07/11/25 - Came by here to participate in the #toogoodtogo program (go ahead and check it out!). This place is your typical mom and pop donut shop. They offer drinks and sandwiches too. I came here around 5:30pm, and I was given a full box of donuts. The lady also threw in. a couple extras, which was so very nice of her. Donuts were great! Highly recommend.

This is my go to donut place. I pretty much can't pass here without picking up a dozen donuts. They know me pretty well here, and they're always friendly, they always have lots and lots and lots of donuts. You should be able to find something you like if you can't, then you don't like donuts

Super fresh and soft donuts. Good variety too. I went at 4pm on a Tuesday and there were plenty of options with multiples of each. They also have croissant varieties like jalapeño, ham & cheese, and more. Parking is easy and plentiful. The lady helping me was sweet, friendly, and quick! The blueberry cake donut that was so soft and fluffy, but also everything I got was great and tasted fresh.

Best donuts ever. These donuts are always fresh. The family working here is beyond lovely. The kindest and best people. There is cute art on the walls here. I wanted to get donuts because it's National Donuts day and I wanted to support local business. But I wasn't sure where to go because last time I went to my usual place they weren't so good. Honey donuts did not disappoint. The donuts were moist and d'lish, not greasy at all. The service was great and they were very friendly. I will return.

Honey Donuts is the spot to go to. I come here for lunch, or just at random times, they have delicious subs, ice cream, doughnuts, and recently I've been coming for the Acai bowls, which are awesome, and how could I forget the great customer service I receive from all of the employees, especially from Tania, who always takes good care of me. I really wanted to like these. We just happened to drive by this place. Looks like a hole in the wall donut shop, most times those are the best places! We went in...there's no labels on any of the donuts so we had no clue what anything was. We picked 6 donuts: apple fritter was ok. It was very crispy which I love but my husband likes it more fluffy with a Crispy outside. It had very little flavor and was over cooked. The bear claw was filled with cinnamon (not mixed with anything, just a big layer of cinnamon) and canned apple pie mix. This was gross. The chocolate cake donut with chocolate frosting was super dry and lacked any chocolate flavor. Chocolate on chocolate is my favorite. This was super Disappointing. The sugar donut was so dry. The maple glazed was ok again lack of flavor but wasn't as dry as the others. The buttermilk old fashioned donut was by far the favorite. It was moist and good but not great. We love supporting small businesses and wanted to love it but it was a two thumbs down for the whole family. And my kids love donuts. read more

Honey Donuts is pretty awesome. I'm still a fan of Marys Donuts down by the 125 and Mission Gorge. Honey Donuts is close to my house and does well when I need a donut fix. They seem to have a good selection. The donut holes are actually really good. read more

Not many places around where you can get a Super good sub at 3am. But here you can. I work at the Drive In Theatre down the street so it's always nice to have a good fresh meal late at night instead of the fast food alternatives. Been coming for years just for the subs. The doughnuts are pretty good as well. They even started serving Thrifty ice cream! And the guy who works it at night (Jon) is always super nice and helpful. Defiantly worth checking out. read more

I decided to stop here because I remember the sandwich I bought was amazing. I've been craving pastrami sandwiches for the longest time. The place needs a little fixer upper but it's what you expect from a donut shop/lottery/thrift ice cream place. Lol I was immediately greeted. I have nothing bad to say about the service. It was nice to see a nice face in the morning. I gave this place a three stars based only on the food. I ordered a pastrami roll. Apparently the meat is cut fresh which is a plus. It was $4.95 so the price was average but the sandwich wasn't great. It was okay. I remember the sandwich being so much better the first time. The first time I arrived the lady asked if I wanted it hot. This time it wasn't, probably a mistake on my part. Then again it is only my second time. Anyways, 3 stars because this time, the sandwich was average. Not amazing, not great. Maybe I'll give it another try, maybe not. read more

Horrible and unprofessional service. I asked whether the current batch was a new batch since I just bought a dozen that was stale. The Asian guy kept avoiding my question and basically said "go find another donut shop" and we sure did that night Rose donuts was delicious and much more variety. Most amazing sandwiches..and open 24 hrs a day. The sandwiches are made with very fresh ingredients and the bread is warm! Wonderful delicius, the bread is fresh and tasty! Soooo much better than subway! And inexpensive! A wonderful place for a sandwich. Only one dollar more for a drink and chips!!! That's a bargain~ You can get a nice 9" sandwich a drink and chips all for under 5 bucks! The dounuts are ok also, but I just love going for the sandwiches! read more

Worst service ever recieved in the food industry. The Asian guy seems like the owner, he has no customer service skills, hardly speaks english. The deli restaurant is very clean, and there's so many different delicious items to choose from and they even have smoothies, iced coffees, and will be open and serving breakfast at 7am very soon! They use delicious meats and cheeses from Boar's Head yum and their breads, and rolls are so fresh and soft. We will continue to keep coming back!

Inside the deli was clean and well kept which is what we want when going to a sandwich shop. The staff however, not the most polite you'll meet. We purchased some sandwich combos and picked them up. Once there we asked if they could add some more bags of chips at checkout. The lady at the register said in a stern voice "ive already put your chips in the bag" We held up a couple more bags and told her we wanted to ADD chips. No apologies for her Attitude. The sandwiches though...dry and bland. Meat didnt taste fresh and as though they left it out and it dried out a bit. Bread was of cheap quality. The overall taste of the sandwiches left me wanting more. First and last experience with Deli Belly.

