Both of my dogs are long gone now, but I realized that I had forgotten to leave a review for this place. They are great. We would always book an extra large suite with patio access allowing the dogs to go in and out of a doggie door all day long and they had plenty of room within the suite and would have some yard/playtime, depending on their temperament. Every suite door has a paper with all the details about your animal and any special dietary restrictions or temperament issues so anybody dealing with your dog knows what's up before they even approach them. Our dogs were always happy when we picked them up. read more

And a place that can handle all his medications. After several failures, I was referred to this location through Shelton's adoption center, One Tail At A Time. He has never been so calm and chill, leaving boarding, too bad I missed a video opp! Typically he is all ball of anxiety, this is also the first time he's gone straight to sleep after arriving home!! Checking in, the staff said, "if you don't hear from us, that is a good thing." I was a bit skeptical, but that was a true statement! They called when something was right with his poop when there was extra medication in his bag and to inquire about his toys. I appreciated the ongoing communication, and judging by the report card, he loved the team. I was side-eying the $88 a day (with a private patio), but it is worth the price (esp if your pet is non-animal friendly). The basic suites are spacious for a short stay. read more

My cat, Rocky, stayed at Pawsitively Heaven for a few days while I traveled. Reservation was easy to make, online boarding application was completed and immunization info was faxed. Staff was friendly and displayed a genuine love for animals. Tyler checked him into his kitty condo, and I felt confident that Rock was in very good hands! Rocky began exploring his condo, and seemed to enjoy the multiple levels and spots for privacy. Pictures are sent if requested, which is reassuring. At first he did not want to eat, but staff took measures to encourage food intake, and they monitored his pottying. A-OK! Pawsitively Heaven provides a report card for your pet's status. I went to check the location and found it not a place to board my baby Dog. l found the location and liked the patio access. I requested a room 2 months in advance and did not receive a response. I returned to the location and shortly received an email the next day. When I went for the tour, initially, I was ignored by the staff. I was informed the response from my initial request for boarding was probably in my spam folder (it was not). After the tour, they were placing my baby in the smallest room possible. I requested a larger room, and was informed by the owner "I was lucky to get that room". I am lucky when I am the one paying... imagine that concept...Unfortunately, I had a death in the family, and my trip was cancelled. The person I cancelled with didn't offer any condolences. Again, in the future, this is not the place to entrust my dog. I found a much classier, caring location that cares for your family pet as they care for theirs. They will be used when needed. It is there where I will send my dog and recommend in the future. read more

This place is truly amazing! I have never had to board my dogs in the past until this year and I was definitely nervous! My two one year old Maltese had two overnight stays here and it was a wonderful experience! First of all, everyone is so friendly and helpful! The employees who take care of the boarding dogs did a wonderful job making my two Maltese comfortable and took special care in letting them adjust to their suite, feedings and play time. They took extra time to socialize my dogs with other small dogs during play time which was great to hear! Their store is also great with all the best food, treats and supplies! I bought a bunch of Made In The USA toys! If I could give this place TEN STARS I would! It's great to go to work or out of town and not have to worry!! I love this place so much- both for grooming and boarding. I take my little dog here for grooming and she is a difficult little pup. Ruth (and I'm sure many others) are patient with her and so kind and welcoming even though I know my little Chloe was a pain. We boarded here for the first time this week because my husband had surgery. I knew I couldn't handle his rehab and our two big dogs at home, so we boarded the dogs for 4 nights. I was super nervous to board the dogs and everyone was so nice when we dropped them off. They showed us the room where they'd be staying, their little patio, and the giant play yard they'd get to go in multiple times a day. They were so kind to send pics each day. The dogs were happy (and tired, thankfully) when I picked them up. I am so grateful for this facility, and all of their employees!!! Thanks for everything!!! I will definitely be back!! read more

We have used this place several times for boarding when we went on vacation. They are great with our dogs and very friendly. They even let my daughter and me go back to see where our dogs would be staying. The place was very clean and didn't smell at all. It is wonderful to see this place has blossomed and gotten better over the years. It was wonderful when it first opened. The generosity of sheltering and helping to rescue several dogs from abuse. Although it was well over 10 yrs ago that this had taken place, I remember the love and care the team there gave those pups. Today, they are still #1 in grooming, day care and boarding and their love for animals is still present. Our family continues to bring our animal companions here and we can see that Marley loves his groomers too. read more

