Passing through and saw the Rib Country sign and did a U-turn to get back here. We love the…read morecountry feel, the smell of good cooking and the patriotism for our great country (250 years!). We were just past the lunch crowd at 1:11 arrival on a Thursday, but there was still a decent crowd in the restaurant. Booths are big, room for eight regular sized folk. We were only two. Collard greens were on the menu today as was potato skin fingers and Brunswick stew. I chose the brisket plate, wet, with collards and baked beans. My wife got the same with collards and potato skins. Each of those was a premium side for an extra $2.50, but well worth it. Every single thing we ate was a 10 out of 10. We loved the collards,, tender, served with hot pepper vinegar, as the Good Lord intended and not sweet, like the heretics that put brown sugar in their collards. The brisket was Smokey and tender and perfectly seasoned, add a bit of hot bbq sauce. Baked beans were sweet, as they should be, and had some meat chunks in there, again, as they ought. A slice of Texas Toast accompanied. We were initially overlooked as our server, Robin, didn't know that we had been seated. She was apologetic about our three minute wait - which tells you, Robin is a great server! I mean, it was only three minutes, but she took our drink order and our food order at the same time, immediately served drinks and 15 minutes later served our food. The space will fit a lot of folks. This was an excellent lunch choice, good for crowds, good for single diners too. It was so good, we figured it's only 87 miles from our home in Greenville, SC and could be an occasional day trip destination for lunch. Or, we need to convince the family to open up a Greenville location. There's an idea. Don't hesitate to dine here, and consider bringing a cooler for some "to go" orders for later. You won't regret it.

What the heck!!!! They are located INSIDE Walmart and 100 feet away from the produce section! Supposedly they have to get corporate approval to go get the items needed! SERIOUSLY!?? This is about the Subway restaurant inside Wal-Mart in Murphy, NC…read more I cannot recommend going out of your way to eat at this Subway. This Subway is convenient to shoppers, but it can be noisy, not well cleaned, serve small proportions and be a little overpriced probably to pay overhead rent (a $5.50 sub at Andrews Subway or Murphy gas station Subway is priced $5.79 here.) On this visit I encountered inexperienced, overworked and rude persons. I ordered the common foot long meatball sub and some water. The server, now designated "Sandwich Artist", put seven meatballs (not eight) on the bun topped with three (not four) slices of provolone. This Subway is not only overcharging but cutting corners. But I wouldn't complain here about being cheated out of one meatball and one slice of cheese. I'm insulted by what happened next. At checkout instead of $6 my total was $8! I asked this Sandwich CON-Artist why. Her reply was that they were out of water cups and had to charge $2 for a paper cup. (I'm guessing they fear I might pour a soft drink instead of water?) I refused. I was told the manager would be back soon and would bring me a water cup. My sub was half eaten by the time the manager put an 8 oz. foam water cup on the table without comment or apology. I briefly told her my tale ending with maybe she should fix this. Her reply was that she was the Franchise Owner but made no offer to fix anything. Are the sandwich CON-Artists following her directions? If she doesn't care, then I don't care. What I do care about is warning as many people as I can that this SubPAR Subway might become an insulting and price gouging experience for them. Be very alert at checkout and senior shoppers BEWARE!
