    Charred asparagus and gem lettuce.

We really enjoyed both our food and the atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We started with the Moroccan sourdough bread and the charred asparagus and gem lettuce. This salad might have been the best salad I've ever eaten! The slight char on the asparagus was perfectly balanced with the brightness and acidity of the dressing. I highly recommended starting with this. The Hubs loved his lamb kofta. Something so simple as the grilled tomato on the plate was amazing. Being vegetarian the only dinner option I had was the butternut squash and pine nuts kibbeh. It was very tasty, but I would have liked more veg dinner options. The crispy potatoes were perfectly crispy and delicious. We ordered way too much food and unfortunately didn't leave room for their famous feta cheese cake. We might need to come back just for that!

This was the first restaurant that caught my eye off a cursory search in a 3km/1.8mi radius of Grovesnor Square. Sure there are tons of names around, loads of restaurants that will charge you more but you won't eat or be treated better than Honey & Smoke. We were a little late for our reservation because I pushed the five year-old too hard today, and she was disappointed her second attempt to sit on a lion at the base of Nelson's Column was thwarted. We were sat in a cozy spot looking into the kitchen. The staff was wonderful and quickly came for cocktails, starters and mains, checking on allergies, giving us recommendations on spice and working together in a glorious symphony. We had hummus, asparagus with gem lettuce, lamb kefta and pork gyro. I couldn't catch the hummus or the gyro before they were attacked but I was able to grab the other two. Do yourself a favor, take a small trip to have food equal to what you're eating for double the price and have an experience with people who enjoy food and drink, just like you.

As soon as you walk in, you can smell the food from the grill- it's overpowering in the best way! Tables are all very spaced out and you can truly dine in a socially distant way unlike at most restaurants. Cocktails were all very well done- (I recommend the smokarita and apple & terragon G&T). As for the food, I'd say it was quite good overall but I was underwhelmed by the hummus, falafel, squid, and lamb shawarma. The dishes weren't bad by any means, but just felt a bit short of expectations. On the other hand, the aubergine badargani and grilled figs with goat cheese were excellent starters and for mains, I really enjoyed the charred octopus and chicken fatayer. Crispy potatoes are also a must! Dessert was fine- neither here nor there for me but I always need something sweet to end a meal :)

It's a little unassuming family run restaurant but with serious intent from the kitchen. I was offered a table in the main dining room or the garden when I walked in - as we are in the middle of 'Wimbledon week showers', I chose to dine indoors. The menu was written in impressively authentic sounding terms but closer inspection revealed some fusion going on - lemongrass, tumeric and enoki mushrooms being amongst the ingredients on show. I'm up for a bit of fusion as long as it doesn't end in con-fusion! Having confirmed that I was hungry, the helpful waiter suggested getting 3 dishes. I couldn't help myself and went for the fusion sounding dishes. Panceta con cidra was pork belly, rolled and marinated with garlic, black pepper and dill, braised in Asturian cider. I zoom in pork belly whenever I see it and this version has been slowly cooked to melting tenderness with the dill coming through strongly - it didn't need the wedge of lemon which came with it and I enjoyed it as it arrived. Pollo a la plancha del Parador were a pair of chicken thighs marinated in lemon grass, turmeric, garlic & coriander and cooked on the plancha (grill). I prefer dark meat as it remains moist and the oriental kick wasn't too overwhelming. When the waiter said the Higadillos Salteados (chicken livers with Iberico Jamon, enoki mushrooms, shallots, black pepper and butter) would be served pink inside, I smiled - nice to see a restaurant willing to serve food as it should be cooked and not pander to squeamish guests. These were a delight and to get some Iberico ham from acorn-fed pigs was a bonus. This is tapas of the highest order, given a little twist. A little Yelp gem which deserves its high star rating.

Situated on quite a quiet street, it is well worth taking a visit. With a choice of over 40 tapas, all very well priced and utterly delicious. Your choice of dish will flirt wildly with all senses and deliver all promises. I am always very happy to find a restaurant which has a diverse yet experienced selection of fish. El Parador specialises in scallops, Halibut, and crab... although they were many others still left to be tried. The interior Decor, to me seemed rather french with little white table clothes and a smart yet gentle ambience. The wine list was impressive to say the least, with over 30 bottles of wine, in the price range of £13-30, with over 15 available by glass. The lunchtime menu has a special offer of 3 tapas for the price of two.

But it was surprisingly good although it's not the cheapest restaurant out there. The steak is flavorful and cooked to our liking. Along with the chips, it's a very satisfying meal. Pork belly is very fatty but the skin is crunchy and it's very lovely. I didn't want the sweet potato mash that comes with it and they were happy to supplement it with a side from another dish. We got put at the table upstairs and the lighting is a bit weird but the restaurant has a cozy ambiance.
