It's Filipino. It's local. We're starving. I know the Philippines and their cuisine. Grew up on it. To begin with the room is pretty cool for an informal dining stop. From the exposed brick wall to the subtle references to their homeland, it's a comfortable setting that you don't mind spending extra time enjoying. The wait staff are wonderful and the service was unbeatable. My SIL from Manila joined us and after they had a nice conversation (in Tagalog), they jammed a ton of what they had made onto a couple of platters and charged us next to nothing. I think they liked her. We tipped the daylights out of them. They responded with Mango Cake to take home, since we were stuffed. Everything is delicious. Best Pancit I've had in years. Beef was great. The lumpia actually made the way I like it. I'm going to go ahead and label this authentic. Pro Tip: If you have no prior experience with Filipino food, tell them so. Let them guide you based on your preferences until you become astute enough to know what to order. 04/25

"Five Star" food without hesitation. If you've never tried Filipino food or are a native looking for food made with love like back home, this place is amazing. Kindest owner and chef I've met in a long, long time. Cool eatery, reasonable prices, and decor that makes the experience one worth repeating! Give it a try - you will not be disappointed!

This is a fairly new place, so we thought we'd check it out. Upon walking in, I knew I'd like it. They have a mini store, a turo-turo restaurant, and some desserts to go. The ambience is fantastic, and the space is Instagram-friendly. The owners are super friendly, and the service is fantastic. They even surprised my mom with an ube dessert for her birthday. That made our lunch very special.

5/5, give this place a try. You won't regret it. From the service to the food, this is THE Filipino place in the Michigan/Troy area. I was unimpressed by the display walking in. It was 6 buffet-like containers of food that looked dry when I arrived 30 minutes before closing. I had a number of items I wanted to try, including bbq pork, Shanghai lumpia, and beef salpicao. However, I was told they don't have a fixed menu, and currently, they are just cooking items per the owners discretion, and one must call ahead to know the items ahead of time. THE MENU POSTED ON YELP IS NOT UP TO DATE AND DOES NOT REPRESENT THEIR CURRENT MODE OF SERVICE. I decided to give these 3 dishes a try. I was SO pleasantly surprised. The beef and mushroom was not too heavy. Savory Filipino sauce. No wonder this was their third batch that day. The pork hocks was delicious. Fatty. Not overly salty. Melts in your mouth. The definition of homey-filipino soul food. Pancit-staple Filipino noodle dish perfectly fried and again not too heavy- paired perfectly with other two dishes. The service was superb. The owner, Vangie, is super nice and humble. She is the like the motherly/grandmotherly figure you imagine cooking soul-warming food that reminds you of home. Great person. Great food. Price very reasonable. 7.5$ for pint. Little more for quart. Just be sure to call ahead to see what they have (again, menu posted as of now is not up-to-date).

10/10 everything! Food is amazing. Literally everything tastes good. You can't go wrong. Lumpia is freshly made. You can order one dozen at a time ($0.60 each). Sausage is sweet and savory, tastes very similar to Taiwanese sausages. 2 entree items are very unique but both tasted great! Would definitely return to try other items. Also service is amazing. People are super friendly there! Highly recommend this place. So happy to have a traditional Philippine cuisine place around.

Reminds me of my childhood. Delicious food and amazing service. Portions are great. The restaurant is small but inviting.

Front desk staff cover both ordering and waiting tables, and they do a great job at it. There's a great dine in area and parking for the place. It's a solid place for dining in or take out. AND they provide gloves at each table. That's the level of detail that is very appreciated and awesome to see as a customer!

At each table gloves, chopsticks, hand sanitizer, plastic straws, and plastic utensils were provided. Which is such a thoughtful touch. The fried chicken was SUPER juicy and tender with a cornflake fried batter covered in chosen sauces. There were so many flavor options to choose from, which made it fun to decide. The pieces were huge, so the price felt completely worth it. The servers were especially kind and patient with us as first-timers. They took the time to explain the most popular flavors and gave great recommendations, which we really appreciated. The only downside were the sides. The onion rings and fries didn't seem to have any seasoning. So, they tasted a bit plain compared to the bold, flavorful chicken. I'd definitely come back for the chicken alone. If you're craving crispy, juicy fried chicken with tons of flavor options, this is a spot worth trying!

After the brief search through several junk drawers, my mum pulled out the slightly creased menu for Babel restaurant. Quickly, decisively and with military precision we decided on the grilled meat tray for 4. Were you thinking how exciting that sounds? That makes three of us. Arriving at the market, the little kitchen is located straight back. Nothing fancy, nothing notable, obviously no seating. Food was ready at the time they said it would be, wrapped neatly and ready to go. Once home, there was a difference of opinion on the enjoyment of the food. My son, being 15 and eating everything in sight, said he liked and my dad being 78 and not really caring, said it was fine. My Mother on the other hand was a big fan. She said it was delicious. Of course, after eating pizza 3x a week with the grandkids she babysits, just about anything would have gotten a good grade from her. So along with son and Pops, I'm throwing her opinion out the door. So that leaves the one opinion that truly matters and that is mine. The food was still warm when we ravaged it, so this is not a case of it getting cold first. However, in my humble opinion, there was much lacking. The eggplant stew and the mixed veggie plate was good, no issues. The stew was thick and flavorful with good texture and viscosity. Great weight on the tongue. But we aren't here for stew and some mixed fruits are we? We are here for the main event and that was the meat try. Sadly I found it extremely overcooked and dried out. The rice was a meager serving for a dish that was meant to serve 4, and while the kabobs were a good size all of the meats were very dry and chewy. I actually poured some of the stew onto the meats just to add some flavor and moisture to it. As for flavor, that came out on the short end also. Let me make it clear, nothing was bad about the meal, but there was nothing that made say I wanted to come back and eat it again. Nothing stood out as a must have and that is disappointing cause I had high hopes.

And whoever mops the floors must have an irrational childhood fear of cleaning corners. Although the floors themselves are clean, each corner has a disgusting black buildup of filth. Likewise, the sinks in the bathroom. They have not been cleaned well in a very long time. Food: the beef roll pie is delicious. The marinated beef is OK but should be served cold, not room temperature. The steamed dumplings were OK too. However, the noodle dishes were oily, bland, flavorless, and just seasoned with a sweet brown sauce. Further, there is almost no meat to be found in the noodle dishes. What I had looked to be scraps. I paid three dollars extra to have the wide hand cut noodle. It was basically served raw to me. Service: this place has no concept of service. Food comes out haphazardly. First I got my entrée, then my daughter got her entree, then we got two appetizers. Sometime later, my son got his entrée, and the steamed dumplings came. Never once was an empty dish taken away, and never once was a water glass refilled. Service here is absolutely awful. Other than the beef roll pie, there isn't a single redeeming quality about this place. The food is awful, the service is terrible, all surfaces are sticky and dirty. Avoid this place at all cost.
