Super sketch. $1800 later after two trips. Absolutely no car up in the garage due to road construction. Think about that for a minute. Desperate. Translates to screwing you. Went twice for the same problem. As I left the first time the guy says, "we guarantee our work blah blah". Then I take it back in with the same problem and he tries to tell me, "this is different than what you told me before". No. I take notes, go on forums, research and then research. I pull up my notes and he stops talking. Then they want to charge me another $129 for diagnostics. No. I pay and I am never going back. read more

My mother was told she needed new rear brake cylinders and quoted a price of $571. I asked my own repair guys, who have an independent garage, what they would charge for the same service. They quoted me around $250, so I decided to take it to them. I brought the car in today, and left it at my service garage. An hour later they called to tell me they could find absolutely nothing wrong with the rear brake cylinders. They had taken the car for a test drive and looked for leaks, but they could find no evidence that the cylinders were bad. They ended up changing the oil, replacing the wiper blades and saving me $571. Honest 1 Auto, you should be ashamed of yourselves for trying to take advantage of a vulnerable elderly woman. You can't get a whole lot lower than that. read more

Not very honest... I would give them a zero if I could. Went in last winter for a very simple fix- rear tail light bulb out. I'd normally replace it myself but it was winter and I was busy at that time, I work nearby so I figured why not? Dipped it off in the AM, don't get a call back until after 3:00 and when the guy calls, I hear nothing regarding the tail light. " hey we want to take hit for a test drive and check this and that" I was suspicious about a few things regarding my car, so I let them. An hour later I got a call saying that there's 10+ things wrong with my car and it's going to take thousands of dollars to fix. Asking me where I usually take my car (trying to gain my business and offer "better pricing") So after denying all these parts and services I really don't need, I get there after eight hours. They explain again all of the parts and services I "need". They show me a few things in the shop where there's 5 guys standing around BS'n and one pulls around my car. After his expensive long winded speech I asked him "you fixed the tail light, right?" He shuffles through his papers and quickly realized no one even fixed it. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? He tried to set up a courier to "not waste more time" but I was pissed by then and I have an Audi so they couldn't even get the part that night. Had to go back in the following morning and deal with these fools again. This place does NOT care about YOU. They only want to sell you on more services instead of servicing. read more

I brought my daughter's car in for an oil change in March and by mid-April she was stranded with a dead engine that was bone dry in the crank case. Will never bring another car to Honest-1. read more

I went to Honest 1 after they opened in the neighborhood to get an oil change. They asked me if I also wanted my air filter changed and I said yes. They said they just had to wait for the part because it wasn't in stock, but it would be there soon. After waiting an hour, they said the part wasn't coming. I paid for the oil change and left. It wasn't until my next oil change that I found out they never put my old air filter back. Also, they sent a letter to my house about a week after my oil change listing everything they thought I should get fixed on my car. However, they didn't seem to notice they included the letter to another customer in the envelope and they needed to fix the same things. My car is relatively new and didn't need those repairs. read more

Honest-1?? Maybe not so honest I went to "Honest-1" because of a vibrating noise my car was making. They told me that it was a bad power steering pump and gave me an estimate of $700 to repair it. I thought that was kind of high so I checked around. Another shop gave me an estimate of $385, which is $315 less!!. When I told "Honest1" to cancel the appointment I had made with them because I found a much better price, they said that they would match that price. I do appreciate them matching the price, but why did they give me such a high estimate in the first place? Was it based on actual parts and labor costs or on how much can we get out of him. I let them do the job, but needless to say I will never go back there because I will never be able to trust that their estimate would be an "honest one". Additionally, they later said that I also needed a power steering pulley which was another $125. I asked them when I first brought the car in if perhaps it was the pulley making the noise and not the pump, but they assured me that it was the pump. After replacing the pump they said that they both were bad and that the bad pulley messed up the pump. I asked to see the pump, but they said that they already sent it back (in exchange). Okay, maybe that was all true, but after that crazy initial price thing, I was just suspicious of their honesty and it made me wonder if they were telling me the truth. read more

I had previously left a review raving about this place; them always being friendly at the desk, how they explained things simply to me, and just am overall kudos. But after my fiasco last night, I can no longer stand by any compliments to this place. They may be nice guys, but not when they don't follow through with work I've paid for. I have had problems with one of my tires for months. I thought it was a puncture wound in the tire, but upon one of my many visits to Honest One, they said that it was probably just a problem with the sensor not reading the air pressure correctly and not to worry about it. Fast forward to yet another visit to have them look at the tire, when I thought it had a puncture wound or nail in it, and they looked at it closer and said was this not the case. They ended up finding a problem with the tire rods and control arms, which needed a nearly $1,000 replacement job, and yet AGAIN asked them to look at the tire. I mentioned that the pressure had been holding better lately, and not plummeting daily like usual, so they said not to fret about it and call if there were more problems. At this point, I'd been in at least 3 times in a matter of weeks - with no solid answers. Yesterday, I set off on a 300 mile road trip. I'd put air in the tire the night before. By the time I left for the trip in the afternoon, only 20 hours after filling the tire, it had lost 10 psi. I was told to just fill it to about 40 psi, and it would be fine. After a few miles of driving, it was at 35. And in the 150 miles of the first half of the driving trip, I'd stopped for air 4 times, the last time with a reading of 14. Thankfully, I'd stopped in front of an auto body shop and called the 24 hour line. I was immediately assisted, and the mechanic told me EXACTLY what was wrong with the tire after looking at it once, for just a few seconds. He jacked up my car, took the tire off, repaired it, and sent me on my way. All in the cold of winter, in the middle of the night, and in the dark.... when the guys at "Honest" One couldn't see it in broad daylight, four times, and have me excuse after excuse after excuse.... but had no problem taking my money over and over and over again with no results. I will never go back to this shop. Never. And I'd advise all other automobile owners who value real honesty and their dollar's worth, to never do business there either. Their name does not reflect their way of doing business. read more