I can't recommend Pawsitively Heaven highly enough!! We have a 7 1/2 year old beagle and have been taking him there since he was a puppy. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful. Our boy goes to daycare regularly, and we know he is in good hands. We recently boarded him for about 2 weeks. The care and attention he received was exceptional; we received regular pictures via text and could see how much fun he was having and how well taken care of he was. Great experience so far! I used there grooming services for my two Dachshunds. There were in and out within two hours. Staff was nice patient and helpful. My pups came out looking good. Pawsitively Heaven is the only place I trust when boarding my dog. She doesn't like other dogs and few places will accept her, but Pawsitively Heaven is more than accommodating to her issues. She loves it there and always returns home happy. Everyone is so friendly and you can tell they genuinely care for their guests. I also like how each boarding suite is private with glass doors, not cages, so the sound of barking dogs isn't so overwhelming, especially to one that gets upset around other dogs. Pawsitively Heaven is 30 miles from my home but well worth the drive for my peace of mind. I use to board my dog closer to home but she would always come home sick and depressed. I was referred to PH by another kennel that wouldn't accept her. I'm so glad I took their recommendation. read more

I brought my cat in yesterday to get a lion cut and he came back looking terrible. First off, the woman at the front desk was stand offish and cold, as if she was waiting for something better to do than check me in. I dropped my cat off and picked him up 2 hours later and he had a botched shave. Completely uneven, Janette did not even clip his nails or shave his paw pads even after I explicitly told her to when I dropped him off. He has multiple nicks on his body and tail. His face was not even so much as wiped off. And that is just what was wrong with him, physically. This cat is very cuddly and always wants to be held or in your lap. After this groom, he was shaking, did not want to even be touched, and hid for the rest of the day. Honestly not the first ridiculous experience I have had with this groomer, but definitely the last. Love your cats, stop bringing them here. read more

So really thought this place was great till this year. BEWARE get a price in writing before you hand over your pup for grooming. They raise their prices everytime you pick up your dog and make some stupid excuses. 8 weeks ago it was oh we had a price increase, yesterday was the best oh he's full grown now. Me excuse me he's full grown and 8 weeks ago he wasn't. The manager Ruth had no idea he had been there 8 weeks ago and then was tongue tied for another lie about why they raised the prices again. She then tells me how $78 was cheap for him. I also didn't like how the groomer was handling my dog yesterday at drop off and pick up. There are to many groomers around here to be staying with them and being lied to and have to go behind the groomer and tidy up the cut and handling my baby by just pulling him. As of June 14, nobody has even bothered to reach out to me so I could talk to them about all the issues. Guess they don't care about customer service either. read more

Pawsitively Heaven Per Resort is the BEST! They don't just treat your dog like any pet, they treat them like their own! We have had numerous boarding there. Every time we go we are always impressed. Mike is very involved and will give you a full report on your dog upon pick up! Our Chocolate Lab "Joey" loves going Here! He gets to play all day with his many friends. They also have live streaming of all the daycare so you can see your fur baby through the day! I won't ever use this any other place but this one! They even gave him a special treat on his birthday! If I could give no stars, that's exactly what I would do. We brought our 9 month old pup to daycare to get out of the house and socialize. We were never informed to like their Facebook page or sign up on their website.... apparently kennel cough was going around at least 2 weeks prior to us bringing our baby there. After our pups 3rd time going, about 3 days later she developed this bad cough. At one point I thought shev was dying. We take her to the vet, only to find out that kennel cough had been going around Pawsitively heavin since middle of March. after a $100 vet bill, we contacted the facility only to have the managers get combative with us. We understand the possible exposure for our dog to attend daycare. The issue we had is that they knew they had ongoing casss, but chose not to notify us so could make a decision whether to send our dog.... I am so so dissapointEd with the way they acted and responded that merge issue. Consumer beware before you send your dog to this place.... never ever again. read more

