As an Italian person who tries to find good pizza outside of the chain restaurants, this place is great. Now while there is not much decor inside the restaurant, the food does make up for it. The pizza here is great, and I also ordered the fettuccine Alfredo, which was honestly better than I expected. They employees were all friendly and customer service was good. If you live in Davenport, you have driven by this place multiple times before you get on the I4 exit or going into Posner Park. Came here because of all the great reviews for the calzones. We ordered wings, a salad, and two calzones. The wings were crispy and tasty. The first calzone was also really tasty and we were already talking about coming back to try the pizza. The second calzone, however, was a different story. About 20 minutes later, the staff told us they had made it incorrectly. I ordered no peppers, but they removed the pepperoni instead and added peppers. Mistakes happen, so I was fine waiting for a remake. Unfortunately, after another 20-minute wait, I took it to go. When I got home, it was still wrong......they gave me the calzone with peppers anyway. When I walked into Giovannis I immediately wished for a bit more open space around the area you order. The cheese pizza was pretty good, I would say I would prefer a little bit less sauce, and definitely less sauce around the crust. The garlic knots were very good and probably the best part of my order this time around, they were soft enough on the inside with a nice crisp on the outside, floating in garlic. I love the addition of the ice cream parlor, they have built in and tons of dessert option that they have (havent tried them yet). We were staying in Davenport recently, jonesing for some pizza, and Giovanni's was recommended by my son. The kid knows his stuff. His mother is Italian, I love food and he steered us in the right direction. We got carry out, great service on the call and a great recommendation of garlic knots that they featured as a special. The pizza shop is attached to an ice cream and dessert shop that I'm certain we'll try next time. The interior is casual with TVs. Seemed like a good place to dine in. The food...spectacular. The calzone was amazing. For those that are purists, it was about half mozzarella, half ricotta. I loved it this way. The pizza was very good. The pepperoni crisp, crust thin, sausage cut up and spread throughout. The onions and peppers cooked and caramelized. The garlic knots...great flavor, just enough grease. Had takeout pizza here for the first time. It was delicious. We had gluten free guests and they were excited to see there was a cauliflower crust option which they could eat. We ordered 3 pizzas . One ricotta cheese white, one tomato and one cauliflower. All were delicious. This was takeout and we picked up so we found the wait time very good from our ordering time. I'm sad to say that 2 weeks ago we went to order again and we're so disappointed to see that they took the cauliflower pizza choices off their menu!!!! Very disappointing. Wife was craving a pepperoni pizza when we were on I-4 and we really enjoyed our stop here. Our pepperoni pizza was genuinely great. Service left a little to be desired but it was near closing time on a Sunday so I will cut them a little slack. Ordered carryout over the Thanksgiving weekend while we were staying in the area visiting family. Pizza was good, the garlic knots were great, and the calzone was okay. I am still on a search for the calzone of my New York childhood. The sauce was done well, not sweet but seasoned perfectly. It was great for dipping the garlic knots and crusts of the pizza. The sauce was delicious on the pizza, complimenting the cheese and toppings, not overwhelming the slice. The garlic knots were soft and doughy, dripping with buttery garlic sauce. The calzone was filled with mozzarella and a little bit of ricotta. Would love to find a calzone that was 75% ricotta and 25% mozzarella. The mozzarella did not distribute well to the ends of the calzone, so it was essentially plain dough on each end. The calzone itself was cooked perfectly otherwise. Ordering and pickup was easy and we would definitely come back for the garlic knots, another pizza, and try a dessert. read more

It is July 23. My husband and I had a full day at the waterpark decided to treat ourselves with pasta from Giovanni's pizza. It was without a doubt the worst pasta we have ever had. There was not one drop of sauce on the pasta we had to dig to our refrigerator to find cheese to sprinkle on the top. I took pictures and showed all my friends. You can get bottled beverages, a cup to fill or wine by the glass. Seating is inside and out. We ordered chicken parmigiano and spaghetti which came with garlic bread and a chicken and cheese Stromboli (14"). As we waited the dining room started to fill up and takeaways were moving out the door. Both were made to order and arrived hot, plentiful and delicious. Plastic silverware was not preferred but worked well. Two employees checked up on us and cleaned up. We love the food at Giovanni's. The garlic knots are what dreams are made of. So fresh and yummy and dripping with garlic Parmesan sauce. I personally love the dipping red sauce as well. My husband and I love the meat lovers pizza and the kiddos love the Bianca pizza without the ricotta add pepperoni. All fresh from the oven. We appreciate the refillable drinks even though we would prefer coke to Pepsi products. The desserts look amazing but we always leave to full for sweets. The staff is so courteous and helpful. This Giovanni's is new on US27. A nice restaurant without having to drive on I-4. Our first pizza at this location was good but we wanted it a little crispier. It was more like a NY pie where you fold it in order to eat it. It was hot and tasty so I guess what's not to like. I had chicken parmigiana on spaghetti and a small house salad . Wow!! So so good! I will say we didn't get regular pizza but the array of items we did get were amazing!! From the moment an older gentleman answered the phone and took my order I knew it would be amazing. He was so sweet and kind while I was ordering then when my husband added to the order when he picked up (panicked ordered the pizza sub because he was worried we wouldn't have enough) the guy kindly took his order and said it would only be 4 minutes. My husband said inside was nice and so busy but the workers were all kind and working hard! Can't wait to try again! Large Pizza Roll was HUGE. It fed my 14 year old, myself and my husband. It was perfectly cooked and so delicious. Spaghetti with butter had a great taste and a yummy touch of garlic in it! My 12 year old said it was delicious and next time she wants a garlic bread because it was better than Canes! House salad was a great portion split between 2 12 year old girls with leftovers to go with their pasta. One had ranch and one had Caesar dressing and both said it was excellent. Finally my husband ordered a "pizza sub" while it was not what he expected he LOVED it! It was like pizza boats:) And finally, the best of all of this was my family of 5 ate and had left overs and paid $55. Updating my review after many years. Giovanni's is still the best pizza in Davenport. It's really good and I'm never disappointed in the quality. My son and I came in the other day and he wolfed down his pizza. They offer both dine in and carry out, and the space has grown over the years. They have an amazing selection of desserts. The garlic knots are addicting. We don't come as much as I once did because it has gotten more expensive over the years, but they've never sacrificed quality, or customer service. About a year ago we had a less than fantastic food experience, and stopped going. We wanted pizza, so we gave them a chance again today. It wasn't really very good. I'm originally from New York and this is the closest thing to home for me. The garlic knots, my God, are huge. Actually the biggest garlic knots I've ever seen, they're extremely soft as well. Wife and I got 2 pepperoni slices and I honestly don't think I took a breath before I finished mine. 10/10 recommend, staff is friendly and food is good. This was a great find on yelp! We are new to the area, although we did read some reviews that were not so positive we decided to check it out anyway. And I'm glad that we did! This place is popping! When I mean, there was a line to get in, an overflow with people sitting outside, parking lot was full. We ordered ahead, so we just passed by to pick up the pizza and then leave. What a great place! The flavors were fantastic. We ordered the barbecue chicken, pizza and a chocolate cake, which did not last very long! we are definitely going to be back soon. From the selection of ice creams & cakes to the wallpaper and decorations throughout. When you enter you're greeted with a disney themed Mickey/minnie ice cream bench and a pair of cases (one display, one double self service full door). The decor and painting, lighting, on theme wallpaper to the lighting (notice the pink and white in addition to the under counter lights!). The selection of ice cream and treats was great.