There was always a constant battle at my work, me living in North County was a Peterson's Donut…read moreCorner guy, and my colleagues from east county were all Mary's or bust peeps. Sadly, Peterson's sold and now are just a mere shell of what they were, making the hunt for a good donut a thing. My wife's colleagues brought in donuts from Mary's, and when she got home and said something about it, I had instant recall of the donut debate from my work. We pulled a late-night donut adventure, and ok East County peeps, you were right, you were right, I said it twice. (I'll still vouch for the old Petersons, but I digress). The staff was friendly here, and quick to point out their favorites, and what they are known for. Having these donuts, right there, just made them that much better than taking them to go.... which we did as well. This is a far hike from Escondido, to Santee, but a drive well worth it. There is a lot of parking in this strip mall/shopping center. The inside is bright and had plenty of seating and counterspace to sit and stuff your face. I will be back Mary's, I'll be back.

The restaurant still feels nostalgic and old school with its decor. I only bought a maple ring and a jelly filled. The good: service was quick. As for the donuts themselves, the dough was very pillow-y on both, and had a nice bite. The ehh: the maple frosting on the donut was very underwhelming, and my jelly filled only had jelly in one quarter of the donut. The donuts left a weird oily or sugary aftertaste lingering in my mouth which I was super grossed out by.

It was sweet but not sugary. I was happily surprised. Usually they are just green sugar at other places I go to but this place was a light sweet without it rushing my blood sugar. We got the Iced 24 or 20 oz, I believe. I asked for the biggest they had. The chocolate tasted very light (reminiscent of a milk chocolate) and thin. I was able to taste the orange notes. The espresso was definitely lost in the drink. I wish the balance had been better, I do like the price of this drink though-- I thought it was quite fair! The girls working were kind and soft spoken. They got the drinks out in a timely manner as well. I'll come back, maybe to try a different flavor since there's multiple on the menu!

Open on Memorial Day until 2 pm!…read more We came here on Memorial Day to pleasantly find this place was open. The coffee sells itself here. They have açaí bowls and lemonade here now. I like this place because it's off the busy streets near this industrial part of town. The coffee grinds could not be any fresher, the roasting is done behind the counter. Almost a long-time customer here!…read more So I actually stumbled upon this place by accident some years ago, but it turned out to be a VERY HAPPY accident. This small and inconspicuous warehouse factory makes the best baklava I've ever had -- so much so that it ruined other baklavas for me. I can tell that so much love, thought, and care goes into making them; the delicate layers of each piece are fresh, perfectly balanced, and not cloyingly sweet. The owners here are so sweet and they always provide a free piece with my order. They sell their baklavas in boxes only, but you get to choose from 3 different sizes. You also get to choose from different flavors (pistachio, walnut, chocolate walnut, cinnamon walnut, almond-pecan, hazelnut) and sizes (they have triangular pieces and rolled pieces), but honestly I would recommend getting all of the flavors because they are all fantastic! Overall -- for immaculate baklava in San Diego, look no further than Baklava King! Their boxes make great gifts, too.

I ordered from the TooGoodToGo app for $5.99, expecting a simple surprise bag of donuts, but what I got was way more than I anticipated! I believe one of the owners prepared my order, and he was incredibly generous with the selection. He even asked if I had a craving for a specific donut and let me pick one from the display as a courtesy choice, which really stood out. It's clear he values TooGoodToGo customers just as much as regular walk-ins, which isn't always the case at other businesses. What impressed me even more was that he selected the donuts fresh from the display, rather than just handing over a pre-packed bag from the previous shift's leftovers. Before I left, he even asked if I needed napkins, such a small detail for some, but it really showed his attentiveness and care for customers. The value was easily three times over, and I ended up with way more than I could eat. The shop itself is quaint and easy to miss while driving, but once inside, it feels incredibly welcoming. The positive energy from the owner makes a difference, you can tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. I don't find myself in Santee often, but I happened to be running errands nearby and saw they had boxes available, so I figured I'd give them a shot. What a tremendous place for amazing donuts, acai, and sandwiches. Everything is excellent! Tasia truly made our visit one to remember. There were many customers in the store and although she seemed as though she was doing a plethora of other things, she was pleasant, has such a huge smile, and got our order perfect. Good donuts, good croissant, just kind of confusing. The menu isn't WRONG, but I failed to see in the small description that mayo, pickles, jalepenos, onions, mustard, lettuce etc come on the Ham&Cheese croissant. Weird having that first thing in the morning, I do not recommend eating a donut when your mouth still has the onion/mustard taste in it. They have a breakfast sandwich at the very bottom for $8.95, it was my fault for not scrolling my eyes to the bottom. Still though, the prices seem high. read more

These donuts were absolutely nasty. I spit the chocolate one out, which I've never done in my entire life. The chocolate tastes like some thing that should be sold at a gardening center. Like tar. I stopped at Honey's Donuts and couldn't have been happier with the experience. The customer service was friendly and welcoming, and the food more than lived up to it.
