Why does this place not have 5 solid stars?! I'm in love with Monky Bowl and have gone 2x in the past few days. They have so many fresh and delicious options for drinks, smoothies, juices, açaí bowls, other types of fruit based bowls, waffles, and crepes. Their sizes are generous and their pricing is very reasonable for the quality, quantity, taste, and overall nutrition. We've tried the pistachio drink, brown sugar milk tea with boba, the dnutty açaí bowl, the cutella açaí bowl, rio green bowl (it was actually blue), and the hulk green bowl. Everything we've tried has been delicious! The brown sugar milk tea has been my least favorite, but was still good and the boba was very soft and nicely chewy. All the bowls we've tried have been 10/10. It takes a bit for the staff to make your order, but of course! All the ingredients are fresh and everything's made to order - it's incredible. No complaints from me. I'd recommend Monky Bowl to anyone looking for quality food in Salinas for breakfast, lunch, or even dinner honestly - it's never too late to get your fruits and veggies in for the day. read more

Tried this today for the first time. Definitely not bad. I got the Pineapple smoothie w boba, and it was good, not overly sweet. The bobs was nice and warm too. My son got the Passionfruit bubble tea, but it was very sour and not that tasty. My other son got the Strawberry boba tea, but they made him the strawberry milk tea instead, which wasn't bad. Came here tonight and got their dragon bowl - fire bowl. They were out of strawberries and kiwi, and we replaced it with mangoes. I believe I heard them tell another customer that it would be an additional charge for other fruits like blueberry since it didn't come with the bowl. I'm done going to Monkey Bowl. I've been going to both Monkey Bowls since they opened but they usually take a long time to make the orders so I try to call in my orders to save time. However, calling in your orders is super hit and miss (mostly miss). There's been at least 5 times now that I've called in an order and they hadn't even started it when I went to pick it up. I didn't even get to eat my lunch today and almost had to ask for my money back because I spent the whole time waiting for my order. Looks like my friends , my wife, and I will be switching to BKM. Goodness me these bowls are good. My favorite so far is Hulk green bowl. I've seen a high volume of fruits and veggies go out while waiting for my bowl so I imagine they must have an ongoing fresh supply coming in. The strawberries and bananas (the surest sign of freshness) are always of the highest quality and sweetness that I have had. I've also enjoyed several juice blend drinks here. The flavor and brightness of their juices give quite a memorable experience. They also have quite a variety of milk tea and bobas. Monkey Bowl can often be quite busy, so have patience and kindness for this hard working crew of nourishment providers. It is my experience that the goodness from here is worth the wait. Sunday morning brunch after my pampering appointment called for something fresh and fun. Told the hubby to check out Yelp and pick something good. We decided on the Dnutty and boy o boy we were so happy! I ordered a large bowl and medium size bowl with a side of extra granola. I called when I was leaving my appointment about 4 blocks away and when I arrived they were just finishing up the delightful fruit creation on top and I was out the door. If I could give them zero stars I would! We got FRESH juice from this location left the location and then finished the drink and noticed a the finger tip of a latex glove is in the bottom of the cup. We drive back to the location and notice that the lady who made our drinks has the finger of her gloving missing! And is still making drinks and making bowls with the same gloves on. I asked for an açaí bowl without dairy... it lists itself as a vegan restaurant... the young girl in front was confused. I ordered the DNutty bowl without Nutella or granola or almond butter since no one knew what "had dairy" ... best part of eliminating half the bowl? They wanted to charge me extra for walnuts... The smoothies also have milk, even though it isn't listed as an ingredient, and you need to request almond milk The bowl wasn't bad, everything was fresh, the Date Me smoothie wasn't anything special. Watch out for the little pump behind the counter, my assumption is they put simple syrup (sugar) in everything. I found this place on Yelp when I was searching healthy food in the area. After a long work out I was craving something healthy like a protein-based açaí bowl or a protein shake. It is located within a plaza and there's a ton of parking. When I first walked in, the place was empty. I was approached by a man who seemed to either be the owner or manager. You can create your own bowl and that's what I decided to do. I crafted my bowl and when it came tine to pay he rung me out for $18! I asked how a $10 bowl became $18 assuming it was a mistake. He told me it was all the add-ons. Excuse me? It was advertised as "create your own bowl." I told him that and he apologized and adjusted the charge...ugh. As we'd had a late lunch, we ordered a random assortment of items to share for a late, light dinner: elote (although I was eyeing the Corn Bowl topped with Cheetos); a Dragonfruit smoothie I didn't particularly care for; & a Frutas Bowl with sweet watermelon, not-quite-ripe enough mango, & strawberries topped with Monkey Chamoy (aka heaven in my mouth.)
