5 stars for the quality of milk, tea, boba, and egg waffles!! They use organic milk instead of milk powder which my milk-snob friend informed me makes all the difference. I highly enjoyed my ube taro latte today which my toddler chose because of the vibrant purple marbled white colors. Apparently 3pm on a Sunday can be their rush hour because there was a line almost out the door and they ran out of regular boba, but still had brown sugar boba. I felt like the ube taro latte was not too sweet; I wish it had a tad more ube or taro flavor. Boba was perfectly chewy and cooked just right. I appreciate the kids menu but wish they could make any drink kid-size. My other kid loved her mango smoothie with boba added in. It was thick and substantial like a mango lassi. It seemed a bit steep to pay $8.50 for the ube taro latte (specialty drink) but all bubble tea places seem to be charging that much except Pan-Asia's bubble tea store which seems to have slightly lower prices. I loved that they also sell Hong Kong egg waffles which comes with a free topping. The creme brulee pudding was creamy and delicious but I might opt for condensed milk or syrup next time. I was very excited to try this place after reading the rave reviews. I was also happy that I didn't have to drive far to university city for good milk tea. I tried to order the Okinawa milk tea at 50 % sweet and the lady said I couldn't adjust the sweetness. Then she told me to try a sample first. It was way too sweet and tasted very artificial. I was also shocked to see that it cost $8.25- that's more than boba tea in OC. I told her it was too sweet and she said the only drinks I can adjust the sweetness level were jasmine and one other one. I ordered the jasmine milk tea half sweet. The tea was strong in jasmine flavor, which I liked, but it had too much cream and boba was swollen soft. They also serve waffles and it smelled very good. Hands down, this is my favorite boba place in St. Louis. I've been here twice in 7 days, despite it being half an hour from my house (each way)! I've had the classic, the Okinawa, the oolong, and the house special milk tea. So far, I haven't been disappointed with the flavor of the tea or the consistency of the boba (I'm pretty picky with my boba consistency haha) here. If you want sweeter boba, it seems like the brown sugar boba is the way to go (the regular / honey is the other option). The tea flavors are very strong in a good way. You can really taste the aromas of the tea in the drink! Also, the Hong Kong waffle is delicious! I got mine with condensed milk on top. The only two downsides are 1) the location being so far from the city and 2) the high price (almost $10 if you get a signature drink) but this is definitely my splurge happy place.
