They bully you into purchasing the extended warranty then when you go back the NEXT day to fill in the paperwork and put down your $20,000 deposit you tell them you have decided NOT to do the extended warranty and he said "Well the paperwork has been turned in" disrepecting the fact that I literally told him I COULD NOT AFFORD THE PAYMENT WITH THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. Dishonest, accusatory, ruthless, disrespectful, and ignoring would be 5 words I would describe Honda Financial services as. I have been a loyal Honda customer for over 10 years now, having made many references to friends and family along the way, and never missing a single payment. When I leased a new Honda, I assumed my existing automatic payments would continue since my monthly amount remained the same after a large down payment. During the whole process of leasing, I was told my automatic payments would continue. Little did I know, they were not. I didn't realize it until suddenly, my perfect credit was destroyed. Look, I mean it was annihilated, okay. Much to my surprise, I was delinquent on my Honda payment. I had no idea how this could be, as I received no notifications. Immediately I settled the balance, and then called Honda Financial service, where I was spoken to like an fool and accused of lying. It turns out the folks at HFS had been sending the notifications that my payments were not going through because they had the wrong information on file, to no fault of my own, but were ruthless in basically telling me I was screwed anyway. No humanity shown. If the dealership had reminded me to renew my autopay when I leased (Like they are supposed to) or entered phone number correctly, I wouldn't have missed payments. Like I said, had perfect credit. Instead, HFS was ruthless and unforgiving - pure corporate greed. My relatives and I will switch to another automotive company with better customer service at the earliest opportunity. I would never in good conscience recommend anybody to use Honda Financial Services for any reason. Turned in my lease and a month later received a letter saying they would not release the title (not my problem) unless I completed an odometer disclosure statement (which I completed at the dealer). Not to mention the form requires you to input the current mileage (of the vehicle I have not had for a month). Trying to make them understand this was mind boggling. Would NOT recommend. Disorganized Company, Wish I Never Leased From Them There have been over 40 phone calls with Honda, explaining the situation with rep after rep, only to hear 'that's above me and someone will reach out to you'. No one reaches out. When the month-to-month lease was renewed back in December 2022, your Honda Finance representative explicitly stated that once I no longer wanted the car anymore, all I needed to do was drop it off at any Southern California dealership. That very question was clearly asked and answered. The Signal Hill dealership refused to fix the car's condenser after the problem was diagnosed in Downey, arguing that Signal Hill would charge me for its own diagnosis. I decided to return the car there, at Honda Signal Hill, per the only information ever provided to me via Honda Finance. The owner said he would not accept the car and would thus file it as abandoned if I do not pick it up. I placed several calls to Honda Finance to ask why he was refusing to accept the car. Your representatives were telling me instructions as to what to tell the owner so he would take it. My response to your reps was, "YOU tell him!" Their response was basically 'that's above me and someone will reach out'. No one reached out. I finally got someone to at least try to assist. From there, your Finance Department wrote a letter to Honda Signal Hill, asking the owner to accept the vehicle. The owner again said no. I told the owner he is unfriendly and incompetent...but I was only half way right. While he indeed is unfriendly, the title of incompetence goes to Honda Finance. It took 13 phone calls before any Honda Finance representative said, for the first time ever, that the Signal Hill location was not a location which accepts corporate cars. This would explain why the Signal Hill owner was so baffled when Honda Finance wrote the letter asking him to take it. Honda Finance didn't even know its own protocol. It turned out that it is Honda Cerritos which takes corporate returns, a dealership which is only a 15-minute drive away. I would have happily returned it there on 17 June if Honda had instructed me to, as it is even closer to my home. It makes absolutely no difference to me as long as I am informed properly. It took 1.5 months to even figure out what the problem was. Back in August, I sat down with the Signal Hill General Manager John Pill. He flat out told Honda Finance you guys are doing this all wrong and that you have been giving me the "runaround" for quite some time. From this very lengthy call, this was the first time EVER that a third party called "True 360" was mentioned in any conversation. It turns out that True 360 would need to come to a location of my choosing for an inspection. 3 months after dropping off the car at a dealership Honda Finance approved, I was finally told, for the first time ever, that all we needed to do was have True 360 come to Honda Signal Hill. Keep in mind John Pill also called Honda Finance several times, asking for instructions. He got the same confusion I got. True 360 went to Signal Hill Honda in September I believe. So you think once True 360 finished, you guys would relocate the car and we are all done. Right? No. The car sat in the Signal Hill lot for months before the dealership arranged for it to be towed over to Cerritos (I do not know which dealership paid for it). Once it got to Cerritos, I was told I was months overdue, with an outstanding bill. Pretty much, Honda is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. read more

