We tried this spot late night as it was one of the only dessert places open in Chinatown. First thing we noticed was the menu was extremely large - they sell poke, burgers, noodles, taiwanese food, in addition to the regular dessert menu and drink menu. Fast service and large seating area if you're looking for a restaurant to go with your friends. Got the taro bowl which was unfornately small for the price. Compared to other staples like Meet Fresh (which closed down :( or we would've gone) This was a tiny bowl for 10$. Came here because I was craving coconut sago, was super happy that I found this place! The cafe is super clean and the staff super friendly and helpful! They had so many options! I landed on the coconut sago with taro and mochi balls and added a scoop of red bean. Get the milk custard with mango! We tried a few sagos and shaved iced from here and the milk custard is by far the best! It's a light fluffy version similar to Panacotta topped with either mango sauce or strawberries. It's not overly sweet! We also got a sesame/cashew warm dessert but the flavours were mild and I wouldn't reccomend this particular item. Located near Kensington Market in Chinatown. Nice place to hang out with friends to grab some dessert and drinks. I just came here to get the durian dessert only. I heard it's really good. I ordered the durian crepe dessert around $12 CAD for 2 piece. Seems a bit expensive. But the dessert was really good. I can actually taste durian flavor in it. They were not skimping on the durian. My friends and I were in the area and decided to get dessert here. I ordered the snow white sago in vanilla ice because I found raisins in it to be unique so I wanted to try that out. Small space but big sliding doors for the entrance. You order at the counter and serve yourself water. Your food is brought out to you when it's done. My boyfriend really liked the casual and open atmosphere. Staff were kind. One thing to note though was that the bathroom didn't have any toilet paper... The food was pretty ok. My boyfriend got the snow coco dessert which he thoroughly enjoyed. They give you a real coconut and you're able to scrape the inside part to eat. I had a bit of it and it was okay, but I think the longan tasted a bit weird. I think it was a bit pricy at $17. I got the mango milk custard, which was very normal. The desserts here are like a honeymoon: sweet, fresh, full of light and love, but a bit pricey. Stopped by for an afternoon snack and got the durian pillows (lots of filling, strong durian taste), mango pomelo soup and grass jelly (super refreshing, good mango chunks) and chen-pui tea with pear (great hot tea for a cold day, generous amount of pear). Enjoyed all of them, but liked the pillows the most. Service is friendly (note: you go to the counter to order). Place is well-lit, clean, and well laid out. Menu is very extensive. It just depends on what you're looking for. You can get dessert, drinks, or food. When we came we were the only ones there, so the place was clean. Service was good and helpful. We got mango milk custard, mango pomelo soup & bean curd, pear with chuen pui tea, and ube almond latte. Prices were standard for what we got. We're from the US, so when we convert the prices back to USD, it's about the same. Dessert portion sizes are not like tiny. As you can see in my picture, they put a lot of mango on my milk custard. It was very flavorful. Custard consistency was smooth and slightly thick. Mango pomelo soup and bean curd was delicious. They also put in ample amount of mango into this one. Both of the drinks were hot, they had pleasing aromas to them. They're both very good for drinking on a cold day. Those sizes are big for the price. read more

