Took my dog in for grooming....my daughter picked him up and his eye was blood shot red. I called n spoke to someone who I was told was the manager. No apology was given. She gave me much attitude before even hearing what I had to say. Told me I could take the dog to the vet but they would not be paying for it. I asked if I could speak to the owner she told me she was the owner, which is not what I was told originally.....Horrible Service!!!! read more

Since my original review was somehow deleted ... I'll do it again since I drive past this place everyday and everyday I think of how rude the owner is !!! I have been coming here for a year and even tho lady was unfriendly it was fine Bc they did a decent job for a good price. So anyhow, my dog had a 9am appointment on a Thursday, I dropped her off promptly at 9 , usually it takes 2 hours for them to call me and say she's done. Well this particular day she called me by 9:20 and said she's done come get her. ( you get an hour after the call to pick up) I said ok I'm running an errand I'll hurry back. ( I was headed 45 min away to pick up my plates from the dealer, thinking I had at least 2 hours before she called) well by 10:15 she's calling me asking where I'm at , I explained I was on my way but it'll be 30 min. She continued to call me repeatedly yelling at me telling me if I don't get there she's locking my dog in there Bc she needs to leave early. ( now when I dropped her off why wouldn't you tell me you were only open a half day). Needless to say I ended up getting a speeding ticket on my way, I finally get there and she is yelling saying this is unacceptable etc etc. very unprofessional , she should have stated when I dropped my dog off that she was the only appointment and it would be less than the usual time Bc she had plans. I am on a budget but I still put aside money to get my dog groomed but I hated that the only place I could afford was this business I don't understand how this business is still open but thank god I told pets mart my dilemma and they've been kind enough to give me an affordable discount so now I don't have to stress about how my baby red red is being groomed Honeys Grooming Parlor does not deserve my patriotism they have horrible customer service and treat the customer as if they don't need the business I live in alsip and I like to support the local small businesses but I will never support this small business EVER again and it wouldn't shock me if they finally close down thank god for petsmart a company that actually cares about the pets and their owners read more

One star is way TOO much for this place. My family and I have been LOYAL customers of Honey's since 2003. Yes, that is 10 years! We purchased both our dogs there, one in 2003 and the other in 2010. Although we have seen/heard the bad reviews, we have never really had a problem w/ them, and continued to be customers. Well, until today... I called the store Thurs afternoon (8/1/13) and asked for an appointment. They had no opening until Saturday (8/3), so I took an appointment for 10:30 AM. I spoke to the owner, Marcella (who I've noticed always has a stuck up "high and mighty" attitude) and she said "ok we'll see you on Saturday, I have your phone number". She didn't ask for my name, what type of pet I have, etc. Fast fwd to Saturday. My dad brought our dog to Honey's for his 10:30 appointment. Marcella rudely tells him he doesn't have an appointment and they do not take dogs without an appointment. My dad told her their name (not knowing the lady didn't have any name for the appointment, just my phone #). She told him she has nothing written down for that time slot. He was very insulted that she pretty much called him a liar and so he left. My mom called me and told me what happened. I called Marcella and at first calmly explained to her about the miscommunication on their part. She said it wasn't their fault that my dad had no appointment and left. That's when I started getting mad. I told her that we in fact had an appointment, because I'm the one who made it on Thursday. And I also reminded her she merely told me "see you Saturday, I have your phone #" and didn't bother to get any more information. So that's on them that nothing was written down for the appointment slot. She briefly said "MAYBE it was my fault for not writing it down but it's your dad's fault for leaving". She refused to take any type of responsibility and continued to blame my dad. I was talking to her and she kept trying to cut me off and interrupt. So I told her it IS her fault because they are the ones who have a business and it is THEIR responsibility to make sure every appointment is written down. She cut me off and said "well I'm very busy. Bring the dog in if you want". I said no, we will never go back there and they just lost customers of TEN YEARS! She said in a rude and sarcastic tone "Well, that's FIIINNNNE"... Before she could finish, I hung up on her, this time cutting HER off. I have already said what I wanted to say, and instead of apologizing for their mistake, she kept blaming my dad and dodging any fault in the situation. And plus, I was done listening to her annoyingly shrill voice. What a b*tch! They are a HORRIBLE business! And as much as we love our dogs, I wish we didn't give them 10 years of good service. They definitely don't deserve it. Aside from this review, I have seen other reviews about sick puppies being sold, only to die a few days/weeks after their purchase. And of course, her nasty attitude keeps getting mentioned, over and over and OVER. I hope this place closes down because they are a waste of a business. I feel sorry for the puppies there because I know they don't take very good care of them. (When we purchased our dogs, 1 had worms and the other had Giardia- an intestinal infection in animals caused by a parasite. Giardia is transmitted by contaminated drinking water & germs). If you want to spare yourself the attitude and high "self worth" attitude of this b*tch, go somewhere else. If you do purchase a dog there, make sure you get them to a vet ASAP to make sure they are ok. And don't go back there for their grooming business. For what they do (which is basically mediocre work), it is not worth your trouble. read more