We have been a Honda regular customers for years. Currently, we have two 2024 models. However, I had overlooked a payment for the month. I received a recording telling us to call HFS. We called and talked to a rep. that we missed a payment. We told the rep. that we get the email reminder statements but Honda failed to provide the due date on the statement. We told the rep. that they need to changed their email reminder with the due date added onto the statement. We were told that it is our responsible to keep up with the due date. We find that usual because other billing email statement from other companies have the due date reminder on theirs. Yes, we paid the bill up to current, but we continue to receive a recording to call HFS for last five times as of today. The reps. on the last two calls refused to let me talk to a manager to get this annoying calls fixed. IT can fix the problem. Their excuses is that their either busy or some bs or we will take your number and have them call you in two days. What a coward way of handling customer services. Are the managers lazy or plain stupid to pick up the phone? What a bs call center! We are paying guys salaries and this is what we get for bad customer services. The short version is that Honda has zero customer loyalty, long wait times, and is generally unresponsive when you do get through to them. My family has been buying Honda cars for over 30 years, and we have either used Honda's financing or the financing the Honda dealership preferred in most cases. The current wait time can be around an hour. For one call, it disconnected when someone answered. One representative stated a policy as if it was a law. I had to research it to find the truth. After a few calls, the representative finally told me that I needed to ask my question in a letter. I did write a letter. The response I received indicated that no one had actually read my questions. It wasn't signed. It looked like a form letter. So, what do we do? Honda requires a letter so I can't call. Honda doesn't read the letter, so why write another one? I am pretty much writing this review to rant because I am about to mail another letter to ask the same question for the third time. Plus, the representative offered forbearance, which I did NOT ask for or need. Fortunately, I turned it down. I later learned from a loan agent that it could have hurt my ability to get a loan. So, Honda Financial offered me an option that could have caused financial hardship. My experience indicates that human representatives read from a script and the mail is not really read. Not that I am all that thrilled about a finance company, but as they go, it is pretty hard to fault them on anything. I have done two vehicles with them without trouble. I don't see how one could complain about a company like this unless one defaults or something. Many dealers are using no-haggle system, like Classic Honda in Orlando. They all went to train in Minnesota how to do it. Very refreshing experience when my wife bought her Fit. We also got a free tv with the deal. If you are at a dealer, tell them what rate you are willing to pay. Recently, they started with me (not at a Honda dealer) at 6% and they ended up at 2.86%. Dealers get residuals on some loans they originate, so they will try to keep it high as possible. Car dealers have thin margins, so that money is important to them to operate. They have very little wiggle room on MSRP, contrary to what most of us think. The big difference is new no-haggle style, vs. old-fashioned confuse the issue, up-sell and keep you in the dealership for hours. This can be any brand of vehicle. It varies by dealer style. They do that so that once you have invested that much time, your walk-away power diminishes psychologically. Always, always keep your walk-away power. If, after talking with a salesman, if he goes to get his "manager' you know you are in the old style. You can still get a deal, but be firm on what you can pay, and what rate you are willing to pay. Be realistic in view of your credit score. Even at 700 score, you are not going to get no-interest financing. read more

