Every time I come here, I get horrible service from between getting there 430 and not being able to get in just because it's going to take too long, even though they proclaim their oil changes are only 15 minutes and there was only one car left in front of me in the line .. my stepdad is handicapped and I came in today to get my stepdad's oil changed and to get his fluids filled, including Tires filled up with air .. I was denied service by one of the employees saying that it would take too long for me to get that done. I asked if I could just get the tires filled up with air and I was also still denied service .. completely horrible time I'm gonna be digging into his deeper and calling the review line they offer to also inform them about this all taking place .. read more

After having a rental car fall through, I needed an oil change quick for a road trip and these guys delivered!! I have not been to this location before but I will continue to go to this location due to how awesome the service was!! This was early morning, so there was no line and I was able to get in very quickly. Normally an oil change would take about 15-20 which is still super fast! But because I was the only car, these guys worked on my car like a pit crew and I was out in 10 mins! These guys changed my oil, topped off my coolant, changed my windshield wipers, changed the engine filter, pumped up my tires, and topped off my washer fluid! They all had awesome customer service! I also got a discount, which with a flyer is pretty standard but I didn't have the flyer this time. I believe the value was great and I am happy with how far my dollar stretched here! Inept. went In for an oil change, left with oil leaking. Went back 3 times in a week to get them resolve the issue. They told me they are not mechanics and I should leave to take it to one because they couldn't fix it. So I did, got it fixed, filed a claim, which they refuse to pay. read more

I came in on a Sunday for a simple passenger headlight (low beam) replacement. They quoted me about 20 bucks. I watched as at one time I had 4 mechanics looking under my hood one holding a large screw driver. He was stabbing the screwdriver onto the back of my headlight unit. After about 10 minutes of that, they came and told me that I had a broken wire, could that have been caused by you stabbing a screwdriver into the headlight unit? Also thanks for leaving your screwdriver in my engine compartment so that could be thrown around under my hood. Charged me 20 dollars and sent me in my way. Without fixing the headlight bulb at all. FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO GET WORK DONE IN YOUR CAR. read more

I had my sons go to this Valvoline location to have their oil change before going back to college in Wisconsin on July 7th. The car they were driving was a Honda CRV, which has a skip plate covering the oil drain and filter. Initially, I was happy that they were able to get their oil change and were able to go home as planned. However, I got a call from my sons alerting me that while driving home on the freeway, the skip plate had come loose and was dragging. They were rattled by the noise and friction the skip plate had caused as it was being dragged along the road beneath the car. They had to pull over to keep safe and use duct tape to keep the skid plate it from falling down again until they reach nearest gas station. The car was unsafe to drive. The person who did the oil change did not properly reinstall the skid plate and had put my son's life in jeopardy. The next day, I went to Valvoline to let them know how upset this had made me and my family. I asked them to replace the damaged skip plate and if they would be willing to have another Valvoline in Madison to install it for my sons, since he goes to school there. At the time, they said they wouldn't be able to do that, but they they will order a a skip plate for the vehicle if they can bring the car back for it. I told them it wouldn't be until the end of August before my sons return to see us again for a camping trip. They would call us when the skip plate arrives to their location. We never receive the call about the skip plate. In late August, when my son came to see us for our camping trip, we called to inquire about the skip plate. They said they still don't have it. It was nearly a month and they did not do what they said they would. The assistant manager that spoke to us and assisted us during our ordeal was no longer there, the manager was replaced, and a new assistant manager was dealing with us. I've spoken to the new Manger a few time, but again, there wasn't much progress. After much frustration, my wife upset and confronted them about the numerous delays, lies, and inability to have the issue resolved. Finally, when I contacted them for a final time, the new assistant manager adept finally say they will not be resolving it. After a month and two weeks, the truth was finally out. They probably never ordered the skip plate. Let this be a lesson to any who choose to do business with them. Don't let them put your love ones in danger. This is our first and last time with Valvoline and we will continue to share our story with friends and family. read more