I had a terrible experience at this place. I bought a puppy and the dog was sick. I took him to the vet and the owner had said she would cover the expenses. I took her the invoice and did not want to be responsible. She was very rude, disrespectful and even asked me to leave her place because she was not going to pay for the dogs medication and doctor visit. She did not follow the contracts conditions and was non professional at all. She lied to me since the beginning and kept my money selling me a sick dog. I would not recommend anyone to go there! i have purchased a lab from this pet store about 4 months ago and the puppy has been healthy ever since i havent had any problems with my dog. my mother has also perchased a puppy from the pet store and her dog is as healthy as can be as well. the dogs came with a 1 year warrenty and a vet certificate for the first free vet visit. i would buy a dog from here again it was a good outcome. read more

i used to go to honey's about a year ago before i moved out of state; i am back now and intended to resume being a customer; i made my appt in advance and once i entered their store today i was immediately bombarded with RUDE behavior by the lady behind the counter; she was very curt, abrasive and abrupt, acted as if she was mad that i actually came into the store; when i was attempting to describe how i wanted my dog groomed she talked over me and spoke to me as if i was the one with the problem; as she was leading my dog back to be groomed she DRAGGED him across the floor in front of me; the guy from the back came to get him; the final straw was when i asked the price for grooming and she again spoke to me RUDELY; they are mistaken if they feel i am going to spend money with them only to be treated like crap; if they are treated paying people like this, HOW ARE THEY REALLY TREATING MY DOG????????? and i agree, one star is one star too many for this establishment; read more

I purchased my Yorkie Terrier July 11, 2011 and after I left the pet store I went to Petsmart to get some supplies. My puppy started coughing and the Petsmart employee said sounds like she's got kennel cough, so I took her back to the pet store. They told me to take her to the clinic in Orland Park where I could get her checked out and that was included with the cost. Sure enough, I was given some antibiotics to give her for 10 days. I took her to my own vet to have her checked out. She soon got over her coughing. Now my main concern came just on yesterday, my puppy's birthday. I took her to be groomed and this was the third time I'd taken her. I explained how I wanted her to be groomed with a terrier skirt and to leave a little hair on top for her bows. When I came to pick up my puppy and took her to the car there was blood coming from somewhere and I immediately took her back in. They said oh he cut her back nail too short and he took her to the back to put something on it. I left the pet store because she had her vet appointment, but when I got home and really got a chance to look at her, her hair cut was very tacky. Her hair was cut in layers and her face was cut short on one side and longer on the other. In her front, it was uneven. I called and spoke with the husband and he said I could bring her back. So, I took her back and the woman, owner, just automatically started snapping and told me that my puppy move so much that's why she was cut that way. I asked her if they used the holding leash like I see at Petsmart and she told me yes, but my puppy moved too much and if I did not like the cut this time, not to bring her back. I couldn't understand that when I said, I bought her here and you all have been the only groomers she's been too. She then told me don't come back. The owner was very rude and I wish I would have researched and read up on this before I either bought her or took her for grooming. This place, specifically the owner is not a business person and is very very rude and her husband is just a puppet. I was telling people about this place, but I will now let them know how unprofessional they are and I would not recommend this place to no one. They need to be investigated....Just another note, there is a sign in her place that states as of December 2011 only cash is accepted, but when I was there she let a white woman pay for her services with a check, I'm black - go figure. read more