Only one because you cannot go lower... They incorrectly posted a 9000.00 payment to the wrong account and refuse to acknowledge or reverse it. All of the documentation they requested I sent them. I have been unhappy with every interaction I've had with HFS. First, when my house burned down and I missed a payment because I didn't have a mailbox anymore and had not been able to find a place to live, they charged me a late fee. Just now, I called them to make a new address change, and their phone menu did not provide a selection for making such a change, nor do they "invite" you to talk with a representative. You have to yell "Representative!" into the phone. Terrible service approach. When they switch me to a representative they said that my wait time would be 16 minutes and 2 seconds! THIS IS HONDA!!!! A leased car is NOT personal property and you should not pay personal property on a leased car. But with Honda Financial Services, you do. I paid off my car and have not received my title. I called and waited 25 minutes to speak with someone to find out what happened. They mailed it out on June 28th, and it is now July 18th, and I still have not gotten it. Why was this important document sent through USPS and not Fed Ex or UPS? If I was offered either of those options, I would have paid the 6 or 7 dollars for a safer, more guaranteed method of delivery. Now, I have to pay $60 to DMV to get a duplicate title. Being a single parent makes this a hard pill to swallow. I did nothing wrong, yet I have to pay the price for other peoples' stupidity , carelessness, and ignorance. I will continue to post negative reviews on all social media sites until I feel justice has been served. I have read other complaints about this same issue. Sometimes they have the best rates and the website has always been easy to use and no issue getting the titles promptly sent when cars were paid off. Have used this for 3 of my vehicles with one active (last payment Dec 2018). I am sure they are not good with you getting 60 days in the rears. I have never been late so no experience there. But the key is to be responsible and to be effective in your communication. Try to build an emergency / rainy day fund and not to live check to check. Countless people make excuses and I get that it is tough out there. But making excuses doesn't solve anything. Rise above and be a better you. This was my first experience with dealer financing, as I always used bank or credit union financing. I qualified for .09 % interest, which could not be beat elsewhere. I had no trouble with either initial paperwork or subsequent activity. I set up ""bill pay" through my Wells Fargo account, and every bill was paid on time without issue. I check my online account with HFS every month, to be sure the payment was credited and have had no issues with Honda Financial Services. I have had nothing but trouble for four months trying to get payments credited to my account. The first and second payment were made at the dealer before the lease booklet came, and Honda Finance denied receiving the second payment from the dealer. It took a month to sort out, during which time I had to make an extra payment, so that they do not post it to my credit. Eventually, it got resolved after many phone calls. The fourth payment was set up as automatic payment, and I received confirmation of successful setup and verification of accounts 17 days before the payment was to be withdrawn. I was shocked to get a call 15 days after the payment due date demanding payment. They told me that they require 23 days from setup to actual withdrawal of payment. There was no mention of 23 days, or any days in the confirmation paperwork. I asked to talk to the manager, but the rep resisted. She was extremely rude. She refused to accept ownership of the way her company operates, and kept asking do I want to pay or not. I asked her to at least remove the late fee, and she agreed, but it is still posted on the account. Disastrous company and disastrous customer service. read more

They repossessed my car NOT for lack of paper but because I didn't MAIL them the signed papers. I do not go to the post office... Who goes to the post office. Its 2014, everything is done online nowadays. It was very frustrating to come back from a business trip and do not see my car on the garage knowing that I was current with my payment... The car was taken to the worst repossession company ever... Took me more than 10 phone calls to get my car back. Besides that they had horrible working hours!!.. I ended up having to rent a car to be able to move around! As if it was not enough... AFTER I returned my car I thought my headache with Honda was over... NOT REALLY!!.. 1) They are charging me for a Repossession fee I have already paid for in April and they want me to give them an itemized receipt because my Credit Card statement I faxed them (Yep! Hello everyone - Some comments - people seem surprised that they repo your car when you fall behind in your payments, that's the way the world works. If you lose your job, you need to find a way to continue those payments because the banks do get cranky when they don't get their money but so does any creditor out there. There are options besides keeping the car - you could sell it and pay off the loan, or, God forbid - call Honda and explain your circumstances and try to make payment arrangements. Chris N, in your situation it sounds like the dealer messed up and didn't send your payments, I think you are mad at the wrong people. I just purchased a new Civic and so far have had a very good experience with HFSC. I am working with the division in Torrance, CA. My dealer handled everything and I qualified for 0.9% financing. I received all of my paperwork well in advance of my due date, and I have already scheduled my first payment, my goal is early payoff. They offer several options: Automatic withdrawal, on line, over the phone or via the postal service. You want to pay a few days in advance to avoid late fees and allow them time to process your payment. If you see that your payment has not posted to your account you need to get on the phone then and straighten it out, don't wait until they are ready to come and take the car. Also, making a partial payment if that is all you can afford is better than making no payment at all. Take some responsibility for yourselves and stop getting mad at Honda because they expect you to pay for the car. read more