These guys are first rate. They always work with me on what needs to be done and what I should have done. They do tend to only use warrantied parts that cost a bit more, but I feel it's worth it in the long run. I'm proud to say they are my go to place for work to be done in Anoka. read more

WARNING! STAY AWAY!!! DIS-Honest. Do yourself a favor, avoid this business! $70 for an oil change, after I was told it would be $40. It should have been $20. They fabricated a story about the car leaking oil & transmission fluid, so they could take advantage of me and raise the price. How can people look you in the face and lie, just to make a buck?? And then go home with a clear conscience and blithely carry on as though they are "honest" individuals? How can people like this live with themselves, or take any pride in themselves and / or what they do for a living? Spread the word about this business, tell everyone you know to stay away. Look around for some more reviews - and not the reviews on their web site - and you will see. The reviews speak for themselves. Never again will I go back here. I went here because my regular mechanic usually takes a little more time than I would like to repair things and I couldn't afford to be without a car for more than a day or two. They quoted me 600 bucks to fix a cracked front pipe and and replaced some gaskets. I just couldn't afford it, so I decided I guess I'll just bite the bullet and try to figure out a way to get to work for a few days while my car sat at my regular mechanic. He was able to get it in, weld the crack and replace the gaskets and get it back to me the next day at a cost of 100 bucks. Do your research before agreeing to any repairs. read more

I have gone to Honest One for all my oil changes time after time, and have told other friends and family to do the same. I like how they go above and beyond to check the tires and lights and other items in my car which I may not be aware of otherwise. However, the last time I went for an oil change two crew members were very rude and unpleasant towards me. I admit my appointment was close to closing time and I had arrived a few minutes late but they would not accept my car for services when I arrived. This is not like any service I've ever received and I will not return to this facility going further. I left the shop in tears of frustration and took my business else where. read more

Brought my car in for a squeak noise when making a 90 degree turn. They said the boot needed to be replaced but that they couldn't duplicate the noise. After paying $500 for an oil change, tire rotation and new boot, I drove out of the parking lot making a 90 degree turn and I immediately heard the squeak. They were closed so I wasn't able to discuss their poor assessment. It is clear they didn't make an effort to duplicate the noise. To make it even worse, two days later I get a flat tire and brought it into a nearby tire store. They said the tread was so worn on the inside due to poor alignment. The tire place said that no mechanic would see the tread on my tires and not notice there was an alignment issue. Honest-1 never mentioned the wear on the inside of the tires or that there may be an issue with the alignment, and they did a tire rotation?! read more

Approximately a year ago, I posted about how Honest One fixed a steering issue with my Toyota Tundra and did a great job. Since then I have had nothing but problems with this place. Today, 1/26/2016, I dropped my truck off at 130 for an oil change. I told them I would be back around 5pm, which gave them 4 hours to complete a simple oil change. When I arrived back to the shop at 6pm, the oil had not been changed, but they told me that my truck would be the next vehicle up. I told them I did not have time and nor did I want to wait which is why I dropped the truck off. They gave me my key back and offered no apology. Unfortunately, this is the second time I dropped my truck off and they did not complete the job. I guess its a crap shoot if you get good service or not, but I will not be returning read more

I brought my car in because it was stalling in traffic. I was told it needed a sensor replaced. I was charged $184 for having this done but the next time I drove the vehicle it still stalled out. I spoke to someone at the shop who said to bring it back in. I asked if they would charge me to look at it again I was told no. On my second visit that week they told me I needed a different type of sensor, that would cost over $500 to replace. I declined to have this done as I was beginning to suspect they were just trying to get as much money out of me as they could. Then I was told I needed to pay them a fee of $59 for re-diagnosing it. Even after I told the mechanic that the other employee told me there would be no charge for having them review the problem again, he argued with me about it. I didn't like the way I was treated, I was unhappy that I allowed my son to drive the car after they told me it was fixed the first time and this put him in a dangerous situation. They should have figured out what was wrong the first time. I later went to a dealer who is charging $137 to replace this sensor. I would never go back to Honest-A1 auto care, I feel they are NOT honest. read more

Honest-1 Auto Care is fairly new to the area so we thought we would give it a try. We had just purchased a used Chev Blazer and wanted to have it looked over and any issues diagnosed. One of the issues that we had was that the heater was blowing cold air. They quoted us $900, $700 for the part (we found the same new OEM part for $150 and a used for $40), $200 for labor. This was actually the second place that we had brought it to, the first actually replaced the shocks, tie rods and pittman arm and told us that the ball joints need to be replaced. We asked HONEST-1 (and I use that term very loosely) to look over the suspension and they said the ball joints and and the bearings were bad, the other place never mentioned the bearings and they had it torn apart to do the other work. There were three other customers in the place when we were there and none of them looked happy, in fact one of the customers was disgruntled about being told one price and then when he picked up the car paying another price. read more
