Wanted to try a local spot I haven't been to before and Honeygrow did not disappoint. I ordered the Red Coconut Curry Stir Fry. I appreciate that they warn you that the noodles may absorb the sauce during travel but this is actually how I prefer the noodles! The order is large enough to be shared by 2 people or split into 2 meals. It was the right amount of spicy and in addition to the noddles, I love the texture of the tofu. Fast casual stir fry First time coming to one of these places. Figured I would give it a try and see how it was. It's very much a modern fast casual restaurant. You get touch screens and some pre-built bowls you can choose from. You can customize your bowl to whatever you would like, and the teens in the kitchen get a ticket and throw it together for you. Everything is open so you can watch them make your food, and they drop your food into a cubby for you to pick it up. In terms of a restaurant, it's very much a corporate affair. Built for extreme efficiency, this is the type of place I can see using robotic arms to make food as a way to reduce cost. The food itself was serviceable, was fresh and cooked properly. I appreciated the egg white noodle option and it had plenty of toppings. As a highly specific restaurant, it does okay. I was out later at night during the week and was looking for something quick in the area that was still open. I landed on Honey Grow as they were open until 10pm and had online ordering available. It's been a handful of years since I've eaten here but I remember liking it. I placed an order online for stir fry egg noodles with a bunch of different vegetables and no meat with garlic butter sauce. My order confirmation said my food would be ready for 9:20pm pickup which was perfect for how far away I was. I walked in the doors at 9:18 and sure enough my order was completed and handed to me right at 9:20. There were a handful of other guests waiting for pickup and what I thought was a surprising number of employees working that late at night. It seemed like the restaurant was clean and organized. Once I arrived at home and took the container out of the bag I was a little concerned that I was still going to be hungry after eating. The box looked small but everything packed in nicely. Flavor was good. Vegetables were fresh. I skipped the meat and added extra vegetables which came out to $0.59 per additional vegetable after the 3 that come with the meal. I got baby corn, kale, mushrooms, broccoli, snow peas, and baby spinach and topped it with sesame seeds and crispy onions. Ordered a Kale Caesar salad from here and it was absolutely trash. For $15.00 this is definitely at the bottom as one of the worst salads I've ever had. The Kale didn't taste fresh. The chicken was tasteless and the croutons were rock hard. The only thing which tastes decent was the dressing but it was so thick it was impossible to spread it throughout the salad. Not to mention it was such a small amount given. I ordered online so the only thing I can think of which was enjoyable about the experience was the process of ordering online which was quick. We had a set pick up time and the food arrived 18minutes later. No one handed the food to us so we also had to walk inside and grab it ourselves. The food was good, but pretty pricey for how simple it is. I ordered the signature sweet soy five spice, and my parents did create your own stir fry. We all agreed that my moms order lacked the vegetables and sauce for some reason. I also ordered the fruit + granola, which was delicious but not worth $7.50. But, that's better than drenching it in sauce. No biggie for me. Hungry & no food in the house, figured I should just pick something up. Had to be close to home and something I haven't tried yet, so Honeygrow seemed like the perfect answer. Inside I personally like ordering from a kiosk, only slight issue if someone or someones are at the first kiosk and blocking the lane to get to the next kiosks you just need to scoot by them. I ordered a standard menu item, spicy garlic noodle dish, with the chicken, broccoli, green peppers pineapple... delicious, although no garlic flavor! Maybe I can ask for extra garlic next time. The spice was definitely there. The flavor combination of all the ingredients worked really well together. Loved that it came in a Chinese style takeout box.