in August 2018 I purchased and leased ( for the first time ever and never again) a 2018 Honda Accord Sport form Coral Springs Honda and realized a month later that leasing a car is tool used by the Dealership and finance company to continually screw the middle and poor class population. The Finance and Insurance salesman at the dealership stated at the time of purchase that the lease provided " GAP INSURANCE" that would cover the difference between what the Individual insurance company would pay for the value of the car and any outstanding loan balance at the time, if there was a total loss of the vehicle and that was of no cost to me. As a result I was induced to purchase an extended service and tire plan at the cost of $1200.00. In May 2019 the car was stolen from the parking lot in from of my rental apartment and never recovered. After eight (8) weeks of nightmares with the Insurance company and Honda financial services I received a final statement showing that I will have to pay and additional $800.00 to pay off the loan with them. Instead of filing a claim with their ''GAP INSURANCE COMPANY" for the difference they used the refund from the cancelled service and tire extended warranty and billing me for the difference. I wish to be compensated for the wait time from my full car lease pay-off to the receipt of a corrected clear title. On 4/23/21 a pay-off on my behalf for the amount of around $14k was wired to Honda Financial Services my my North Am. Title Co re: Lease # 00000417299115000 prior to the 5/19 payoff due date. A Bill of Sale dated 4/29 was mailed to me along with an incorrect Certificate of Title with a handwritten misspelling of my name by Kenny Lang of Honda Lease Trust. Once received on 5/13, I called their # (800)708-6555, Ext 5 to report the error. It was acknowledged by Timothy that this was their company's error and would need to reissue the corrected title. On 5/28 for an update, spoke to Ashley who abruptly hung -up on me after saying that it may take another 30+ days since the issue was sent to a dept. on 5/18 to decide to forward the request for a corrected duplicate title to the state. June 1, I spoke with Amanda who refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor because she said that they were all "too busy" and I would be contacted within 24 - 48 hours. June 2 (9:35 am) - Supervisor Adrian Diaz left a voice mail message the same "sorry about our error... no compensation" for not being able transfer my title or sell my car...). (9:40) am - I called back to go on record, waited over 18 min. request compensation for the delay of clear title... call dropped. (9:57 am), called again and call dropped again! (9:58 am) called back and left my # for on recording since the wait was 20 min. (10:20 am) There was a call back from their #, but my phone only rang twice. I called to request a call back. (11 am) Adrian Diaz called to say that there would be no compensation for their transaction error, but I was welcome to take legal action with their contact: CT Corp; 1999 Bryan St. #900; Dallas, TX 75201. I would not use Honda finance again to finance a vehicle. I thought I had one more payment left, but due to a few late payments they don't tell you there is simple interest accruing on top of your payment and interest given to you when you first get your car. I do have one more payment left plus about $3000 of interest even though I paid the late fees. The customer service Rep I spoke to name Tammy/Tamie (spelling?) hung up on me. I asked for a supervisor but she hung up. I called again she pretended it wasn't her. Left a message for the supervisor and have yet to hear back from him. At this point, it is crazy. Honda Financial Services has reached a new LOW in sleezy collection tactics, so listen up everyone! Stay away from Honda Financial Svcs!!!!! Everything I read in the prior review happened to a family member of mine, too - almost duplicate. I called them myself and got a taste of their tactics. It was unbelievable that a financial service, representing a good car company, could have stooped so low. One of my favorite lines used by Robin in the Recovery Dept was, "We told them they had 5 minutes to make the payment by Western Union or MoneyGram or the car would be repossessed." I was dumbfounded and asked her to repeat that. She did. Now how could any human being grab a coat and car keys and even get in their car in 5 minutes? Much less find a place to send a moneygram? So they make it IMPOSSIBLE for you to make your payment, then repo the vehicle when it's almost paid off... My daughter called to discuss payment with Honda Financial Svcs one day and the