Many moons ago, I tried Honeygrow in Chicago but they didn't last in that location. When I saw they opened a new location here, I decided to pop in and give them another shot. The set-up is to self order at one of the kiosks and they call your name when it's ready. The pros - very clean, friendly service, food comes out quick. I ordered the red curry stir fry and subbed in chicken in place of the tofu. The level of spice was perfect - had a kick but not too crazy. Standard bowls are ~$12-14 but portion sizes are very good. Free parking right out front. The cons - menu offerings not that interesting in my opinion. My stir fry was mostly noodles and sauce. And if I'm going to pay more than $12 for a salad, I'd rather get a unique option at Sweetgreen. I felt the honeybar (desserts) sounded amazing but slightly above what I would pay at a fast casual place (~$8). Overall, 3.5 stars rounded up to 4. It's my personal preference that I wouldn't normally go out for a stir fry bowl or salad, but if that's your thing then you may want to give this new restaurant a try!

The spicy chili garlic seasoning added the perfect amount of spice. And they even bring out extra spice to the table, if you need more! The fresh house-made noodles were cooked perfectly. The toppings -- marinated egg, green onions, bamboo shoots, kikurage mushrooms, and sesame seeds -- all came together really well. I added soybeans to my bowl. Definitely one of the best ramen bowls I've had in Michigan. I'll be back for sure. Service was quick. And even at 4pm, the place was already packed. My belly was so happy after this meal!

Not really much of an ambiance - it's a very casual place with pretty basic decor. Everyone working there was friendly and our food was brought out to us in a reasonable amount of time. I got the classic tonkotsu ramen and it was really good! The broth was flavorful and complex, the pork was tender, and the egg perfectly jammy. Apparently they make their noodles fresh everyday. The price of a ramen bowl was on par with what I'm used to (~$20 with tax + tip) but the sushi seemed a little pricey. I will have to come back to try it.

The noodles were thick and toothy with a savory and especially tasty sauce. The combination of shrimp and scallops was buttery. The vegetables had a natural earthiness. I also loved the green onion pie (a.k.a., scallion pancake). The dough had the ideal weightiness to complement the gentle green onion flavor. I will definitely return.

And whoever mops the floors must have an irrational childhood fear of cleaning corners. Although the floors themselves are clean, each corner has a disgusting black buildup of filth. Likewise, the sinks in the bathroom. They have not been cleaned well in a very long time. Food: the beef roll pie is delicious. The marinated beef is OK but should be served cold, not room temperature. The steamed dumplings were OK too. However, the noodle dishes were oily, bland, flavorless, and just seasoned with a sweet brown sauce. Further, there is almost no meat to be found in the noodle dishes. What I had looked to be scraps. I paid three dollars extra to have the wide hand cut noodle. It was basically served raw to me. Service: this place has no concept of service. Food comes out haphazardly. First I got my entrée, then my daughter got her entree, then we got two appetizers. Sometime later, my son got his entrée, and the steamed dumplings came. Never once was an empty dish taken away, and never once was a water glass refilled. Service here is absolutely awful. Other than the beef roll pie, there isn't a single redeeming quality about this place. The food is awful, the service is terrible, all surfaces are sticky and dirty. Avoid this place at all cost.

I guess it allows the customer to have some fun and enjoy throwing different topping items into the hot broth. You can decide which items to add/omit based upon your preferences. Note, you don't have to add all the items. Our favorite broth was the Hot & Sour. The pepper salt fish fillet was good and we also enjoyed the cucumber in sauce (cucumber salad). Worth trying at least once. Next time I'm back, I'll try more items on their snack menu side and rice.

I would highly recommend Ten Seconds Rice Noodles and look forward to going back.

You can tell this is truly a family operation. There is such attentive and impeccable service here. Every time I've been, I've felt genuinely welcomed and taken care of. The food is absolutely outstanding. I've been back multiple times now, and my favorite is the spiced pork wontons with noodles. The wontons are crispy and juicy on the inside, and the noodles soak up all the spicy oil flavor. This is the kind of dish I find myself thinking about later. The mango crispy chicken is another must-order. Crispy chicken with that sweet mango flavor sounds simple enough, but it just works. It has a perfect balance of sweet and spicy, my favorite combination. Oakland Tea House is exactly the kind of small, family-run restaurant I love finding. The first time my wife and I stopped by it was closed (Monday and Tuesday) If you enjoy authentic Asian cuisine I highly recommend you give this place a try. The owner ( Vingy for short) greeted my wife and I and helped us choose menu items based on what we liked, etc. We were one of two parties in the very small dining room ( eight tables) when we arrived and by the time we ate our dinner there were no tables available. We started with pork dumplings and cucumber salad as our appetizers. The salad was the freshest I've had anywhere. Bright, delicious but not overpowering. The dumplings were tasty and perfect in the two dipping sauces that accompanied these tasty morsels. I ordered the Dan-Dan noodles while my wife ordered one of the crispy chicken dishes (garlic). My noodle dish was filled with handmade noodles, braised pork and fresh aromatic vegetables. I could have licked the bowl it was that good. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her chicken entree as well. We ordered a pot of oolong tea that became more tasty as we let it steep at our table. This is the most authentic Asian food I've ever had hands down. Needless to say, we will be back to sample the other items on the menu.
