Let me start off by saying this please is great! A small hidden gem in a big plaza. The food is really good the portions are great definitely getting moneys worth. I love that's they have rubs there to by as a BBQ enthusiast it is much appreciated. The meet has a god flavor, not too much of a Smokey flavor but still very good. The poutine was great . Crispy crunchy fries melted gooey cheese and perfect mouthwatering gravy. They BBQ sauces they provided at the table are really good as well. The sweet one has a good sugary acidic flavor and the medium not really hot what so ever. The hot one was actually hot which I appreciate but it was also very flavorful which is difficult to do. I loved the fried pickles. They were fresh and salty just what you want to from a BBQ restaurant. Also our waitress was killing it! She was serving four tables at once and doing take out and answering phones. Outstanding service for sure. My only small complaints about this establishment the bun with the chicken sandwich was not complimenting the chicken it was very dry and thick. I would suggest going with a roll or a brioche bun or even garlic Texas toast. Also all of the drink were bottles so there is no refills and so if your still thirsty you need to buy another drink which for me really adds up. A fountain fountain drink is much needed even if it is just water or tea something with free refills is essential. Our waitress was amazing! The food was not. Meat is missing seasoning and they took the literal terms on "burnt ends" about 15 minutes away from beef jerky. The chicken wings had no seasoning before being cooked I guess the sauce or rub is the seasoning and they were extremely dry. We got the poutine fries as well, the brisket was more like a roast with brown gravy (again both were very bland) and they didn't put any salt or pepper on the fries. I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. The place was very clean and the one server was nice and doing her best to tend to everyone. The brisket was very good and the brisket chili was very good as well. The prices were in line with most BBQ places I have visited. My only gripe is the drink selection. There was only Regular coke and some Joe's products. I would like to see more drink offerings like sprite and maybe fruit punch which goes good with bbq. And cups with ice to keep your drink nice and cold. Otherwise is was very good and I would recommend it to anyone that likes bbq good read more

My sister and I stopped by Honey's Bee Bee Que today, and we had an absolutely amazing experience. The service was phenomenal, and the food was fantastic! Our server was Mayra (the only server in the place, and she was killing it! I never saw her falter, and she was knowledgeable and super friendly). The chef also came out to check on us, and our hats are off to him! We tried the brisket (tender, not fatty, full of fabulous flavor), the pulled pork (melt-in-your mouth, also had great flavor), and the pulled chicken (so tender and juicy). We also had a few sides - the mac and cheese bites (best I have ever had), the baked potato salad (again, one of the best - you can't really go wrong by adding cheese and bacon!), and the sliced beer brats (perfectly cooked, delicious). They also have a ginourmous selection of sauces and seasonings for purchase. AND they are expanding their menu next week. I can't wait to go back! read more

The food is good with large sides. I got the meat and 3. The fried pickles were average but the fries and cole slaw were very good. My unsweet iced tea had no flavor. It tasted like water with some red dye. I think it must be from a bottle and watered down. The tea was very disappointing and nothing like Cracker Barrel or Longhorns tea. BBQ doesn't get any better in Davenport, Florida. We have our own little slice of Good Hometown BBQ. The portion sizes are absolutely wonderful. As someone who is very picky about what they eat, I really appreciate the fact that you get to add your own BBQ condiment. Nothing worse than something coming out over sauced. The "Best in town fries", oh my goodness, I would have to say---YES THEY ARE. I cannot speak more highly of the service. I love that they took the time to talk to us. They really wanted to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Love the fact they went the bottled route. They offer a bottle of water over a glass and all their other beverages are bottled. They also give you a chilled cup with your beverage which is a nice touch. No need to worry about when the ice machine was last cleaned. The restaurant is quaint. It seats roughly 40 people with 6 tables of (4) and the reset as tables of 2. But they easily can accommodate larger groups simply by sliding tables together. Food is super fresh and I love the chalk board that shows what they are sold out of for the day. The music was the perfect level for you to hold conversation at your table. This should be everyones stop for some delicious food and fabulous portions. For the price, it just can't be beat. We will absolutely be back. Truly a GEM here in Posner Park. read more

Okay, so barbecue isn't my go to meal. I am very picky about it and I don't like barbecue sauce much. I have to say that this was the best barbecue I've ever had. That's not me being dramatic, I thought about it and this is by far the best. Not even close. I had the wings and brisket and the Mac and cheese and brisket poutine. I also got to try the beans. The Mac and cheese was very tasty. I had to add some salt and pepper but it was very well made. The smoked wings were full of flavor. The poutine fries were cheesy, saucy and that brisket on top was packed with flavor. Finally the regular brisket I ordered was nice and smoked and flavorful. Now I don't like barbecue sauce (as I said above) but I enjoyed all 3 sauces they had on the table. I prefer the hot one which had some sweetness then kicks you directly in the throat with spice. Again, lots of flavor. It was pricey for two people (but what isn't right now) but the amount of food you got made it worth it. Ordered the baby back ribs. It was over priced for what I got. They were fall off the bone but were over cooked and way to dry. They said it was big about a pound and one half bit not really, because they put a big thick slice of bread under the ribs to make it look bigger. The one pound potato was cooked like on the grill and had a yellow color and tough. The bake bean's had brisisket and these pieces were dry and overcooked. They did refund my money but it ruined my dinner. Think this was a franchise they bought. read more

I'd heard good things but was really disappointed at the lack of attentiveness by staff when eating here. When first walking in I asked the host/waitress if chicken came into contact with pork or beef while smoking and was assured it did not. I reiterated that they couldn't touch the chicken as I was severely allergic to both. We sit down and order, I got wings & pulled chicken with potato salad & onion rings. The food comes out and the pulled chicken is actually pretty decent, the wings were severely lacking flavor, the onion rings were clearly frozen and thrown in some oil with a weird breading, and I'll admit the potato salad was great. Halfway through the potato salad I realize it tasted a little meaty, and start paying closer attention, and see bacon. I turn around and ask the host if there's bacon and she goes yep! I reminded her I was allergic and immediately start panicking because I knew the rest of my day was gonna suck (and it did, 20 hours later and I still feel like crap). She just shrugged her shoulders at me and brought over the check. In hindsight I should've asked for a manager but I knew my stomach was going to hurt really soon and wanted to get home. So we paid $52 (which is also super expensive for bbq!!!) for me to be sick all day/night. I ask about pork in sides a lot but never once have I had to ask if it was in potato salad. read more

Food was better than average. Very much enjoyed it. However the experience I had was not good. They would not take my order over the phone so I could just pick it up and leave. Owner actually called me and said they do not do orders over phone, but food would be ready in like 5-10 minutes. I went and ordered and got a beer and sat down. 20 minutes later, still no food so I bought another beer to which the waitress actually asked me if I was driving....like I was cut off from drinking. 27 minutes from the order, my food finally came out. Of course I was charged $8 for the beers as well. Seemed like a schtick to me. I told owner and we spoke. I told him I had a party coming up and he said he would hook me up. When it came time for the party, I contacted him again, and he told me he would not deliver it. Here I am giving him an opportunity to advertise his business to a brand new gated community, and he won't deliver the food....after already having a bad experience at his restaurant.