person she spoke with immediately went on a "personal" attack with comments that were extremely hurtful and unwarranted; "What kind of person are you that you don't make your payment?" My daughter's answer was simple, "Unemployed." But a new job was on the horizon and she had hoped to make arrangements to get caught up. We made an arrangement with this company to pay any and all back payments on the following FRIDAY. Honda agreed on the telephone. But they sent a repo man to collect the car on THURSDAY, one day before the payments were to be brought current!!!! And of course, the only way we could get the car out of repo was by paying the past due, the current, and all future payments (6) in one lump sum. I do believe these practices are unlawful. (Oh, and they claimed they had NO record of the agreement or even the conversation. This is a tactic they use regularly - no record of your conversations to work matters out. Be forewarned!) I could go on and on about this company and it's underhanded dealings. But be very clear about one thing; if you choose to use this company, you will lose! We did a little research into the value of the Honda they repossessed from our family... There were only 6 payments left on the car, so thousands in principal and interest had already been paid to Honda Financial Svcs. By repossessing the car and selling it at auction, with a Kelly Blue Book value of around $12-$14,000, they would stand to almost double the revenue received for one little CRV. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! I had a wonderful experience with honda until I had to deal with honda financial services. They charged me over $700 for a 2 inch crack (which I have never seen) on my bumper after handing in my lease regardless of my $1500 wear and tear allowance. Apparently, anything over $500 is considered excessive and they won't cover it. I have never been late for a payment, I am a good honda customer and yet I still got screwed. I tried speaking to a supervisor at Honda financial services and all I got was a smart-ass who did not care and offered me settlements. I understand that a financial institution is not something that we can go, "Yippeeee! Yay!! I love turning my money over to them...." The reality is if you contract to buy a car using a loan then you have to pay it off. My application and approval was within minutes of applying, and I had a great experience buying a new van for wifey. In fact, if I ever sold it without first replacing it I would be scared to sleep next to her if a pillow was within her grasp. The finance experience was great despite having to actually spend money which physically pains me! Now, regarding repossession.... if you lose your job the FIRST thing you do is call all your creditors and explain your situation. Generally, if you are square with them they will restructure your payment or let you miss a couple payments. DO NOT wait for a creditor to contact you if you know you are delinquent. The reality is that financial institutions do not want to deal with repossession or foreclosure. Also, the people dealing with collections were born without a heart. They were probably cloned from stem cells, never see the light of day, and coffee is their blood. They are exceptionally grumpy because of the lack of vitamin D, they have not slept in decade, and their replacement is being spawned in the broom closet as they talk to you. I say this facetiously so we understand that the first contact with them is not going to be positive. They have heard every excuse in the book, and they're NOT buying your excuse EVEN if it is the TRUTH. Point: Call them first and explain so you meet the person at the front desk who is a true human and not cloned expendable bitter humanoid running on coffee. Regarding the financial crises.... it is a nice out to blame ONLY corporate greed. The big banks certainly did their part, but so did many people. There were a lot of people who were refinancing and borrowing to overextend themselves beyond the the BFG in Giant land! (Remember we bought the mini van....kids.... family...). One big lesson to learn from that time: DON'T BLINDLY TRUST LOAN OFFICERS!!!! That is not to say that they are all bad. I mean honestly just because 99% give the 1% a bad name is no reason to doubt their integrity. :-D (Joking.... reread that if you didn't catch it....) When signing a loan take the time to crunch the numbers. Take the time to think about the implications of signing on the dotted line. YFirst off stay as far away from Honda Financial Services as possible. While everyone generally needs to finance a vehicle, I strongly recommend that you go elsewhere to find your loan. This company is a consumer nightmare. They up front load fees to your account when you obtain it. For the responsible person, this can be very costly. Next, the organization is not consumer friendly open 9-5 M-F. Hard to call if you work and want to be responsible. Read the reviews and I agree. I've sent in payments and they do not post promptly. At present I am trying to pay off a vehicle so that I can sell it with the title. 