I can honestly say this place is awesome! I have taken my puppy Pearl to both Doggy Daycare, Boarding and Grooming. Everyone that works there loves dogs. The boarding suites are in sizes, the dogs have their own room with tv, cabinets and beds. They are taken out 5 times a day. The door to suites are all glass. The staff will also take you back the with your dog when checking in to see for yourself. Daycare is great. Your dog is temperament tested and first 2 days are limited to not overwhelm your pup. Michael the daycare manager communicates well with you. The dogs are separated by size ie small and large to not intimidate them. Grooming is individualized. Sara is patient. There is also a retail store in front that is reasonably priced. You can also tour and can walk in if the retail part is open. So there is no hiding. They house cats separately. No bad smells, clean and lots of outside space for dogs to play inside and outdoors. read more

After my best friend raved and raved about Pawsitively Heaven, I had to check it out and I am so glad I did. I have a 6 month old German Shepherd Hound Mix named Buddy who I adopted about 2 months ago and these past two months have been very interesting for the both of us. I live in the South Loop of Chicago and out of convenience started taking my pup to DoGone Fun! Daycare on 17th & State. After only 3 days of going to daycare there Buddy was "nipped" on the ear by another dog (which I let slide thinking it was just puppy play). About a month later he was bitten in the face by another dog while under their care! This is where I drew the line. I was then on the hunt for a new doggie daycare/boarding facility and decided to try Pawsitively Heaven. Since I live so far away (at least a 30 minute drive) we had to visit on a Saturday. I knew from the start that this had to be a top notch place because of the screening process. I had to fill out an online application for daycare (about 6 pages long) which was very thorough and asked about my dog's likes, fears and habits. I also had to get another fecal exam because they require all of their dogs to have a negative fecal exam within the last 30 days, Buddy's last exam was about 2 months prior. On top of that, they only allow new dogs to stay for a half day of daycare the first two visits so they can slowly get used to the facility & the other dogs. This was all ok with me because I felt like if they do this for every dog then they must care about all of the dogs. When you arrive at Pawsitively Heaven you wouldn't even know it was a dog facility. There is no odor or smell of animals which is pretty impressive. We had to wait a few minutes because they were in the process of doing another temperament test but this allowed us time to provide the necessary paperwork. When it was Buddy's turn to be tested, I told the handler about Buddy's history and he listened carefully. I stuck around for a few minutes to watch the web cam which they have in every room as well as in the outdoor play area. They introduced him to the dogs one by one and once he seemed to feel comfortable they let him lose. When I picked him up 4 hours later (which is a half day) they gave me his review for the day and had a lot of details to share which assured me that he was watched closely and cared for. I've scheduled a one night boarding appointment (which I recommend you make in advance because they book up so quickly) and am looking forward to our 2nd half day of daycare so we can eventually do a full-day. Nothing but great things to say about Pawsitively Heaven so far. I'll be sure to post a review about their boarding services. Just wish there was a place this great for dogs in the city. read more

I can't say enough about this place. I was having a lot of dog mom anxiety about boarding our dog but my parents had many positive experiences boarding their dogs here so it was an natural choice. Despite it being an hour drive from my house (I live in Indiana!), this was the only place I wanted to consider leaving our pup! They take very detailed notes and history about your dog and give you the same feedback when you come to pick up your dog. They facility is clean and secure. You can bring everything your dog needs to be comfortable. The room where my dog stayed was very clean and quiet (once the glass doors were closed). They encourage you to call as often as you need and have webcams you can access from their app so you can check in during the day! The only thing is I recommend booking in advance as they usually fill up quickly because they have many happy customers!!!! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Pawsitively Heaven! There is no better, safer, caring and loving place to take your fur babies when they need to be boarded while you are on vacation. We have been boarding our spoiled fur baby, Sunshine, at Pawsitively for the last several years. I never have to worry that she's being taken care of - not only that but she is truly loved by the staff. She actually looks forward to going! She knows those words - Pawsitively Heaven - her tail starts wagging a mile a minute and she stands by the door waiting to go. There are no cages here. They have spacious rooms with comfortable beds. If you really want to spoil them, you can even order "hot lunch"! They make sure to give plenty of walks and play time. Also, if you're away for several days, there is a good chance you'll see your baby's picture posted on the Facebook page having fun. I wouldn't trust anyone else with our girl, and neither should you. If you're one of those people who always worries about the well-being of your dog while you're away, then get rid of all those fears and bring your fur baby here! The staff maintains the feeding and treat routines your cat is accustomed to. They have emergency contact info and those of our Veterinarian's. When we return, we always get a report card on how he did! PHPR does doggie daycare, boarding, training and physical therapy too! Indoor AND outdoor!
