Since we lost our last elderly rescue, our former dog walkers had retired so we found Patti, who unlike others I had called, immediately got in touch with me and scheduled a "meet and greet" to see if she'd be a good fit for our house. I can't speak highly enough of her. She's caring, professional, definately has working knowledge of dog behavior and we can rely on her, even when we had to make a schedule change on short notice due to an unexpected work trip. Our Lab just loves her, and waits for her patiently as soon as she senses it's about "that time" (with the same precision as "it's dinnertime!"

Patti took excellent care of my dog and my two cats while I was out of town for a weekend, and she sent texts and photos each time she visited, so I felt connected to my fur babies while I was gone. She brought the mail in, cleaned the cat box, and she even left an Easter basket of dog, cat and people treats for my pets and my three kids--from the Easter Beagle. When she came by to return the keys, my dog went bananas and was so excited to see her! It was so nice to know all my pets were comfortable and cared for in my home, and not in a crate in a place that was strange to them. It was also nice to know my house still had a dog inside it while I was gone--I really appreciated that extra feeling of security. Patti is the best! We'll be calling her every time we need care for our pets.

Elizabeth clearly knows her stuff, and took time to make sure we felt comfortable with a really helpful packet of information for us along with a short meet and greet visit at her home where our dog would be staying. Throughout the visit, Elizabeth kept us updated with texts, short videos and photos. When we picked up our dog, he was so happy and exhausted - almost like what you'd expect picking up a kid from sleep away camp. This was truly an exceptional experience for all of us, and we will definitely be reaching out to Elizabeth the next time we need a dog sitter!

I work from home and have been clipping my own dog's nails for four straight years, so I don't…read moreparticularly need most of the services at Bark Place. However, I got this dog sweater from this location and thought maybe my dog would wear it once or twice for pics but never again. (I'm not a huge fan of dogs wearing clothes, but I had to admit a noticeable difference with my short-haired dog not shivering during winter months while wearing two separate coats. So I backed down on making fun of dog coats. My two larger, furrier dogs in prior years never needed manmade coats.) But this sweater is turning into a Linus blanket situation. I tried putting on a "Christmas" dog coat that matched her red Xmas collar (I love festive dog collars!!!), but it was white and getting dirty too quickly. I took it off to handwash it and put the Bark Place pink sweater on my dog solely for one walk, and she's been running away ever since when I try to take it off at night. At one point, she slid under one of the bar stools in my dining room, around the corner, ran into my bedroom and into her crate, flopping down sideways. Even if you don't need anything else in Bark Place, take note of the dog clothes. A bunch of my relatives crochet and knit, so I already knew the dog sweater was solid quality but expected it to wear. It still looks brand new, and my dog is glued to it. When I take it off to bathe her or what I *think* is comfier to sleep at night, she growls and leaps for it. I think a pink sweater and a red bow collar clash, but she couldn't care less about me being the fashion police. I'm tickled by how much she likes THIS particular sweater but has never ever been this into any other dog clothes gift (that I usually return) in four straight years. Don't sleep on the dog sweaters, I guess, unless you're my own dog who will turn over sideways so she CAN sleep in hers.

My dog has decided Alessandra is his new girlfriend and now spends the time it takes Alessandra to get upstairs sitting by my front door shrieking with excitement. If it weren't frowned upon by society, I get the feeling Alessandra would do the same. It's clear she loves our little dude. And he loves her.
