They give you a free drink on your birthday and on top of this, watch out for their app specials and promos!you may get Bo-Gos or even free drinks! The staff here is always so warm and welcoming . happened to stop by the Downey location with my wife while we were in the area. One thing that made us really uncomfortable was that one of the workers in the front was clearly sick. To be fair, the girl was changing her gloves often and coughing appropriately, so this is not meant to attack her personally. The issue is more with management allowing someone who is visibly sick to be handling drinks and touching products customers consume. My wife noticed she sounded sick the moment she took our order, and we also noticed employees in the back looking around and opening fridge areas while she continued working the front. It just did not feel sanitary or comfortable as customers. I understand places can be short staffed, but if an employee is sick, maybe they should not be placed upfront handling drinks and customer items directly. Hopefully management takes health and cleanliness more seriously moving forward. read more

Stopped by Movita Juice Bar mid-run and honestly--shoutout to Astrid and Laura for absolutely making my day. Their energy is unmatched--super friendly, fast, and genuinely kind. You can tell they actually care about what they're doing. I grabbed the Peanut Butter Banana smoothie, and wow... SO good. Perfectly blended, not too sweet, super creamy, and exactly what I needed to power through the rest of my run. I had no choice. I just found out honey greens no longer have smoothies on their menu. I ordered a papaya almond smoothie, no agave with plant protein. It tastes horrible, they didn't blend it correctly, so I have to swish it in my mouth and mix it in my mouth. I've ordered this before and it has tasted a bit better. I don't know why I went back. Need to find a new smoothie place. If I had time I would have gone back. I'm so disappointed I don't think I'll be able to finish this. And it has a bad aftertaste. What a waste. read more

I had ordered online and got there a little later than my pick up time. There were 3 women working, one at the register and two making the orders. I went straight to the pick up area, front and center, hard to miss me, and NONE OF THE WORKERS acknowledged me. They kept going to the pick up area to give customers their orders and I was invisible. I waited almost 10 minutes until someone asked me if I needed anything, to which I replied picking up an order and it took them less than 30 SECONDS to get my bowl and give it to me. I get it was busy but if you have orders ready, why not help to get those people out the store where it's already starting to be overcrowded instead of ignoring 2-3 customers waiting to pick up. Smh. Customer service at this location has been one that needs a reboot. Time and time I have gone to get my online order. And the order is not ready. And instead of acknowledging the error, the staff avoids eye contact and just makes the drink and walks away. Simple skill of customer service: accept the error, acknowledge it, and make it right. It's been too many times it has happened at this location to me. Would think it's not just me it happens to. An online order is meant to help with those that are running to a meeting or a time stamped job, and not having order ready causes disruption. The least a customer can experience is better service after the mishap. I know this is a busy location, but owner show look at how to address this volume and keep the service up to par. You are training future owners or future workers and not teaching them skills of customer service is such a horrible start to their careers! read more

I'm a Downey resident and have been going to Movita since it open. My son picked up an açaí bowl and to my surprise it was watery. I called and spoke to the "manager" and asked if I can get it replaced that I would take it back to get a new one. Sadly, her answer was no. Movita you just lost some loyal customer. My family and friends will no longer give you our business. We have noticed the customer service has clearly changed; rude and the typical un polite attitude. I went to Movita during my lunch break, I have always loved Movita and enjoy going to the one in the promenade but decided to try this one out. I ordered the Nutella Banana as per usual and I was bummed out when I found coconut flakes in my bowl. Then, I took a bite and there was a hair in my bowl!! It was teenagers working and you could tell they didn't really care what they were doing. I find it disgusting that there was a hair in my bowl when I paid 11 bucks for it. So this is awkward - have had a love/hate relationship with this place however today was on another level. My criticism as always been I've paid for extra toppings and for lack of a better word those requests were not honored. I've tipped nearly every time yet sometimes they do it sometimes they don't. Lately they haven't so on my most resent order I asked them to please honor the request. I get there today and the employee flags me that they spoke to corporate to show me what regular and extra is - LMAO wow... okay. Just going to say it was uncomfortable and awkward but I'm used to these kinds of interactions daily at work so nothing out of the ordinary. Thought it was funny but really unnecessary - also going to say this - I've been contacted by representatives after my reviews who promised to fix things even offering credits and nothing has every happened, they never honored their word. Imagine a business feuding with a paying customer because they aren't honoring "extra" toppings when the customer pays for them. What a joke. Edit - it's not the costs of times or add ons that's the issue it's literally you tired to fat/body shame me when I picked up my order LMAO, seriously don't offer options to add-on extras to your items if you're going to not honor that or make suggestive comments to your customers when they aren't satisfied they didn't get what they paid for. read more

After spending all morning therapy-FaceTiming a friend (8/15/20), I was feeling lazy for lunch, but wanted something simple and healthy. First time at Movita Juice Bar. I believe Downey has two locations. Haha. Ordering via Postmates was a breeze. I chose a "Greenex Juice" with a chia shot ($7.78). It was alright. I'd probably order it again just for the sake of it not being terribly disgusting and most likely very healthy. Next, I gravitated towards the "turkey on wheat sandwich 11oz." ($5.99). No freakin' way was my damn drink more than the sandwich. But yeah... The staff was - although super busy - really nice and quick to help me retrieve my order once I got there. I like this location since it's right next to a slew of other eateries and small businesses that need help during COVID-19. Free parking. Just watch out for all the zombies going in and out of the nearby Ralph's. read more

CORRECTION: This review was intended for the Apollo Way location, not the Lakewood Blvd location. Some of the smoothies are so yummy, and I often get the acai bowls, but with those it's kinda hit or miss. Sometimes the fruit is gorgeous and you can see all of the ingredients exactly how it looks on the menu and then sometimes you get foolishness like what I got today. I basically got soup. She's always welcoming, personable, and makes the whole experience feel friendly and easy. The place is very clean, and they always have protein chips and other little goodies on the side if you want to justify adding "just one more thing" to your order. There's also a good amount of parking right up front, so whether you're walking over like me or driving in, it's convenient either way. When I told Matthew at the counter it was really important the one drink be as sugar free as possible due to my friend being diabetic, he warned us there was sugar in the foam, but he would go as light as possible. There's tables and chairs in their outdoor seating area. It took about 10 minutes and the most filled and pretty sandwich came out! The sandwich was sizable. The barista yelled out for us from inside as we were outside to come get our coffees. From our experience, staff wasn't rude but weren't extremely friendly either. It was very busy so I'm assuming they were a bit overwhelmed. Overall, glad we gave this place a try. We came in at 2 on a Tuesday and they had just finished making a fresh batch (they are made every 30 minutes), so we lucked out on that and got to try these at their peak! Really wonderful.
