would my images be sent somewhere else? Made an appointment for an open MRI. Having to wait a long time to get the appointment got there and they only had the closed MRI. It was the worst experience of my life. I will never use that place again. The waiting room chairs are dirty and stained if you can't take care of the place close the doors. Not the friendliest group of ladies at the front desk! Stood at the desk and got ignored for a bit and then she had attitude. Even my husband, who doesn't usually comment, said she was rude. He said the others were as well as they dealt with clients. Another thing, the stench in that place is ridiculous. Quit with the air freshener stuff! People are there because they aren't feeling well; they don't need to be overwhelmed with scent! Over a three year period I incurred misread mammograms, CT scans, x-rays and reports suggesting a further scan which had previously been completed and in my record which obviously the radiologist did not bother to search. The Mammogram technician was unfriendly and sloppy, always leaving out the axillary and upper chest areas normally included on a patient with a history of breast cancer. Having been a nurse for many years I also found reports to lack depth, detail and therefore have mammograms done in Ocala and all others tests at the U of F Health in Gainesville. It is worth the travel to enjoy competent and safe medical care! read more
