I stopped in because I wanted a Vietnamese sandwich for lunch and saw that Happy Bagels and Donuts may have them. The very nice man behind the counter informed me that Vietnamese sandwiches are no longer on the menu. There were many other sandwiches available on the menu with pictures of each one. I decided to go with the ham, turkey, bacon and added avocado. It also comes with veggies and sauces that you can modify. I customized my sandwich and waited outside. There's tables and chairs in their outdoor seating area. It took about 10 minutes and the most filled and pretty sandwich came out! The sandwich was sizable. I shared half with a friend and enjoyed half for lunch. It was sooo delicious. The veggies, sauces, meats were so well balanced. The bread!!! The bread was so toasty and tasty. I will definitely be back and would recommend this sandwich and shop to anyone who is looking for a quick lunch with high quality ingredients and very nice staff! read more

I don't know what happened this morning, but I somehow woke up early, got my entire Sabbath checklist done, and even managed to arrive at church 30 minutes early. The one thing I didn't accomplish was eating breakfast at home. For someone who keeps the Sabbath, we're really not supposed to be spending money on Saturday, but today I decided to make an exception.I've been loyal to this business since I was about 10 years old. My best friend and I used to sneak away from church with the money our parents gave us for offerings and come buy bagels instead. Looking back, that's probably not our finest moment, but it was definitely one of our traditions!It made me happy to see that Happy Bagel & Donuts is still around and thriving after all these years. I was sitting there enjoying a freshly baked chocolate croissant that was made just for me after I ordered it, when I overheard the people next to me talking about how they had driven all the way from Orange County just to get donuts from this place. That story alone made me smile.I was only there for about 20 minutes, and the place stayed packed the entire time. Part of me wanted to think it was because of that offering money I gave them all those years ago--just kidding! The chocolate croissant was absolutely delicious, and there are plenty of other items on the menu that I'd love to try. I'll definitely be back... hopefully on a day that isn't Saturday. The regular drip coffee is excellent! You can get the flavored creamer or the half and half. The bagel and croissant breakfast sandwiches are excellent. I've had the sesame seed bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese. I also enjoy the toasted sesame seed bagel with cream cheese. They put plenty of cream cheese in it, yum. There is plenty of seating space. The donuts are excellent as well. I usually don't like donut, but these are the exception. I recommend you get a dozen for friends. They are worth sharing. My kids and I wanted to try a new spot for breakfast. We were in Downey and decided to search up a place to get a breakfast sandwich. Our search lead us here. This is a small mom and pop owned shop with a lot of flavor. It has some indoor seating and a few tables outside. It's in a shopping center with other businesses so if you blink you will miss it. They had a kiosk to order from or you can order at the counter. They were really busy on Sunday so we did have to wait for our sandwiches. Once we got our food and tasted it we knew it was worth the wait. The turkey, avocado, chipotle bagel was delicious. I had a pastrami sandwich and that was also really tasty. We didn't get any drinks but others did so we got to see what they had. Next time we will try their Vietnamese coffee and strawberry matcha. Let me just say this is the best bagel place that I have gone too not only is the owner the nicest person in the world, he is always so fast with multi tasking everyone's order here. I always always leave a tip because I know how good the service is and I know it's probably run by family own business! I wanted to wait a few days before leaving my review so I wouldn't do it while angry and give it 1 star. The donuts are fine. The bagels are fine, they taste almost like regular bread. Nothing spectacular. I had a ham egg and cheese. My ham was still cold. The prices are decent, the place is small but clean. Here's my anger... the guy got my order wrong. And instead of just saying, "I can fix it for you" he argued that I ordered it that way. I know I didn't as I don't eat turkey. But that's beside the point. He didn't have to say anything to me other than, "I can change it" Arguing with a customer??? Come on. And I'm a nice person so he REALLY didn't have to make me feel bad. It was really rude. Wow! So yummy ! My boyfriend and I were gonna go to McDonald's for breakfast sandwiches but decided to support a small business instead. The breakfast sandwiches we had here were phenomenal. I usually think bacon is just ok but I loved the bacon here. It's slightly sweet with a maple glaze and they add a good amount into each sandwich.