15 days ago, final payment was sent- at this time still not posted;any other type of payment costs. I finally today put a stop payment on the check, and am sending another check with certified mail. I lost out on the sale of the vehicle waiting for their lack of responsibility. I the consumer am being held accountable for their lack of responsibility. Any organization that does not have a good collection box/payment posting service is remiss and loosing. Perhaps the CFO of HFS needs to know about this. They probably would go ballistic. And to call their customer (non) service; all they do is parrot your questions, provide no resolution, ask a million questions to ensure they have your address (looking for you to default), are patronizing and non helpful. The blame is always deflected elsewhere. Have these conversations been horrid- absolutely. They do not want to resolve the challenge, don't tell the whole story to resolve the issue correctly, but expect you to understand their system- and when you don't the blame returns to the consumer. I was to get a call back within 24 hours, did not happen. called at 4:55 and promptly disconnnected at 5pm in the middle of a sentence. At this time there is still no resolution. AND THEY DON'T CARE about you, they only care about themselves. Oh, and one of the representatives told me I had ADHD over the phone- how does a company place a medical label? I only had questions to understand what HFS does. Companies survive or don't survive based upon consumer choices- choose not to finance with this organization and your actions will be noticed and will speak for you. Honda Financial Services are great! They financed a car for me and the interest rates was excellent and the service was just as good. I only have a couple of things to say to a few people who left feedback. 1. The guy who leased a car and had to pay personal property taxes. Hey man! if you live in a state that requires you to pay those taxes, too bad. When you lease a car, it is yours until the end of the lease. Honda has no control over your local tax requirements, so give me a break. Cry to your local government for your problem.... 2. to the lady who blames Honda for the bad economy and not understanding why Honda would get upset about your payments being late. Give me a break!! It was thanks to your president Obama for the state of the economy, so i don't blame Honda for giving you a hard time. 3. This for the girl who was three months behind wondered why Honda would not accept her cashiers checks... They did not trust you any more to make your payments. To them you became a deadbeat because you did not live up to your end of the bargain. The only advise i can give people like you is if you had called Honda when you first had a problem and kept the line of communication open, i'm sure they would have worked with you somehow. They are not in the business of loosing money and they won't cheat you out of anything as long as you are honest with them. For future reference, don't buy a car that you cannot pay for comfortably and always keep in mind that it is not always going to be rosy. This is the first time I have EVER left a Yelp review. The only reason I am starting now is because I have never in my life had such a terrible customer service experience...in my LIFE! Seriously, this topped them all! First off Honda, Maybe start offering a customer service course to prospective employees because WOW! Here is the thing, if I have an issue I feel like I can call Honda Financial and get clarification on whatever the case may be. Not a big deal right? Well, that is exactly what I did and what I got was hung up on...I KNOW! I have been in business for 30 years dealing with customers and that is not even an option when dealing with a customer. You just do what you can to make them happy! Guess what Honda, we don't have to be your customer!!! Without customers you would cease to exist. The story: I called Honda asking why I owed a specific amount at the end of my lease. I had made all my payments, paid late fees etc., and I still had an amount due. So I did what any other person would and that was call to see what that amount was for before I just made the payment. No big deal...well not according the '"supervisor", Kelly, who was by far the most rude, incompetent, under qualified "person" I have ever had the displeasure to speak to. Before I could even get my question out, it was "WE ARE NOT GOING TO WAIVE THE AMOUNT, I KNOW WHAT YOUR TRYING TO DO!" Well.....to say the very least, I was shocked and I didn't know what to say at first. I kept asking her to calm down, let me speak to which she continued to speak over me, cutting me off, accusing me of this and that. All I can say is, I have never ever spoke to anyone the way she spoke to me. Shame on you Honda for hiring someone so rude and so mean to represent what I thought was a wonderful company. After this account has been settled, it is the absolute last time I will ever buy a Honda again. All the others are so different!! Infiniti, Lexus, Mercedes.. Honda should take a lesson from one of these companies!! I have never heard from anyone, that I know who has a car with any of these other companies, anything like what happened to me. I will tell anyone who will listen how awful this experience was. I expected more. Kelly, I do not know what has happened to you in your life that you are such a miserable and awful person, but I truly hope you seek the help that you need.