First of all the door is a piece of wooden board. There are several seating areas available and you pay and order at the cashier. I've tried the sesame & red bean soup with glutinous rice balls, ube and durian pillows. The portions are quite small in my opinion, but this was a new spot for me to try out. The ube pillow was quite soft and flavouring is not strong. This was not bad but nothing special. The durian pillow was packed filled with durian and was pretty good. As for the black sesame and red bean soup, it tasted pretty generic. It's something that I can find anywhere else. I recommend coming here if you love durian! This is a Chinese dessert place serving chilled desserts in bowls, glutinous rice balls, dessert pillows, and fresh fruit drinks. We ordered the following: 1. Mango Pomelo & Sago Sweet Soup with Grass Jelly ($8.49). 2. Signature Fruit Green Tea ($6.99). You could also choose Balck Tea instead. Both were absolutely delicious. I love all the ingredients in the sweet soup so it was the perfect dessert for me. The drink had the following fruits in it: 2 apple slices, orange slice, watermelon cubes, pineapple slices, 1 lime slice, and passion fruit. I like all the fruits except the lime. The mixture with the green tea was the perfect blend. When dining in, they provide you with a real spoon instead of a plastic spoon (as customary during the pandemic). The staff were courteous and helpful. This is their newest location. It is in soft opening from 2022-05-10 to 19 and during that period, everything is 15% off. On their grand opening 2022-05-20 to 21), the first 50 customers get one free dessert, either the Mango Pomelo & Sago Sweet Soup ($7.49) or the 2-Pilllow Combo (Ube and/or Mango) ($9.49). There will also be a spin-to-win game. There is only indoor seating but during reasonable weather, they open on side of the restaurant allowing fresh air to flow. One funny situation happened: a squirrel ran into the restaurant and into the kitchen in the back! All the indoor tables have an electrical outlet with 2 AC plugs (no USB ports) each. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible.  There is a gender-neutral washroom on the ground floor that is also wheelchair accessible (with a door-open hand wave). Came here with some friends for dessert. We got the popcorn chicken, salted egg bubble waffle, mango milk custard and milk custard. The children were too young when they left Hong Kong to remember Honeymoon Dessert, so we decided to give them a more recent memory. I actually prefer their Toronto menu which offers salads, bowls, and bentos in addition to desserts, but we came after dinner, so only had room for dessert. There is a dispenser with cold water for patrons. The staff are friendly and the premises were spotless. They happily accommodated one of our guest's requests for a glass of hot water after she felt too chilled after dessert. Compared to Sugar Marmalade and Meet Fresh, I found the portion and quality of the dessert was reflected in the price. 3.5 stars. The desserts in this place were pretty good. Went here with some friends while we were in the area because we were craving bingsu. This place serves a huge variety of desserts from bingsu to drinks. We all shared a mango bingsu and a matcha oreo bingsu - both were good, pretty mid and nothing too special. My only complaint about the bingsu was the reality of what we were served was quite different than what we saw in the menu pictures.. some of the toppings were different and the matcha bingsu was just powdered matcha on top of the shaved ice (we thought it would be matcha shaved ice). The sizes were also much smaller than expected. Not a big deal tbh but it was a little disappointing to be expecting something and getting something else. read more

Honeymoon Dessert is arguably one of my favourite spots for Asian desserts, and they have opened a new location on Spadina! Service was great as they were very attentive and came to check up on us to see if everything was okay. It's currently soft opened but their grand opening has been announced to occur this weekend (May 21-22)! I am over the moon about this dessert place! At first, I thought it was yet another Chinese dessert place like sugar marmalade except it wasn't because Honeymoon does everything better! No joke, this is the best Hong Kong dessert I've had in a long time. If you're a die hard grass jelly fan like me, then you NEED to try out their homemade grass jelly. They have a softer and slurpier texture than your typical grass jelly. And don't get me started on their durian vanilla ice dessert. A scoop of 100% real durian on top of vanilla flavoured shaved ice and grass jelly. It's refreshing with the perfect amount of sweetness. This is definitely my all time favourite! Their durian pillow filled with durian and cream is also super delicious. If durian is not your thing, they also got mango and ube pillow! Dessert - but make it soup! Dessert soups are one of my fave types of dessert. It may sound strange but its basically dessert in a liquid form - kind of similar to bubble tea, milkshakes, etc. Cold ones are refreshing in the summer, hot ones are a cozy way to warm up for the winter. Love this new downtown location right at the tip of China Town by College and Spadina. Honeymoon Dessert originated from Hong Kong and has multiple franchises in Asia. The first store in Canada is located in Markham by Highway 7 and Warden, and the second location in Scarborough by Huntingwood and Brimley. I love that they now have a downtown location where it's close to University of Toronto!! Their dessert options have widened and always have seasonal specials. This specific location has seatings along the two sides of the walls, the desserts are just as delicious as always and it's always a refreshing hit on a hot summer day! Oh! They also offer warm/hot dessert items on chilly days. The staffs are friendly, professional and very attentive. I love that it's an all girls team so far. Go ladies go!! The downtown location is currently on their soft opening and will have their grand opening this week May 20th and May 21st! Make sure you go by!! I been here several times and I have tried most of their desserts. My favorites were the mango pomelo sago soup series. Its got different textures with a good depth of flavours. I did enjoy their durian ice cream desserts which had a good amount of durian in it but wasn't a big fan of the vanilla ice that came with it. The ice would have been better if it was more crushed. The red bean soups were good too but was pretty much similar to what you get at other places. Their mango and ube pillows look nice and were different from their other items. I would have liked them better if they used ice cream instead of foam cream filling. I tried their almond milk once and thought it was too bland and boring. Portion sizes are small so check this place out after a nice meal. If you like mangos you will want to try their mango soups. read more

I think I would be the expert for honeymoon dessert I went there 10 days in a month. I was able to try a little bit of everything and because of its inconsistency on their menu I would only give them a 3. It's okay. The almond milk - TERRIBLE The durian vanilla shaved ice - durian had that weird frozeness to it, the vanilla snow delicious! Sweetness level is perfect n not too hot. I didn't know Cantonese or hong kong desserts have cashew paste so I tried it. It was pretty good but almond taste overwhelmed the cashew.
