Gloomy Thursday morning, but in much needed pampering for my birthday. Had booked for a pedicure at first, but then decided to get a gel manicure. Michelle was very sweet and kind. Made an appointment online. Credit card or debit card is required to make an appointment. Honey Nails Salon has other locations, but decided to drop by the Livingston location in Brooklyn. Not crowded during the time I got there, clean establishment, the manager was warm and welcoming. The staff were great and friendly. Shout out to Michelle for doing an amazing job. The nail color selection is my go-to and really like to see nail salons have many varieties along with designs of your choice. I would definitely go back and do recommend this spot. The good: I always appreciate a place that can accommodate folks last minute. The techs were nice and I'm grateful for that. The not so good: I got a gel pedicure w/ a gel replacement. It was $75. She did a mediocre job on cuticle care and callouses and the application was splotchy. Most egregious though: I DID NOT GET A FOOT MASSAGE. What?!? Even at the most basic places they make some attempt to rub your feet down, even for 5 minutes. This might have redeemed the mediocre job but I won't be going back here. read more

The lady I spoke to was very friendly and told me they were booked until 4:30 but could squeeze me in. The salon has chic and modern atmosphere, perfect for the ambience of pampering. Called as soon as they opened to see if there were any openings for a pedicure and sns on my nails. They were able to see me right away. I dropped my AirPods in the water during my pedicure and Kelly wasted no time jumping up to help me get them. Prices are a smidge high, but you are paying for great service, aesthetic, and product. Got a french manicure here. The price was good. The manicure looked nice when it was done, but the tech was pretty harsh with my cuticles and that was uncomfortable. I don't like when they dig under the nail and she wouldn't stop even when I cringed away from her. The neck massage was terrible, though. Very painful. Don't do it. read more

It's okay. I came here for a gel Manicure and simple design for Valentine's Day with just hearts. It require another person to come and do it over so I really wasn't pleased. So I wouldn't intentionally come back here unless I was in the neighborhood and really needed my nails done. One thing I judge about a nail salon is the consistency of your designers. You are just as good as your weakest designer. If I come to your salons, everyone should be able to do a great job so this place gets a 3.5/5 for me. read more

From the minute I walked in for my appointment, the staff acted like they were annoyed with my presence. I scheduled a scrub pedicure and was shocked at how poor the quality and service was for the amount that I was paying. The employee doing my pedicure sighed the entire time and during each part of the service said "you don't want ____ right?" She spent more time saying I didn't want things and shoving a timer at me than anything else. I felt incredibly uncomfortable and ended up paying for services I didn't receive. They upcharged $10 for the air dry polish I chose, which would be fine if they had actually bothered to paint the entire nail. For nearly $80 it was a complete waste of time and money. I am very particular with my nails and tend not to trust people with them especially when it comes to the shape I want. The team here at Honey Nails (Sally, Heidi, Amanda, and Mia) are incredible!! I got the perfect gel pedicure to go with my gel xtension manicure! They are beyond nice and do everything they can to make you feel taken care of and relaxed. I just broke two of my nails right before my birthday and they were extremely accommodating. They squeezed me in and did an immaculate job. I really wanted to love this nail salon but it is just way too expensive and my gel extensions/polish has held up terribly. My second time here my polish started a bright blue but within days turned green, dirty looking and lumpy. The staff/owner are wonderful and the owner provided me a free update (without an appointment) when I showed how bad the most recent color became and said it must have been a chemical reaction... but 3-4 days later it looks terrible again and is chipping. A similar dirty look happened with my first $120+ full set, though I didn't take a picture then as I thought it must have been a one off. This is absolutely not worth the $80 for a basic FILL. They are clean and extremely kind, so if you have the money and are just getting polish - maybe it will work for you. read more

Vanderbilt Ave location - EXCELLENT natural nail work. However, DO NOT GO HERE FOR GEL EXTENSIONS. They were confused from the time I requested extensions. I take responsibility because I should have nixed it and just stuck with the pedicure based on their reaction alone. Since I was there I let them continue and, in less than a week, 6 nails, including one that she fixed 48 hours after my original appointment, have fallen off. Since then four others have fallen and I've had to fix myself. Again, it had not been a week. I've had many gel extensions over the years and I've never lost 6 nails in 5 days. I had a pedicure done, and while it turned out well, there were some issues. We had a scheduled appointment, but the salon was running late by about 30 minutes. No big deal, i get that scheduled are hard to keep. But the person in charge of scheduling was also quite rude to us, which didn't help. The woman who did my pedicure was friendly, but she was rough when it came to my cuticles. Instead of pushing them back, she used the cuticle nipper aggressively and scraped down kind of banging down on the base of my nail which was a bit uncomfortable. It's been almost a week at this point and they still kind of hurt. Additionally, while the tools they used appeared clean, the floors around the sinks were dirty. Overall, they did a decent job with the polish, but it was a mixed experience. I probably won't be back. read more

I went here this summer right before my wedding. This is when it just re-opened after the COVID shut down. Everyone was very safe, customers were spread out, and they took my temperature and my contact info when I came in. There were no-contact plexiglass barriers for the manicure. The nail artist did a great job on both my nails and toes - I just had a typical manicure, no gel or anything like that - and it still lasted a couple of weeks. Thick, clunky gel extensions that looked so unnatural, the tech got gel underneath my fingernails which has been hell to remove, and my cuticles on three fingers were basically bleeding when I left. Just a complete lack of care.
