The outdoor sale sign is just bait - don't fall for it…read more I went there during the afternoon on a weekday because I was impressed by the outdoor sale sign showing mani plus pedi for $38 Monday through Thursday before 3 pm. The service was good but their business practices are atrocious. It's clear that they have no intention of sticking to the sale. As soon as I entered they were upselling. Warning: if you say yes to anything they offer, you opt out of the sale and they charge you the menu prices. This is what they want. They want few customers to actually get the sale. So I got a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. They should have charged the sale price for the regular pedicure or make it clear (aka verbalize) that I would be opting out by adding gel to my manicure. I expected to pay the difference for the gel manicure but still pay the sale price for the regular pedicure. And when I asked about it, the manager started speaking so loudly in an attempt to embarrass me by getting everyone in the salon to turn and look at me. Rude attitude. I paid them the full price (and tipped because the nail tech was good) but I won't be going back.

They sanitize everything (including your hands), use new tools, and even have a small curtain separating you when you do your pedicure. Place seems very clean and quiet, and I was happy with the services. The manicure was approx. 1.5hrs. The manicure lasted over 3 weeks- no peel off or lift up of polish that snags into your hair. I was so happy I found a new place. My second time was totally different. I looked for the 1st attendant I had, they were not in and after giving my description of the other staff- they seemed totally unfamiliar with who I was talking about. I wish I had gotten their name. My manicure lasted way shorten than the first and felt less comfortable. It was rushy, anxious and impersonal. Each mani after my 1st last exactly 2 weeks- the polish lifted and peeled ridiculously. Try tying up a ponytail with peeling nail polish, thee worst! My 3rd time would be similiar- cold, hurried and abrupt, short communication. I think this way of being in these places has become so status quo that it is no longer questioned or challenged. My 4th time is the shortness time of all. This time I got a pedicure. I didn't get polish so I was really hoping so attention would be given to the smoothness of my toenails since they again, wouldn't be covered with polish. Not so much. I don't press people that handle my food or body parts (for reason that most may understand) so I left it alone. My manicure was the shortness time spent to date. I got the gel manicure and was done before the women next to me that got a regular and she started before me!! It seemed like every time I came, a step in the mani process was removed. This will be my final time coming here. I will say the place is clean, the tools and overall space. I got 10% off for paying in cash which was decent only for them to keep 4 cents of my .29 change. He handed me a quarter. I do not like when vendors take it upon themselves to keep change. It is a bully tactic (as it would look "petty" for me to ask for 4 cents) and doesn't reflect good faith. My search for budget and staff friendly nail salon continues.

Out of several of the salons in the area, I always find myself back at Lilac because they are quick, efficient, clean and friendly. I will admit, I rarely get polish done. The few times I've had regular polish done here, it has chipped after a couple of days. I could pay extra for the long-wear, but I don't need it. If I am getting my nails done, it is literally for some day-of event. I like that they have massage chairs for the pedicures, and also actual chair massages if you want to add on to your manicure or pedicure. The ladies are always nice and never pressure me into taking a more expensive package. They also always remember my preference of never having cuticles cut or having my nails painted and it's the little things that matter.
