Ok, I don't know anything about coffee. Only thing I know about coffee is, espresso martinis are delicious, lol. I was in the area and I've never had a cute coffee with the latte art (so many of my friends are going to roast me for this) When I pulled up -nice private parking -a staff member was outside painting on the windows with the cutest window art. The girl had talent! This place has also given back. They helped with the LA fires last year. So bonus points for places who give back. (They gave back to the Pasadena humane society) There was a pretty big line and it was pretty loud in here, but it went by very fast. So we sat for a minute after our drinks came out and then decided to take it to go -they have latte art that changes every month. So I like they have some rotating options. It was my turn and I ordered two sugar free mocha iced coffees. One with regular foam, And mine had strawberry foam. When I told Matthew at the counter it was really important the one drink be as sugar free as possible due to my friend being diabetic, he warned us there was sugar in the foam, but he would go as light as possible. So I appreciate him warning us and taking it serious. I picked the new hello kitty art of the month (hello kitty in a bathing suit with waves and dolphins) And my friend picked from the new monthly latte art as well, and got the Kirby character Even though it was busy, it took probably 2 minutes for our drinks to be made Matthew was absolutely great. His energy, he had a smile on his face, was knowledgeable about the menu, Matthew was everything you'd want in a staff member. Just like any coffee place, you pay and give them a name for your order, and then they call your name and you pick up your coffee at the counter. These drinks hit the spot!!! It was very trendy. I loved the Spanish latte since the coffee was bold and well-rounded without being overly sweet. I added the cloud foam on top which added extra creaminess and sweetness. The foam with the custom latte art cost an extra $2 but I think it was worth it, at least for my first time. To be honest, Honey Greens seemed like a gimmicky place since I thought the foam art was all that it was known for, but no, their drink quality was actually good! I got the agave matcha latte for myself, and I enjoyed how rich it tasted and how vibrant it was in color. I also added a cold foam which made it too sweet for me. Next time, I plan on ordering an unsweetened matcha latte and add cold foam as the sweetener. I also tried a sip of the lavender matcha and that was the one thing I didn't like because the lavender overpowered the matcha. The cold foam was THICK thick - I had to stir it a bit so the coffee could breathe - but once mixed? Chef's kiss. Sweet, cozy, and worth the sugar rush. My boyfriend got the sugar cookie iced latte, and his review was: "magically delicious." He doesn't even like sugar cookies, so that says a lot. Also, apparently it's caffeinated enough to wake the dead. The interior is really cute, but because it was so packed, it was loud loud. Like everyone yapping at once. Not really a "sip quietly and journal" moment. Didn't interact much with staff besides ordering, but honestly... with how busy it was, that's fair. The cold foam with the holiday designs were what drew me in. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. It's a very small shop so prepare to feel a little cramped on a busy day. It was nicely decorated, for the Christmas season. The menu was a little overwhelming, but it had a decent variety to choose from. I got the Spanish latte with vanilla cold foam with coconut milk first. It was a pretty drink but the taste was not it. The coconut milk was not sweetened and it tasted more savory. On top of that, there was 2 fibers of lint that appeared like strands of hair in my drink. I returned it and they remade it with regular milk, but it still wasn't that great. I had saved this cafe earlier this year. I was heading home a few days ago when I remembered this spot was along the way, and decided to stop and try it. The art in the front is super cute. The interior is small, with only a few seats available. Service was great, helpful with answering questions about certain items. I went with the whiskey vanilla latte with strawberry cloud foam. I've been a loyal customer of this place for a while now, and I must say, it's a great spot. However, I recently noticed a change that has piqued my curiosity. They've reduced the size of their cups while keeping the prices the same. I'm writing wondering if this is a deliberate downsizing or if they simply ran out of a particular cup size. My only critique is it seems like they've used less milk, which has made the matcha taste a bit more bitter and grainy. I've also noticed that I've been receiving the same taller cup size even without the strawberry foam topping, which I've requested twice in the past. I usually prefer the top. Given that experience, I don't believe the smaller cup is due to not getting the topping. You can even see (despite lighting differences) the matcha is lighter previously. Overall, I'm concerned about the ratio of the matcha to milk and the portion size. I would appreciate it if the owners could clarify whether this is a temporary change or if it's a permanent adjustment. Given that, this is still a wonderful spot and the staff are good on warmly approaches. It must be tiring as it's always busy, but they do their best to keep the energies high. Edit: It has been noted they have downgraded their matcha. I haven't been back since, and since the owners haven't stated anything I am less inclined to. That last cup I had genuinely has kept me away from going back. I've been to Honey Greens Café twice already and will continue to come back. My favorite so far has been the Honey Vanilla Cinnamon latte hands down! My experiences has been be prepared to wait, but worth the wait. There are a few indoor tables and chairs inside but can get crowded very quickly with the line growing. They're quick to take your order but there's a couple of workers and they are trying to get orders out quick but it's a small location and they're doing their best. Like I said, worth the wait! I want to try the avocado toast which I heard is popular. The drinks are made well. It was too much on the sweet side but honestly, the sweetness was on me since I added the cloud foam, but the drink itself was about a 6/10. My order was ready when I arrived, and the girl who greeted me was genuinely sweet and welcoming. On my way out, their pastry display caught my eye and I went back to grab a Matcha Pistachio Croissant ($7.50). A different person took my order and she seemed a little bothered when I came back to order, which was a bit off-putting. The croissant itself was disappointing -- it didn't taste fresh, and this was only about 30 minutes after opening. For $7.50, I expected a lot more, especially compared to other spots serving matcha pistachio croissants that are both tastier and more affordable. The shop was nice and clean and it has plenty of seating. That said, their matcha is still easily in my top 3 -- that part never disappoints. I thought this place might be gimmicky but I was sorely mistaken, because they know their stuff. I love that they use ceremonial grade matcha, quality you can taste.