I took my truck in for an oil change and fluid replacement in the rear differential. After a few days of driving it, the truck broke down, so I took it to my mechanic. It turns out that Valvoline did not put the appropriate amount of fluid in the rear differential and now I need to replace the entire rear end. I stopped by the location and talked to Dezmond who was very helpful, he printed my invoice and gave me instructions on how to file the claim after saying "it's clear we did it". So, I thought that Valvoline would take responsability....I could not have been more wrong. I filed a claim which of course Valvoline denied without even notifying me, speaking to my mechanic, anyone at the shop, or looking at the inspection results. Nobody reached out to me to update me on the claim, I had to pursue them. The CS rep told me that the claim had been denied several days ago. Still nobody reached out to me with an update. Keep in mind that I am without a vehicle for a week as of today. The area manager Scott Macey and the service manager Adriana Rivera, (who refused to even give me her full name) and hung up on me, are hiding behind the customer service representatives and stonewalling me. Do not give these people your business, they don't know what they are doing and when they damage your vehicle, they will not take responsibility for it. I was -219 Over my oil change schedule. With no time to schedule something all the way over in White Bear at the Honda Dealership anytime soon, I was in a panick about this! I zipped in here while en route to see if they could get me in. Not only did they immediately get my car started with an oil chance but they were about to charge my AC too. So my boyfriend brought his car into Valvoline in coon rapids the other day. They put WAY too much oil in and he ended up having to bring it from there to the Toyota dealership because it was suddenly making a horrible noise under the hood. Valvoline was TOTALLY UNWILLING TO HELP HIM AT ALL FROM THE START. He had to find a ride home from the dealership (a rental car should've been provided for him courtesy of Valvoline.) And when he asked for one, they said they'd only pay a percentage of a rental. Don't remember what that was, but in the end, each week he would have to pay over $200 out of pocket! Just yesterday Toyota called and said they blew his engine. (This is a car that was given to him by his grandma right before she passed btw. There's sentimental value here). Valvoline is still unwilling to help him and keeps saying he has to make a claim 1st. Absolutely ridiculous! They know what they did, and they know what the right thing to do is. Shame on you Valvoline. So if you don't want to risk your engine blowing, and the hassle they'll put you through to make it right, don't go to Valvoline. read more

Pleasant folks but that's where their service ends. After dropping off my car during the lunch hour, they proceeded to change the oil. Great. However, when I picked up the car, the driver's carpet was covered with oily boot prints. Seems the only way to get a clean car is to stay in it while they change the oil. When I called to complain, Al, the manager, said as much. Well if you want clean carpet, stay in the car! We can't prevent oily boots from ruining your carpet sir. (at least he called me sir while telling me they were totally incompetent). read more

I went in for an oil change and usually have great service, none of the employees seemed familiar and based on overheard conversations they seemed to be short a person, I had a headlight that was also out but was told that it could not be fixed, that there was a "wire" missing. My visit was not as expected nor as previously experienced, the person assigned to do my headlight did not seem knowledgeable and in fact there is not a wire missing and it is simply a bulb that needs to be replaced, not sure whether I would go back to this particular site. read more

I agree that they are friendly. But when you're paying 95.00 dollars for a full-service oil change,you expect the chassis to be lubed also.that was not the case. In the 9 months and 11,000 miles I had acquired in my service van going for my 3rd oil change i asked about lubing the 9 grease fittings, turns out their out of grease and have been out of grease for some time, so turns out no cars have been getting lubed at that store.the responsibility is with the store manager. If I could give this location zero stars, I would have. I had my oil changed in Feb. of 2022 at Valvoline 3530 Northdale Blvd. Coon Rapids, MN. In May of 2022 my car stalled. The Mobil station mechanics wondered if I needed my oil changed because no sticker had been put in my car and the change oil light had not been reset. When they checked my oil, they found that the oil filter had been put in upside down and this broke a part below it. Also, they felt that what caused the stall was the result of the oil filter being put in upside down. I went to talk with the managers on duty (Dawson and Krystal) and they gave me no help, only referring me to customer care.
